The mechanics of the TMJ and the alignment of the jaw and teeth play a crucial role in maintaining proper posture. When the lower jaw moves back, the head moves forward to maintain balance, and the tongue's position also contributes to overall posture by supporting the upper jaw and stabilizing the head and neck. Practicing good tongue posture, along with proper jaw alignment, can help promote better posture and prevent related issues.

So the next obvious question is: how do we correct forward head posture? If what you say is true, and it's the loss of vertical dimension causing this, then how do we restore vertical dimension? Is it even possible? Or are we doomed to have forward head posture forever, and you're simply informing us why that is?

What about wisdom teeth that have been removed? Does that have an impact too?

I came across your channel recently and it has been very informative as well as helpful!
Besides refraining from clenching your teeth, could something else be done to restore the jaw’s position?

It's silly to suggest that every case or even most cases of forward head posture is caused by a lowering of vertical dimension of the teeth. You should look into neck muscles.

I had a car accident that cause me forward head when i was 17 but also thas same year whilevi was sleeping my jaw 😩 detached it was to the side..i had to massage it while crying my one side then it kind of put in its place. The doctor's i had were so s**** they would never did xrays or something so now than im 31 while i try to open my mouth, our yawn 🥱 it feels like it once to get stuck open. One side of my face its down and the other one its normal like this 🫤. It cause me to my chin be pushes back . I noticed that because i was worrying about face aging and why one cheek was more dropped and it was because of that. They tell me that i cant get surgery because its risky my bones cant heal because im 31. It makes me mad why my dr when i was 17 didn't get me the attention i need it.

So do I have to have surgery or wear braces?

    • @slowlynow9

Orthos can restore height through many methods. Just talk to one. You also have to figure out why your clenching to begin with. Could be bad habits. But more thank likely you clench because you cannot breathe at night through nose. Fix deviated septum and clear obstructions. Bad airway can swell turbinates causing further problems. Hope help

@@slowlynow9 I have a s-shaped deviated septum. Can septoplasty really help or will it relapse soon?

@@skepticsphere5930 Orthodontics should only be done with a remodeling of the palate with orthopedics and not surgery.
Grinding the teeth comes only after.
And check your nasal breathing and swallowing.
