Richard has been at the forefront of digital media and marketing since 2005, with over five billion affiliated views and millions of subscribers and followers to his brands. During that time Richard and his fellow co-owners at www.blackriflecoffee.com saw growth in the e-commerce coffee company to the point where it required their full time attention. He resigned from Complex Networks to focus on the coffee company in the fall of 2017. The coffee company’s social channels provide entertainment, inspiration and education. Everything from how to make cold brew, how to make coffee via a chemex, diy drink recipes, diy food recipes and more. There is a focus on humor, comedy and sketch comedy based content around the brand to compliment and contrast with the serious themes and types of content from their charity work to telling the stories of the coffee company’s employees to those who have or currently still do serve their country and community.
Richard still enjoys creating content in the outdoor and adventure world. He is an avid wingsuit pilot and skydiver. He enjoys getting up into the mountains hiking, snow skiing, riding snow machines, fishing or anything to get him out from in front of a computer in the office. It's the little things in life... Cool video but it's fake, the watermelon is loaded with explosives that explode on contact. He stated his arrow was filled with explosives but you can clearly see the arrow survived miraculously unscathed at 3:09
Also, even using high explosives in that small of an amount wouldn't have caused that much of an explosion.

To detonate an explosive it takes a specific velocity or speed. The blasting cap that you might use for c4 explodes at a certain velocity which initiates the c4. For these I needed something that would detonate at 300fps but nothing less. That way dropping it or the release of the arrow itself wouldn't detonate the explosive. I am a manufacturer of explosives so it takes a little bit of understanding and experimenting with to do it properly and safe.

How did the arrow survive if it was filled with high explosives? You can see it fly out the right side at 3:09 miraculously unscathed. All of these video game funded videos are fake, like FPS russia's drone machine gun.

The explosives are in the watermelon and the arrow detonates them the video fakes it you con see the exploding front filed arrow leaving the watermelon at 3:10 when it was sead to be obliterated.

I played around with making my own fireworks when i was a teenager. I would light whole cans of pyrodex and FFFF black powder, i thought those were powerful explosions, until May 2005 when i felt explosions that are meant to kill people. Motors, rockets, rpgs and ieds, whole different experience.
The cams (pulleys) don't increase the force of the bow~ they just let a bunch of force off near full draw so it can be held drawn and aimed.

How could such a small amount of thermite explode like that? And how in the world did he get high enough temperature to ignite it?
Blasting cap? Also, Thermite is just superfine aluminium powder. The kind of Thermite that can melt things is a mixture of Thermite and iron fillings. By itself, Thermite is a highly reactive high-yield explosive.
I didn't know that a blasting cap yielded that kind of temps, but I'm no expert so...The military incendiaries manual I have has a few different instructions on how to ignite Thermite, and a blasting cap wasn't one of them, but it is a little dated.
Yeah, that's why I put a ? after it, I don't really know.
If it was Thermate, maybe a blasting cap would do the job because Magnesium is easier to light than aluminum. But I don't know if it is that powerful either.
Well technically it doesn't have to burn slow to be thermite, some types burn so fast that they explode.
That first one could be a nice penetrating explosive. Far more effective then any explosive arrow I've seen on RUclips so far. Insane!

I recommend using fletchings that make the arrow spin, they are a lot more accurate then those straight feathers

It would depend on how much force you put into the tap. Like he said too much force and it'll explode in your hand, but if you tap it lightly...it won't blow up.
But then again, I haven't blown up watermelons with an arrow do how do I know? And exploding watermelons ARE AWESOME, so still a great video

I'm leaning towards the explosive is in the watermelon. Although the watermelon is exploding on the side of the arrow strike, the shaft of the arrow is still intact, if it was filled with explosives, explosion would travel up the shaft at the same speed and disintegrate.

@PappaShmack No it's real. They would have never been able to time the impact of the arrow and the explosion in the watermelon they way they wanted it to. Or they would have had to run it several hundred times to get it done the way we see it in the video. Plus, he is far away, so the damage done to him is minimal, as the explosion isn't huge as well.
How do you make that explosive arrow? Does anyone know of a channel they teach? and may you leave me the link?

The second arrow is better because if you shoot someone it will explode at impact but if you shoot the the first one on somebody the arrow might not pierce thru the body and the back of the arrow might not impact with the body it's not going to explode
