To be honest, I used to think you were a bit pretentious, but I just love you now. Your home is beautiful but cosy and not overly fancy and in your most vulnerable moments I see how real and kind you are. But my favorite is feeling the pure love and excitement you have for being a mother! I am so so happy for you.

Jen, you are so correct on the importance of the nearness of family. When I was tiny I spent the Holidays with cousins and although we now live farther away,my Holiday memories are magical :).
I think you did a great job toning down the decor for this year but still making the house feel festive!
As a fellow short waisted woman...I appreciate your shortness of breath! LOL My oldest daughter was 9lbs 4oz...I thought I was going to pass out towards the end! Keep watching for the day you can breathe all of a sudden...will mean baby-girl is settling into position! :)

I had never heard of a Sprinkle before. I thought it was such a good idea to make the tree decorations at the party. Don looked cute holding up his long paper chain. Our 9 foot has been blowing strands for the past couple years. I just buy more white lights and fill in the areas that are burned out. I love my tree and don't want to replace it. This is our 12th Christmas with it. I haven't found one that looks as real and nice as it does. I think next year I'm just going to cut off the old lights and start stringing lights each year, sometimes colored, sometimes white. But I'm keeping the tree :-) Your home is beautiful ! I love watching your videos and you have such nice ideas. Merry Christmas !!!!

Jen, you need to get the Light Keeper Pro. It's a little battery operated "gun" that sends a surge through the strand. Sometimes the bulb malfunctions and doesn't close when it burns out, this little do hickie makes it close and then allows the lights that are off but not burned out to turn back on. We've had ours for years and it still works great.

Beautiful house and decorations. I just noticed one thing. For the first couple of months baby needs to be changed a lot and specially if she poops during the night which she will a lot, if you want convenience, set up a little changing station in your bedroom as well for the first 3 months. Just a table and a pad and a trash can plus a basket with wipes, diapers and diaper cream :)

What a family of Martha Stewarts! Gorgeous décor in both your and MIL's house. Jen I have to say your hair is looking amazing, looks like it's increased in volume ten fold. Sorry you are so out of breath, I remember being that way with my pregnancies too - the good news is as soon as you deliver, it goes away. It is tiring though, I remember that as being the most pesky thing of pregnancy. So close now!!! I'm so excited for you and Don.
