Agreed! Just masterful. I can picture her still tapdancing there offscreen while all the other characters are being serious trying to solve a major issue.
@@alm2187 Spock was supposed to be without emotion. Troi senses emotion. And even though Spock was without emotion, Nimoy still acted and gave him character and personality.
These intakes are so gripping and fascinating. Because I’m expecting something unexpected to happen any moment, I’m listening and looking extra closely and notice all kinds of nuances in the acting
I was expecting you to throw in footage from "Survivors" where Troi is screaming because of the music Kevin placed in her head. But this is SO much better!
I'd give anything to have the full series boxset with every single intake seamlessly edited in throughout the whole series. You're engrossed in the stories, the same ones you've known since childhood. Then boom, out of nowhere, Diana just randomly starts tapdancing. No characters notice or react. Just weird shit keeps happening throughout the series. Would be comedic gold. Please Ryan's Edits make this happen one day. please please please.
I thought it'd have something to do with Picard's "Do it gently, but do it"... felt like Michael Scott was about to pop out of the turbolift for a "That's what she said!"
Picard has an imaginary friend named Q. Crusher made it with a ghost. Data was possessed at least twice. Troi tap dancing doesn’t even get a raised eyebrow.
this one was really good, normally the outtakes are not in the same quality as the rest of the episode and it's usually really obvious, this one I was like "well where the hell is the outtake" and then Diana started tap dancing lol
you put me on the wrong foot; I was certain it was going to be a splice with the scene from the episode The Survivors, where that Douwd put music box music in Troi's head 😅
Troi- Footloose and "certified" council to others. Meanwhile in a parallel Earth Commander Riker's long lost twin from our time a.k.a. Johnathan Frakes would insist "It never happened" or "We made it up!" or more specifically Ryan made it up!
If it hasn't already happened, I hope someone from the cast sees one of these and starts sharing it with their castmates, Marina would absolutely lose it (in the good way) if she saw this.
It looks as though by the shadow cast onto Troi of perhaps the captain or commander Riker that she's going along with one of their jokes, or matching their energy as they say in 2024 😅
I don't remember the original context, but I was expecting the time where she cried “make it stop! make it stop!”. Wouldn't have been made from an outtake, but would still be a fun edit. I guess you'd probably have to use AI or something to change the sound she's hearing. Might work with just adding Sousa on top, Idunno.
i've always wondered: why would a 24th century Frenchman be familiar with a 400 year old American marching band song? Was Picard lying? I doubt more than 5% of *Americans* in *this century* would be able to name the song and composer.
Keeping the foot tapping audio going through into the real shot afterwards was simply masterful
Agreed! Just masterful. I can picture her still tapdancing there offscreen while all the other characters are being serious trying to solve a major issue.
That's what made me absolutely lose it 😂
It synergizes so well with Picard’s thoroughly unamused remark.
"Counselor, do you feel anything else?"
"No, Captain, I'm all tapped out."
"Counselor, what do you make of this?"
"This? Why, I can make a hat or a brooch or a pterodactyl..."
Ba-doom-tish, Ba-doom-tish, Ba-diddly-diddly-doom-diddly-diddly-diddly-TSSSSS!
Also, Riker had tapped Troi two hours earlier, so there's that...
"Surely Counselor, you can't be serious."
"I am serious. And don't call me Shirley."
The tapping continuing into after cutting back to Picard and Riker, *chef's kiss*.
This is one of his better INtakes, just because Picard's line fits so perfectly as a reaction to Sirtis' spontaneous tapdancing.
Marina has x1000 times more character than Troi
They absolutely wasted her on Troi.
@@bewilderbeestieWhen they would let her start putting her own personality into Troi, that’s when Troi was at her best.
Same with Nimoy and Spock, though. It's really just characterization.
Marina has 10,000 times more personality that all of the TNG characters put together.
@@alm2187 Spock was supposed to be without emotion. Troi senses emotion. And even though Spock was without emotion, Nimoy still acted and gave him character and personality.
“The Nanites got into Troi as well! Get her to Sick Bay!”
“Good idea. Dr. Crusher is a trained dancer and can help the Nanites improve their form.”
Nurse Ogawa, get her some tap shoes!
@@SwordfishSpike50 50ccs of caffeine! And get her something to wear! Tasteful but light!
"No jazz hands on my bridge, dammit! Security, arrest Counselor Troi!"
"I cannot express what I am sensing through words. Time for interpretive dance!"
There was a character like that on an episode of Lower Decks.
"I'll let my body confess the words that I can't express, now it's time for the dream ballet"
Very nice transition to the intake there
I was still expecting more well known one from this scene "You know who he is, don't you?" from Data.
It looked like a face morph into herself. Interesting.
"Our systems are still being tapped!"
Wow, she can tap dance.
The Dancing Doctor has some competition. The Tapping Counselor.
I’d go with the Tapping Telepath
The Capering Counselor.
I'd tap that
Ooh, slick blending of the two Troi shots at 1:00. I didn't notice it until after a second watch.
She really tapped into their emotions.
Why am I laughing at this joke?
These intakes are so gripping and fascinating. Because I’m expecting something unexpected to happen any moment, I’m listening and looking extra closely and notice all kinds of nuances in the acting
“It is Stars and Stripes Forever, sir, by John Philip Sousa, the Skrillex of his day”
Never leave the tap running.
...Oh, I get it

