Full of helpful advice as ALWAYS!! Thankyou!!! I think a lot of people will have learnt a lot from you and keep learning, I am one of those people :) Keep doing what you do best...teaching all about produce :) x
I am 70 and I have grown up with coconuts and don't remember ever having a bad one but in the last month I bought 5 and only 1 of the 5 was good. Would the reason be that the are sealing them in plastic wrap? I have never bought them wrapped until this year. Also, thank you for the info on how to open them. Lillian
Yesss thank you!!! I always ask the produce people how to tell if it's good or not but all they ever tell me is, "shake and make sure there's water." I asked a man if it matter if its cracked all over he said not at all... it was moldy lol thanks so much for posting!!
Great Video, very informative. I do love coconut. Do you have King Coconut in the US YPG, I used to have a King Coconut Tree in my Garden, very sweet Bright Yellow outer skin. You have a great weekend. Steve
Thanx for starting at the very beginning & breaking it all down, step-by-step. I tho't I knew abt. coconuts...didn't know ANY of this stuff! Fascinating! I always wanted to taste what the "natives" were drinking when they hacked open those coconuts in the old South Seas movies & drank the "milk"...always very disappointed w/the thin/sour water actually found in grocery-store c'nuts. Now, I know the " Why?"! (:
I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else is searching for coconut oil and benefits try Niposcu Coconut Oil Adviser ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my colleague got amazing results with it.

I can only get the young Thais chilled. Could I leave these at room temp after they are chilled then chill them before I use them without spoiling? Thanks!
Thanks for the vid. I'd personally really like to see a vid on the making of coconut milk sooner than later. I'm guessing it is just like making homemade almond milk just that there is a bit more work getting the flesh out of the nut....Do you know if coconuts have been irradiated or pasteurized in any way before it hits the shelves? Most almonds sold are pasteurized one way or another. There's one way that your FDA approves of that uses a known carcinogen to pasteurize almonds. Not good!
I can't seem to find a reason anywhere, but the first coconut i bought last week, put a hole in it, drained the water, then smashed it open to get to the meat, the meat was delicious, so when i was done, i decided to buy another. The other coconut i bought was MUCH tougher to get into, but i managed to get into it, drained it of the water just the same, only the flesh wasn't as refreshing or nice at all, it tasted really soapy. any particular reason? or method to avoid this happening again?
nice, thank you!!
Excellent information! I'm looking forward to how to get into the coconuts, next!
This was one of the most complete guides on YT yet 😊

Green, or young, coconuts have better milk in my opinion, while a mature, or brown, will have better meat.
I can only get the young Thais chilled. Could I leave these at room temp after they are chilled then chill them before I use them without spoiling? Thanks!
Where can I find your video about coconut milk please.
I got one it was brown on the outside. Lots of water on the inside but The Flash was hard as a brick bat. What did I do wrong?
Great video thanks for sharing :)

What makes them gray inside?

Zaren k What color were they? Green or brown?
brown
I heard the Brown ones have better meat but not so good water. The Green ones have good water, but not so good meat.
Anyone else here in 2022?
Not many know this but coconut is actually a seed not a nut.
yup ur right
Do one with opening
Yaaayyy! :D
Coconut does not ripen, it mature.
i opened a coconut and the water was fizzy
the meat is still safe to eat?
Danny Cu Camera Yes the coconut water is fizzing because when it is picked, the coconut falls hard that why the water of coconut was shaked
Some coconuts have lots of water in but when you open it is all spoiled and sour.
are you a agricultural engineer?
well he says "coconuts are a fruit, or actually a nut..." so you decide for yourself.
Nonetheless i found this video a tiny bit helpful.
Is it Auatralian coconut? because there you get these types!
mine smelled like beer
When will that toupee be ripe...???
It's a drupe, not a nut
You seem to be in a different kitchen alot, whats up with that? lol
Eat meat.
