Timothee is not socially awkward. While Hollywood interviews have admittedly made him nervous (especially as a new star), his high school days and old Instagram tell a VERY different story. IRL it’s evident that he oozes charisma and he’s very alluring. People with social anxiety are not the popular class clown who performs a nicki minaj song in front of a whole school, those two data points simply do not correlate. That’s all.
I agree. He is not awkward. He plays awkward, which is fine. We all have personas that are a part of ourselves. I haven’t seen his prior social media content but I have seen people that “knew him when” .
He's definitely socially anxious, hence the title of the video. I know a lot of confident and popular people that struggle with social anxiety. It's hard to believe at times but social anxiety presents itself in different ways for different people. My friend that is one of the most popular kids in my school has had panic attacks from social situations where he had a breakdown and started crying. His friends had to physically carry him to somewhere where he could calm down. He's still popular and is charismatic, the statement that confident and charismatic people can't have social anxiety just isn't true.
Being awkward, quirky, unique, goofy, weird - whatever you may call it - has an endearing and charming quality that tends to appeal to the "cutesy" side of women. Such qualities that make other men scoff can lead to women going "awww!" because it's often sweet, genuine, and unassuming. Women don't want someone putting on a front to impress them. Being your authentic and unfiltered self IS attractive. -Emma

I love how Timothée Chalamet is the exact opposite of musclar, yet celebrities find him very attractive and charismatic. Someone's village is missing their greatly talented Chalamet.
That’s the misconception with a guy like Timothee, That’s just his personality. He’s just charming in that way, it’s not like he lacks confidence and his personality is not a learned trait. His awkwardness is what charms people, he’s self aware and I don’t think he tries to change who he is. I’ve met many kids like him where they are not “alpha males” but everyone they come across respects their charm (male or female). I’m awkward in a bad way, I can’t talk freely as nothing ever comes to mind, there’s always a angry look on my face, I’m not talkative, not approachable, not sociable, dismissive… yea it’s pretty much as bad as it gets on my side
“It’s not like he lacks confidence and his personality is not a learned trait”. Most of our personalities are learned traits. We just start learning them from the beginning of of our lives and when we are very young, unconsciously. Our personalities often change as we age due to previous experiences that shape us. Confidence (or lack of) is absolutely a learned trait. It’s taught to you by people who raised you, as well as by yourself as you grow, so those who started learning and reinforcing confidence young find it feels natural. But those who learned the opposite, to not be confident in themselves, can retrain themselves to feel more confident over time, with lots of practice, at any age. The more aware you are of how your past experiences and the people in your life shaped you, and what you could be doing to practice feeling better, the more control you will have in how you grow and improve as a person. This is for everyone in life, not just social situations like this channel covers!
It's very clear to me that's he's intensely trained his charisma. Didn't you see how quick he was to share the lesson about the recovery. From his tone u could tell that was his favorite by far, he even went out of his way to give himself recovery opportunities. That being said anyone can do small things to strengthen their charisma. I am on the spectrum. I need a lot of processing time, take things too literally, and have been called things like "psychopath, future school shooter, creepy" and far worse due mostly to my poor eye contact and body language. I get along with people so well now that I kindof feel like a fraud and don't want to keep up with my friends/women. I need to take regular breaks. U say that you are the bad type of awkward and can't keep a conversation going. I can relate to that and I think it is important to hone in on the charisma hacks that will do the most for your specific scenario. My favorite solution to keeping a convo going was by far just slowing down. I speak slowly and pause in the middle of my sentences and got comfortable with not answering a girl's questions for 2-5 seconds. Just so that I could process it and reply with something actually valuable. Eventually people feel you out and give you what u need when ur able to ask for it consciously or not. U should be able to at least ask simple questions comfortably if u master that tip alone. Then I think working on the positivity and weaving jokes into casual conversation becomes world's easier. To me it's a snowball effect. Slow and right is good training, fast and wrong is terrible practice.
You know, if this is something that bothers you maybe you can try just a little part of it. I have hardcore social anxiety, so I don't talk at all but I'm always smiling and paying attention to the conversation, so it shows other people that I'm shy but also a "warm" person. Sometimes the smile does a lot for charisma I guess.
He Is the same personality type I look for in guys, emotionally connected and doesn't have hyper masculine issues. Not to mention acknowledging negative aspects and turning them positive.
My brothers roommate when I was 18 literally told me "no one cares if you're awkward, it doesn't matter to anyone no one's gonna remember it." After that I startef to go with it and it changed my life.