God damn that Bob Kelso!
HAHAHA!! Did NOT expect that! LOVED having the tapping sound continue into the rest of the scene.
I thought it'd have something to do with Picard's "Do it gently, but do it"... felt like Michael Scott was about to pop out of the turbolift for a "That's what she said!"
LOOK OUT "Dancing Doctor" Crusher, here comes "Dancing Deanna" Troi
I love the look Riker is giving Troi at the end
"Oh this crazy woman, one day I'm gonna marry her."
It's funny to imagine if this is the way it was originally, and everybody just carries on as normal.
Picard has an imaginary friend named Q. Crusher made it with a ghost. Data was possessed at least twice. Troi tap dancing doesn’t even get a raised eyebrow.

I thought it'd be the return of Mariah Carey, but I guess it's still a little early for that.
She’s been getting tap lessons from Beverly
This must be the one where she was possessed by that alien.
Good one 😂😂😂
Troi- Footloose and "certified" council to others. Meanwhile in a parallel Earth Commander Riker's long lost twin from our time a.k.a. Johnathan Frakes would insist "It never happened" or "We made it up!" or more specifically Ryan made it up!
Ryan. Given that there's multiple outtakes for certain scenes, i'd love to see an edit with all of them together for a longer intake vid.
*sigh* Troi is being mind-controlled AGAIN. Third time this month.
At this point she's doing it on purpose, like getting stuck in a washer.
Jokes aside, I really like the camera work in the first part.
Troi: Why do you think I have no rhythm?
Riker. First, I'm watching you dance. Second, you are trying to dance to John Philip Souza.
If it hasn't already happened, I hope someone from the cast sees one of these and starts sharing it with their castmates, Marina would absolutely lose it (in the good way) if she saw this.
I thought Beverly was the tap dancing doctor.
How come she didn't do the dance scene in Data's Day with Crusher and Data?
Awesome😂🖖
It looks as though by the shadow cast onto Troi of perhaps the captain or commander Riker that she's going along with one of their jokes, or matching their energy as they say in 2024 😅
It'd be awesome if there was an outtake of Data dancing after the nanites possessed him.
must resist urge to add Never gonna give you up by Rick Asley to the audio
They''ll have to tap a keg after this one!
When I first saw this episode when I was a kid I thought Data called it "bad music". Didn't realize my mistake until years later.
I think they could have done the entire series like this!
I can't watch this without thinking of Dayjob Orchestra.
Needs more apple juice 😄
Who has two thumbs and loves stars and stripes forever? Bob Kelso!
It's John Philips Sousa. He was the Skrillex of his day.
This is what happens when you buy your starships from IKEA.

Okay. That was pretty cute.
Troi is clearly an android run via the ship's computer. Funny, this exact episode is playing on Pluto right now.
It almost seems like that was cut from The Price not Evolution
Such as it is indeed
I honestly thought they were going to dub in that music box from "The Survivors."
Wait I thought the Dr was the one called the Tap Dancing Dr.?
Hey I thought the bridge was carpeted
What's an "intake"?
It's an outtake merged back into the production cut.
@@dycedargselderbrother5353 Thank you!
ALMOST sounds like he's saying "an American composer of bad music..." at 0:11
Just a little too critical, Data? 🤗

Where was the edit?
Dr Kelso is not happy about it
This scene makes no sense even without the tap dancing. Let's shut off power to the bridge... ummm.... what now?

I know Patrick Stewart is a great actor but I feel like that response to random music playing was unnecessarily angry lol.
Not one "I'd tap that" joke?!?
We’re all tapped out
I was considering it.
Something like, "Oh, someone got 'tapped', alright."
"Captain I sense no hostile emotion. No friendly feeling either. Nothing" So, Troi, you are a worthless waste of space.
Picard; I can't deal with this s**t right now counselor. Number One, I'll leave your future wife to you Mr Troi.
