I always wondered as I got older, how could the legends of today ever be surpassed by the legends of tomorrow. Its weird, when I look back, Jordan was already a legend as I was growing up. Something legendary about watching guys like Kobe, Lebron, KG, growing up. The guys you watch growing up have a almost unsurmountable mountain. They hold so much weight because those are the guy you watched growing up. They have a special place in your heart, and as you get into your 20s and your life starts and these new kids come into the league, you wonder how on earth these guys will ever come close to what Lebron did or what Kobe did. The sentiment those guys hold makes them feel unfallable. I grew up considering Phil Jackson and Greg as the greatest coaches of all time. Thought nobody will ever come close to what those guys did in this league. But with Steph winning his Finals MVP over my Celtics and Kerr leading the way......once again. Im starting to realize my bias and heart thats attached to the legends of my childhood and the legends I was told about in Jordan, Barkley, Bird, Magic, Kareem......I was told those guys belong on your list. Respect their contributions. And then being conflicted as I grew up watching Duncan, Kobe and Lebron, thinking but these guys are the best Ive ever seen. And now watching guys like Steph and Giannis. Progressing into my hard headed phases of "you kids dont know what youre talking about" and "Prime Lebron James was a GOAT" or "Kobe did things on the court youll never imagine". Its weird. Its conflicting. But Ive realized the list of legends grows with time. Appreciate the fact that youre able to witness. Have your views, have your biases, but dont ever let that stop you from witnessing and appreciating greatness. My Boston Celtics just lost to a few legends a week ago, and its all good. I just witnessed the ascention of two legends into my personal top 10 and top 5 respectively. Im here for it. Appreciate what you have. You never know when its your last day, or theirs. Love it with all your heart because when its gone, youll spend a lifetime regretting the moments you let slip by. Kerr is a top 5 coach of all time, and Steph is a top 10 player of all time. No doubt about either.

He is a remarkable figure in the game. His playing style is so much more suited to the way the NBA is now, but he came through an era when he was a bench player. He won it all with Jordan, Pippern, Rodman and Phil Jackson. Then he goes to San Antonio and wins it all with Duncan, Ginobli, Parker and Pop. Steve is clearly a great character and a brilliant bloke.

I don't wanna be that guy, but how could you leave out game 6 of the 2003 west finals against the Mavericks, man? Kerr, in his last season, barely played that postseason and checked into the game with the spurs trailing big time. And he shot 4 threes and made all of them to lead a spurs run that took the game, and the series. The guy should've been ice-cold, yet he started knocking down threes like a friggin machine just as he was called upon. That was classic Kerr. He was never a star player, but when you needed a shot, he was dependable. He may not have had the athleticism or fancy moves, but he had the heart of a champion and one of the most accurate shots of all time.