I've noticed that I've always done that. Basically whenever I get nervous I speak my mind about how I'm feeling, it releases tension for me and provides comedic relief for others. If I'm doing a presentation in front of a class I'll admit that I'm nervous and the class gets a laugh and I continue without getting picked on.

When I started working more in customer service I realised that it's easy to make awkwardness charming if you just lean into it - most of the time people actually like a small amount of vulnerability, you just have to be unapologetic about it

Same, I remember being bullied all my life I would just hide it by smiling and laughing. So when someone actually teases me I don’t know if their actually trying to make fun of me or be playful with me😭
That’s the problem… Their teasing hurt you… So trying to laugh and smile while you are upset is counterintuitive… It only works if you genuinely don’t care about their comments.. That way your smile will make you more likable and look confident
I discovered this (calling out the awkwardness) about 20 years ago. I found that I felt so much more relaxed when I did. That's always the advice I give when one of my kids when they are worrying about an upcoming interaction. I just tell them to bring that point up first.
I already figured out how to do this from years of complete social shunning and daily panic attacks, I’m insanely proud of it. Still have trouble sometimes but I figured out how to turn it into a charismatic quirk and it’s truly my greatest achievement
he's so charismatic and friendly, nothing timothée does feels "calculated". he's so genuine, humble and everyone who works with him have nothing but kind things to say about him, because he's an actual good person.
Calling out the awkwardness is so true! A few years ago, I was running around this very large place and tripped on my feet falling face down on the floor. I got mildly hurt but the embarrassment of falling the way I did was even worse. So I did the only thing I could think of: I turned on my back and started laughing so much because of my clumsiness that people started laughing because I was laughing. None of my friends who were there that day remember what happened, but we all remember a friend who fell down when trying to sit on a chair because she just didn’t call out the awkwardness.
His character appeals more to the female gaze and this is why men have a hard time understanding why he's so attractive Edit: If you’re going to comment saying he’s attractive because he’s handsome, don’t. I’m saying that in my opinion the reason he stands out more than other handsome actors (or handsome men in general) is because he appeals to the female gaze.
Not being afraid to express your genuine emotions is attractive. Timothy does it well. His beautiful face helps as well. Also, being kind and thoughtful.
I must not be awkward Awkwardness is the mind killer Awkwardness is the little death that brings total obliteration I will face my awkwardness I will permit it to pass over me and through me And when it has gone past I will turn the inner twitching eye to see its path Where the awkward has gone there will be nothing Only I will remain.
That mindset of "if this doesn't work, on to the rest of life" is helping me so much with college exams now, I don't go there to pass everything right away, but to try, and if it doesn't work, on to the next exam.
I personally think his personality plays the largest part in what makes him attractive. I never thought he was cute. But then I watched Beautiful Boy and his interviews. I grew fond of him because of the way he portrays himself (sweet, ackward, pationate) and his character (great acting- I relatef to his character even though i have never actully been in his position). So I checked out his other films and grew even more fond of him due to his great ability to portray a wide range of emotions and characters while making it all seem so natural. Now i think he's goodlooking, but it took alot for me to get to that point. (Not saying I thought he was ugly before, just wasnt my type)
I like how people leave comments considering Timothee's attractive awkwardness only because he has one of the most beautiful faces in the world. Strangely I used to think his face looks weird and he is so skinny, like a child. But after I saw the movie Dune, and starting to go over his interviews. Now I think he's the most beautiful human being I'd ever seen. So I assume that his talent to bring out all the roles he plays, and his passion and commitment towards his acting career do change how we see his apperance a little bit.
Yes, that happened to me as well. Actually, each person have their own conception of “beauty” and “attractiveness”. Personally, I find him handsome but I don’t find him attractive/sexy. And I believe that all the smile and him being nice is like fake positivity and he’s playing role in his interviews. I believe that his true personality is more serious and introverted. It's true tho, men like muscles women usually don't find them as attractive. I think an "Alpha" male is what we men think the perfect man is, so he's gotta have all the sterotypical traits. On the other hand, what women find attractive is completely different to what men find attractive. Good times 😅

I dont get why people keep saying that. I remember seeing photos of him before I knew Who he was. I didnt think he was atractive really. In my eys he was skinny, pale and with the face of a baby. Not bad looking necesarly but not atractive either. Then I saw little woman and a few other interviws with him. Now I love him! this is true. i remember i once saw a picture of him for the first time and was like" is this really the person ppl are going for?" but when i started watching his films and interviews i understood. he does have a pretty face, but his personality is the main trait that makes him attractive. he always has a smile on his face and the way he is doesnt feel forced. its real, its the real him. since then, everytime i look at a celebrity that acts "cold" and "unapproachable" on purpose, i just cant find them attractive...

