i just replaced my front and rear brakes and i had put the m77 assembly paste but the brakes squeal while driving and not pressing the brakes . I’ve taken them off and it still squeals slightly and i’ve followed both your videos on the brakes.
That spring looks tricky for sure. Guess the design of caliper bolts don’t require grease like previous generation of Honda’s ? Why can’t you rotate the rotor left or right ? Thanks for sharing this information.
@@RBTheMechanic You had mentioned early in the video about not turning the rotor otherwise car might throw a code. That’s what I was trying to describe.
Do you know why those outer OEM pads are glued to the outer caliper ? I had a bad uneven wear problem in the rear (this same car, 18 Accord) where the outer pad wore out way faster than the inners. And the wear indicator is only on the inners, because that supposed to hit the rotor first. I guess the caliper pins wasn't greased properly at factory ? Bc I only have ~45k miles (~72km). Now I want to change the front pads to avoid any problems, but I want to buy Akebono aftermarket front pads. The problem is, I think ONLY the OEM factory pads have this peel-off sticker on the outer pads. Does it help keep the outer pad from wearing un-evenly ?
I'm really hoping that rotor screw is going to come out with a hammer tap that you showed. When I worked on my rear I struggled with that pittsburgh tool and it even broke on me.
@@RBTheMechanic the hammer tap definitely helped. I just realized also that the Pittsburgh impact tool does appear to rotate clockwise (not only counter-clockwise) and I think that's why the tool has been breaking for me.
What is the name of that pry tool you used to take that big spring off the front of the caliper? I cannot find one angled like that anywhere. Had so much trouble removing and installing that stupid spring
I saw you replied to someone else asking a similar question and I still couldn’t find the green hand tool you used in the video. I need that in my life, please and thank you
@@RBTheMechanic Thank you! also got an additional question. is it okay not to have the screw that holds the rotor? the aftermarket rotor i bought doesn’t have one but fits just right.
@@RBTheMechanic thanks man🙏 i just changed my rotor and brakes yesterday but the front right side sounds like the pads are too tight against the rotor… could I of tightened the caliper pins too tight or could it be something else? sorry for the questions
@@RBTheMechanic Not to be a pain, but the first comment was “ no slider pins to grease”. Then your reply was about using an Allen. Guess I didn’t understand your reply.
To frustrate us. The JIS (Japanese industrial screw, not a Philips head, but close) keeps the rotor tight while the vehicle moves around the factory. It is not needed outside the factory. Most will just toss it the first time the rotors are changed.
Hey man, thanks, this was very helpful. That trick with the old brake pad for the caliber was righteous
Yes

Squeak is usually the material of pads

Yeah only factory has that works good it stays with caliper when it backs off but it shouldn’t be problem if u use after marker none stickie

Depends on the year

But everything else is super easy.

Yeah ur not so bad
You dont even need it honestly
