Hands up to HP Pavilion All in One! :D - Just plug the HDMI Cable in and it shows up ASAP ! Doesn't Matter if it 's a Desk-PC or Notebook. It works right away! I'm using mine for testing other devices and also as a Second Monitor. Didn't know that the HP ENVY Model is so complicated to get this done. So anyway... i prefer HP Pavilion All in One. Really good PC and it comes with a dedicated GPU!

I'm sorry that you're having this issue. I did the demo on Windows 10. You have to hold down the button for a few moments and make sure the cable is connected to the device from which you want to display on your Envy 23
When you're using an aio as a monitor for another PC, what happens to the ports on the all-in-one whilst using it as a monitor. Are they unusable or are they detected and available to the PC?

@@diymodsnstuff5514 Lemme make a more detailed thing about what is wrong, because my keyboard doesn't seem to have that type of button, and that my All in One already has a WiFi Adapter built into the All in one itself.. I was hooking up my Desktop into my all in one Monitor, which of course works when I switch it from PC to HDMI (What my Desktop is Hooked up too), now here's the strange part, when I switch to the PC version, that internet seems to be fine. But when I switch to the HDMI AKA the Desktop one I mainly use, it shows up as having no internet, is there any way to fix this, or do I have to go buy a USB WiFi Adapter and plug it into the Desktop?
If you use this as an external monitor and the pc you plugged it into doesn’t have an operating system will it use the operating system from the all-in-one-pc that you will use as a monitor or will I have to get a key for windows for the pc I plugged into the all in one pc?
I know for the HP ENVY 23 has a mini HDMI port on the lower left close to the HDMI port that would potentially allow this. I will test and see if it works for sure.

Your HP Envy has to boot up to the Windows logon. Once you are there do not logon to Windows. Press and hold the hdmi button for a few seconds and it should work.
Make sure the device you are connecting it to is powered on and sending a signal via it's HDMI port. Hold the HDMI button for a few seconds on the HP Envy.
@@ogtrapo675 Try different HDMI cables. That worked for me. Also switch the end meaning the end connected to the desktop should be plugged to the All In On and vice versa. I know it sounds silly but this has worked for me as well.

It had to do with the windows 10 update and missing documents which I have found the solution to.... anyone still looking for answers @ me and I'll be glad to forward the missing files you need.... button Stull does not work but opening the application and pressing hadmi 1 works still
I had the same issue and I tried flipping the cable and finally using a better quality cable then it worked. You may want to confirm with another device to see if the cable works.

You need to power it on and boot into the OS in the All In One.

@@ig_ravikmr You would need to power on the HP ENVY 23 and let it boot into the OS in order to use it as a second monitor.

I use the HP display app. Otherwise the video card which in my case is Intel has software that allows you to make changes.

It will only display the from the PC you're connecting to. The PC you're connecting to need the Operating System installed for it to work,

My HDMI stopped working, i learned that uninstalling the program HP My display and installing again solved the problem. Good luck
