The best backup battery in the game!!! Great video Maisie!!
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
Is that possible to have 2 Powerwall 3 connected in series to boost voltage output for house with a much higher electricity usage?
Wow! Great info! The integrated MPPTs are an interesting idea and will minimize losses that micro inverters experience when charging batteries. But does that mean you'll loose the ability to see production at the panel level and only see data at the string level?
Correct, with Powerwall 3, production monitoring will be at MPPT level and there are 6 MPPTs.
Is the powerwall 3 connected in the AC side as the powerwall 2 or is possibile to connect in DC side ?(directly by solar pannels)
Great question! The solar will be connected directly to the built in inverter from the DC side and then you’ll have an AC output
I have a CT on order. Will it replace PW3?
Cyber truck can utilize a program called PowerShare, and can backup up to 48 amps worth of load in the event of an outage. We see it as more of a supplement than a replacement.
Have you all installed the Tesla Backup Switch/Meter Collar yet? I wasn’t sure if Oncor has approved those.
Yes, with Coserv, but not with Oncor. Not approved there yet!
Would of been nice if they upped the size to around 20 since its basically still just a powerwall 2 with some minor tweaks.
Nice feedback! The PW 3 has 130% more maximum continuous power, 75% more load start capability, 119% more max solar system size, and as you pointed out, the same amount of energy capacity. It's less expensive with a big step change in power for the home! Overall, a huge win for all of us 👏👏👏
@@GoodFaithEnergy Definitely a step in the right direction for sure, expecially with the biggest gate to battery backup being cost. I just feel like a size increase would have been better since the current will still struggle to last even 1 night from what ive seen.
Can it heat your home also?
Hey! Depending on the type of heating your home has, it is possible for the Powerwall 3 to back it up. Gas heating is the easiest to back up, and electric heating depends on the rating of the heater. You can reach out on our website to talk to our team more about it!
What's the price?
The cost of a Powerwall 3 is $7500 + shipping + tax + other materials + install + profit. A standard install where the Powerwall 3 and backup gateway are installed within 10’ of the electric panel with a home already up to code is approximately $15,000 before the 30% tax credit. Add on Powerwall 3’s won’t require as much work so they can be closer to $8-10k. This is obviously dependent on the geographic region and the licensing/insurance requirements set forth by the state and jurisdiction on the electrical contractor. Hope that helps provide a little more context!
What is the battery chemistry?
I understand that the Tesla powerwall 3 comes with lithium iron phosphate ( LFP).
Orange is correct here Iron phosphate is in the 3 because It's safer. I just got an estimate for one with solar panels yesterday.
LFP - lithium iron phosphate - little to no risk of fire because incapable of thermal runaway
I think she said lithium ion similar to what is in mobile phones at 3 mins 50?
Hey! It is indeed LFP, Lithium Iron Phosphate, whereas the previous Powerwall 2 was Lithium ion Phosphate
Inkompatibel with the German Energie Grid.
Powerwall Support only one Phase , but WE have three Phase.
With Three Phase you can use 3 x 11 KW simultan to Support Heatpump.
A good Technologie but Stone Age.
In Germany WE have 55 KW Batterie , self cooling Solar Roof ( more Performance than Tesla Roof ).
Why living American in technkcal Stone. Age?
My Queation, bevor wasting Money after a Release in Europe , can the new Wall three Phase from solar Panels send to my Grid?
@@sven2022-wb7wc Yeah and you build crap cars, see Volkswagen...
@@03stage2
3 Phase a 4,7 KW.
In Germany Tesla Backup Funktion was Not allkwrd , overload of one Phase.
@@03stage2 But , to manage Energy Zusage from Solar , Power wall is the best Option
Cheaper , in Germany you pay for 22 KW 30000 Dollar , for 55 KW 60 000 Dollar.
The powerwall 3 lacks flexibility to retrofit already existing solar systems already installed.
I understand that DC is more efficient but I would be nice to have the flexibility of the powerwall 2 AC system.
It should have the option of both ( AC ,DC).
Powerwall 3 can be a/c connected...what do you mean? I have two solar arrays and can only do a/c tied easily.
The Tesla Powerwall will be able to be AC coupled. Look for an announcement from Tesla regarding this in the coming weeks
@@GoodFaithEnergy originally was DC only.
Tesla is saying that could be used to retrofit (AC). I asked when I installed my Tesla powerwall 2 about it.
Tesla advisor told me that can only be DC in new install .
I showed home the new information from Tesla and still said they were DC only the pwl3
@@whattheschmidt Tesla is publishing conflicting information.
First they said PWLs 3 were DC only.
I recently read that PWLs3 could be AC.
@Orangedocfamilymedic interesting. I only know of Powerwall 3 being more capable. Still not LFP batteries though I believe. I'm going to wait 2-3 more years then get an a/c coupled system.
Lithium ion??? Junk. They need to be on Lithium Iron formula by now.
A lot of talk about the product, but zero talk about pricing because it's unaffordable for most.
15,000 for two and the fed government gives you 5,000 back. So 10 for 2. Awesome deal. If you can't afford it don't be hating
That's because elon musk is a clown and a d!!c
That price don’t include the transfer switch, other direct materials needed, direct labor, etc. On average it will cost ~17k after tax credit for two assuming no major electrical upgrades or unnecessary code standards are required. A key benefit here if the cost of your solar system will drop significantly since the PW3 comes equipped with a solar inverter that can handle up to 20KWdc.
It’s $12k
