Swapped out one mag's spring with mag guts making one of my 12rds a 14rd, and recently ordered this 17rd. That means loading less often at the range which equals more time shootin'. Man I love America. If only we didn't have crazies getting access to guns ruining it for us responsible owners who enjoy such a fun hobby. Thanks for the video. I was curious how the swappable mag bases looked. I also have a 365X. Nice!
I received my 3 mags yesterday and I really like them. I did notice that the overall height was shorter than the 15 round. That means better concealment with two extra rounds and only 3 mags to carry a full box of ammo.
Just put this on my p365 because I could only find the 15rd in coyote. Needless to say I’m glad I could never find a black one lol. Makes it pretty much full size
Just got a battle belt, need to get mag pouches and was thinking of upgrading the mag, sig gave me 2 12rds with the 365XL and I needed this vid to see if it'd fit. This will prob be my next upcoming purchase
Interesting to see the size comparison b/t 15 round and 17 round being nearly the same footprint. Seems like Sig is discontinuing the 15 round mag as it is harder to find online and no longer on their main website.
If their new 17 isnt much longer than their 12 round mag, this show that with the new spring design the 12 could hold more. Magguts has a spring and follower that makes the 12 a 14 without extension!
Now they just need to make a carbine conversion kit for the “just because we can” guys like myself. The irony of converting a compact pistol into a long gun makes it worth it alone.
Am I the only guy who says the 17 is hideous? That bevel and forward angle is aesthetically ridiculous. The baseplates of the 15 allow the mag to sit upright, for one, and the gradual rake of the magazine doesn’t produce quite a profound edge in your cover garment. From an engineering perspective, the 17rd is fantastic. From an aesthetic perspective, it’s a total blunder. I’ll take the 15rd baseplate any and every day
Disagree on the 17rnd being a better shape/design than the 15rnd. They shortened the front of the magazine and removed the texturing there, the part that actually helps with your support hand grip. They also made the back longer and a more pointed angle, the part that prints. Ergonomically they made the magazine worse for those reasons. Best thing about the new mag is being able to take mag extensions now.
Thank god I’m not the only one. Seems like a near-complete blunder apart from just two rounds of increased capacity. Why change the baseplate angle? I’m having a hard time understanding that. Does the 15rd block baseplate work on the 17rd mag? (As in, regardless of your grip frame proportions, would the 15rd baseplate even fit on the 17rd mag)
I’ve had some problems with my 17 round mag jamming with my P365. I wonder if anyone else has the same issues. Everything works fine with my 12 & 15 round mags.
Haven't shot mine with it yet but trying to get that last round in felt like my thumb was gonna break. I was wondering if it was gonna have issues feeding.
@@Superb_Legendsame that last round is painful. My mag also didn’t wanna go in with all 17 loaded. 16 was no problem. Had to open the slide so the mag would fit with 17.
Just got mine today. Not sure if the spring needs to be broken in, but I can't release my slide from locked back position when the 17 round mag is inserted into my 365x. Anyone else have this problem??
2 more rounds is great but def disagree on the looks department The angle of the 15+1 matching the magwell as opposing is much more pleasing to the eye
Right??? Even if the manufacturing process was similar, it’s still a distinct product with an established market. You know they’d still sell like hotcakes. I’m hoping a third party manufacturer will start producing them. I like the 15s so much more. And for two rounds, the cost to ergonomic loss ratio for the 17s is just not there
I’ve been trying to get somebody to test the 15 baseplates on the 17 mag bodies or at least tell me whether they’ll even fit on them. I’m not spending $60+ on something that makes the back of the grip sharper and the front of the grip smoother. That just strikes me as straight up stupid
Bought two OEM from Sig. I was able to load one with 17 rounds, but just barely. Very tight... too tight to trust. The second mag I was unable to load 17 rounds. Not because the spring wasn't "broken in" yet, but because I could hardly get 16 rounds in that one. Once loaded with 16, I can't push down on 16 at all in order to make room for a seventeenth (yes, I'm using a speedloader). I'll let them both sit awhile and see if the springs find their happy places, but for now I'd have to say don't bother buying this mag unless you're ok buying a 16 rounder... 'cuz' a 17 rounder she ain't!
@Mike Lawry I have multiple Sig 12 round and 15 round mags with magguts increased capacity to 14 and 17. They have always worked very well with 100's of rounds through each of them.
Sig makes the worst base plate sleeves than any other gun manufactures, you want good sleeves or base plates, the only one who knows how to make them is tactical dev. Been hoping sig would make the regular p365 module with the 12-rd. sleeve added to the module to get rid of the sleeve, but they refuse to do it, wish they would make a sig p365x module without the flared magwell, because pinky extensions and the 15 rd. magazine sleeves don't fit well on the flared magwell, but they refuse to do that. If sig wants to make larger magazines, they should make larger grip modules because their sleeves and base plates don't fit well. Especially the modules with flared magwells
Totally agree. All my base plates are from tactical dev. I also wish they would make the p365x module without the flared magwell but i want it so i can use the 10 round base plates on the 12 round mags so i can have the tabs to rip the mag out if needed.

I pocket carry my P365 with the flat 10rd mag; it sure is nice to have a 17rd mag for my reload!. With a chambered round, that's 28 shots on hand!!
i would carry 17rd + 1 chamber and 1 more 17rd for reload.
You need the Vuurwapen mag release bro.

Your welcome!
Great, I will buy one next week.
Sig should have made the adapter more rounded on back of grip for using with 365 X.
XTech Tactical makes great mag extensions for the p365.

That’s what I use and carry the extended 10+1 daily. Will be grabbing a few of these 17s. Carry a 15rd reload and will replace with the 17s

anyone know the Link to website to get this mag ?
Has anyone had any trouble with the 17 round failing to feed?

I have large hands I was wondering if this gives you a larger surface area to comfortably grip the firearm?
Yes it definitely does. Also adding some Talan grips would also help for larger hands.
I think both manufacturers took the orange follower from Magpul and their aftermarket glock mags.
Nice! My XL will be getting these soon!
Ordered the X, should be here this week
Wonder how much debris the witness holes on the mag with let into the mag over time
Pretty much nothing. I carry the 17 as my back up in my 5th pocket every day.
I have a mischief machine frame ( metal) for my 365xl.Will the 17 rnd fit in this ?
Yes it will.
Have you found that the mag edge closest to the 17 digs into your palm?
Not for me personally.
Looks pretty cool. Might pick one up
Do those baseplates come with the mags from sig or need bought separate

They are on sale right now haha worth it as backup mags
Academy has them for 55 dollars… not much cheaper I know but every penny counts in this economy
