    got the debut gig of our x18 tonight, so far having done research and played around with it this could be the answer to all our issues and more, thanks Behringer

    Thanks for the X18 videos! My band is putting a new P.A. together and we just purchased a new X-Air X18 along with powered mains and subs and the Behringer personal monitor amps for in ears. Now my question is, can you guy's do a complete tutorial series in a real wold band environment for someone who has never mixed (or in my case hasn't mixed sound in over 20 years), showing everything from how to connect all of the cabling to sound checking and mixing? How and when to use what effect, how to mix drums and effects such as when and how to use a gate on a kick etc.... The tutorials you guy's have now are great but just not complete.

    This seems like the answer to all my prayers. Haha. Just ordered. I suck at EQ.

    Hi Phil, as a new convert to the X Air, this (and all the other vids) is really useful. On this particular one, would it be possible to do a similar HowTo where you ring out the monitors using a pink noise generator as the input?

    I've watched this several times, but I am guessing because the video is nearly five years old (and android) that the app has changed a lot, and probably the iPad version is different anyhow.
    I can not for the life of me find the 100 band eq in the output / bus sends on my version using the latest App on an iPad 6. Can you tell me where to find it please, or better still do a video using the iPad with the latest app, and actually show where you are finding the buttons to press on the screen, as some of the names you mention here just do not appear on the main screen of the iPad app at all, so that makes it impossible to follow this tutorial, and remove the feedback before it even happens. I used my XR18 desk for the first time a couple nights back live, and was at the mercy of the feedback monster because even though two of us at the gig have the same system, neither of us know where to locate that eq and therefore how to get rid of the feedback using our iPad controllers. Note I also have the X Touch Desk, but again I am only just starting to find my way around that, as this whole world of digital mixers, with iPad / android controllers is a whole different monster to guys like myself who grew up with old school desks that take up half a room.

    When you lower the frequency in the bus master to reduce feedback, are you also reducing frequencies if you are playing a track via the bus?

  • @ajh67a

    Thanks for your lessons, although I do not speak enough English, I understand, my question is:
    I understand that is possible by software x-air edit control all functions of the mixer, using a network cable (CAT 5). if this is true, it could be the mixer on stage and laptop to 10 -15 meters, in front of the stage.

    Does this subtractive eq affects the overall eq of each instrument? lets say you substract high frequencies from the vocal channel because of feedback...is your vocal channel going to miss those frequencies so you vocalist will sound less crisp??

    • @behringer
      @behringer  8 лет назад +2

      That's correct, if you pull out a specific frequency of a vocal channel then that frequency will be reduced in that input channel and wherever else you have it routed as "POST EQ."

  • @divasmom65
    @divasmom65 8 лет назад +1

    when the blue line indicator go's up to tell you what frequency to pull back' if your playing live by the time look down to see which one it is' its gone' is there a setting to make to make the blue indicator stay up longer?

    • @behringer
      @behringer  8 лет назад +4

      Just to clarify, the blue lines aren't meant to specifically tell you which frequencies to pull back, they are just an indication of the frequencies present in the selected channel represented in real time. (Hence Real Time Analyzer, or RTA) The idea is to use this data along with what you are hearing to consider which frequencies require adjusting in your EQ and then remove as necessary.
      There are additional options for adjusting the RTA bar decay time in the PC version of our X AIR EDIT software using the RTA Utility feature.

    Is the 31 band GEQ in the busmaster for the whole system? When I pull out problematic frequenties in the busmaster, will it affect the whole foh sound too? how can i pull out freqs only for that mic? can i put a 31 band as inserts?

    • @behringer
      @behringer  7 лет назад +2

      With X AIR all 6 AUX outputs and the Main LR Output have a built in 6-band PEQ or 31-band GEQ/TEQ so you can control your signals. You can also individually EQ each channel at it's source.

    I'm assuming that the external router is not connected by wire to the modem, is this correct? I have a problem that I am using this in a place with a number of walls (cinder block and concrete) plus a fair bit of distance. I get the ball and first bar of 3 in the wifi logo on my tablet. Will doing this give me a better signal and minimize any delay/latency? Any recommendations on routers under $200 that would work the best. It sounds as if what you are describing is what they call a wireless bridge. Is that correct? Thanks.

    • @behringer
      @behringer  8 лет назад

      +Nathan .Vanderslice We actually were using the WiFi Client feature for this video demonstration Nathan. This is not a wireless bridge as only one wireless network is present.
      It is possible that using a more robust external router (via WiFi Client or directly connecting your X AIR to your router) can help alleviate network congestion and may reduce any delays you may be experiencing. Most routers under $200 will work, the key is setting up your network properly to handle your workload.

    Can this be done on a X32 as well? I don't recall to see the rta on the eq sections on neither x32 full or x32 producer that I have, if would be totally cool if you can do the same thing?

    Heeeej Great product but i have a question is it possible to link the bussen to creat 3 stereo busses and 1 stereo from the headphones?
    If so please explain in a video
    thanks

    • @behringer
      @behringer  8 лет назад +1

      Yes this is possible Eric, you can stereo link you AUX outputs (1/2, 3/4, 5/6) to get three stereo pairs. This can be done by selecting a bus in the lower right hand corner of the X AIR software.apps and then clicking on the scribble strip for the Bus Master. Then just click the config tab and LINK to stereo link your busses.
      You can also set your headphone output to monitor there stereo bus pairs (or any Bus individually), but this will be a duplicate of one of your three stereo pairs.
      Hope this helps!

    Hey, you are great. Maybe you'll see this, or someone can help me here... I'm scouring the internet, but on my "Set Up" page of XAir for PC it doesn't recognize my new X18. I'm thinking this is the first step of all first steps, can't even check the firmware or anything until my computer sees the that the thing is plugged in! It says "Searching Devices" in blue text under a dim Connect button. I just can't figure it out. Can't wait to get started. Next step is to record into Studio One, then out into the real world for some gigs! Please help! Thanks.

Once you've done that, just click the EQ tab at the top of the page and select the GEQ or TEQ button on the right hand side of the EQ section. You also have access to the RTA feature there as well.
