- This video gives an overview of the main types of scavenging modes used for internal combustion (IC) engines. The main types are, cross flow, uniflow and loop flow.
We also talk about the pros and cons of each and when you are likely to see them employed, for example, the uni-flow type of scavenging is mostly utilised for large two stroke marine engines.
The effects of swirl are also mentioned.

What about Fairbanks Morse 32D? Its have No blower
I'm trying to figure out a way to run an externally scavenged 2 stroke gas motor. Seems like throttling is the problem
sir I have a question why uniflow scavenging methods use in 2stroke marine diesel engine
In cross flow scavenging the inlet and outlet ports should be diametrically opposite..!!
And, usually there’s a baffle or deflector on the top of the piston…
Is cross flow for diesel or gasoline?

Are you from the midlands?
Haha, don't worry it isn't strong, I didn't notice until a couple minutes in. There were only a few giveaway words, "shape" and "inlet" stood out to me.
👍👍
Uniflow = Detroit Diesel engines, as well as their larger cousins made by EMD…