I will say one thing that helped me that I imagine has helped Timothee is being involved in theatre. I don’t know how to explain it but you learn these traits from being in live shows. If you mess up, keep going, if you’re doing media for a show, you get practice talking in a professional way, you’re likely around a lot of adults so you end up maturing a lot faster than you normally would being around your own aged peers.

I don’t know the exact context of that quote but I got a question. I know there’s a difference between a toxic argument and a healthy discussion. How can we settle what “good” is when “good” can be so subjective especially in today’s culture if we just be “good” and never discuss what that implements?
I'm just wondering when will you make a video about Keke Palmer. She's hilarious, lovely and everyone who knows her in person (including Timothee) just seems to fall in love with her.

Nah this ain’t it. He’s literally one of the most good looking actors of our generation. Anyone can do anything awkward and come away charming if they look like him.
But this video isn't about being as attractive as him. He is merely used as an example. The tips given in this video are still a great help to those who are worried about being too awkward in situations. All the points help.
I disagree with you. I'm not saying that appearance doesn't help, but that is NOT what is making these situations not awkward. He could easily have made it awkward if he didn't have the confidence to just roll with it. One of my best friends is very attractive, has an insane jawline, athletic, quite tall, but he's incredibly uncomfortable and awkward with himself. Meanwhile I know unattractive people who can capture the attention of an entire room merely by their words and expressions. I'm telling you, charisma is way more important than looks. However once more, that's not to say that being attractive doesn't help, it definitely does, attractive people are seen as less creepy, they are usually given more chances (which is probably why attractive people are generally more charismatic, along with the difference in confidence between someone attractive and unattractive) etc etc. This is something we can't deny, but charisma is still king.
This video has incredibly valuable life forming info. Luckily I had and still have a dad that taught me all of this growing up. Learning how to embrace awkwardness and make fun of yourself when called for just frees you to really be yourself and enjoy life. This channel is so good.
One of my favorite things about myself is being, looks wise, whatever the polar opposite of what ole Timmy looks like. I never have to deal with women wanting me it’s so freeing!
Charisma On Command should analyze the attraction of Jack Harlow since people are talking about how this doesn't count because Timmy is conventionally attractive. With Jack everyone will admit its his personality and charm that attracts people instead of just looks.

When I fell down a bowling lane at a work Christmas party, I laughed at myself to appear less awkward. I wasn’t charismatic or attractive like Timothy to pull it off. Everyone was embarrassed by me. So the lesson is: be attractive and your awkwardness will be endearing.

@@vanwagon Thank you for commenting this (:

Even introverted socially awkward people can perform on a stage I feel. In fact sometimes it’s a safe space.
Being awkward, quirky, unique, goofy, weird - whatever you may call it - has an endearing and charming quality that tends to appeal to the "cutesy" side of women. Such qualities that make other men scoff can lead to women going "awww!" because it's often sweet, genuine, and unassuming.

You're not alone brother 👋

You know, if this is something that bothers you maybe you can try just a little part of it.

F people who who treat attractive people better ,think about the the people who are trying to improve ,this channel is about improving becoming your best you can be and your comment doesn't help with that it brings people down (sure this needs to be discussed but not where people are trying to improve )
other youtuber tells ambiguous on the social skills , but you tell the Specific methods and example, i love that.

"By calling himself out, he let's the awkwardness move through him, so that he can go right back to looking her in the eye."
"I must not fear awkwardness.
Fear of awkwardness is the charisma-killer.
Fear of awkwardness is the little-personality-death that brings total conversation obliteration.
I will face my awkwardness.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear of awkwardness has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
The Litany Against Awkwardness
To sum it up.
The more love you radiate, the more attractive you are. And you can increase your love, by doing more what you love, having a high vibrational diet, meditation, nature, finding deeper purpose.
"Everyone feels Attracted towards you when you're Famous" - Ankit Kumar
Wow. Quoting yourself.
Who is this guy, he's a genius :O
Aaaahahahhahahahhaha
And when you're good looking .
I still would’ve found Timothee attractive if he was a random stranger walking down the street. As a matter of fact, I went to college with an Italian dude who looked similar to Tim and I had a crush on him for like 2 years. 😂😂
Confidence is actually the key point
I’ve always liked Timothee as an actor and respected his talent, but I had no idea how cute and charming he came across in person! He’s like a ray of sunshine, no wonder so many people adore him.
