    I have cicada killer wasps and they are extremely aggressive ... I got stung 5 times in 2 weeks and my husband just got his 5th sting today. I just ordered a bee suit and I'm going to get these guys for good!

    I'm gonna charge them rent. I'll give them my backyard cuz it's too hard to share the space with them. Even hearing them crashing into my windows gives me the creeps.

    Live and let live has been my approach to them for the past 4 years. No problem when it was one, then the next year when there were just a few of them. Last year there were quite a lot of them but even that population has been dwarfed by this generation. Currently I have at LEAST 100 of them swarming the area around my patio and as they are just emerging there will guaranteed be more every day this week. They are mating today and flying into windows, accidentally running into me when I'm out there. I don't want to kill anything, And my plan was to wait until they dig their humongous burrows, stick a water bottle bottle over there holes at night and then relocate them the next morning but that means I have to wait weeks before they're at that stage. And that means I'm not going to be able to use my yard the entire time. They're not aggressive at all, just stupidly accidentally in my face, but I can't walk across my yard barefoot for fear of stepping on them and getting a defensive sting. Heck I almost sat on one on a lawn chair this morning. This has to stop. I considered wasp spray and again I don't want to kill them at all but if I did want to kill them I'm not sure that I could even do it with wasp spray since it's a stream and they're just frenetically flying around. I'm a pretty good aim but I don't think I could get enough of them to make a difference without soaking my entire yard in pesticide

    I know they are harmless and their sting isn’t that bad, but I can’t have them around because I have an irrational fear of bees/wasps especially big ones and can’t act normal when they are around.

      I have read professional entomology scientists saying the sting is very severe, like a small caliber gunshot wound. People who say it's mild took stings shortly after it discharged its venom into a cicada.

      While they don't usually pose a threat to humans, they can intrude on your landscaping causing damage.

  • @litsci1877
    @litsci1877 Год назад +1

    Do not kill these creatures. They are important pollinators, they aren't aggressive, and if you get rid of pollinators, you won't have flowers and veg anyway. Just learn to work around them and at times of day/season when they're least active. Also, do not dump poisons into your yard; they wash off and contribute to waterway and water pollution problems.

    • @doityourselfpestandweedcon8729
      @doityourselfpestandweedcon8729  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you for your comment! It's true that these bugs are very important and they have a part to play. We definitely do not want them to all disappear, but if they are intruding on people's lives then there are ways to repel them. We also offer organic products like the one used in this video so that your landscaping, gardens, and water won't be affected or polluted. If you have any questions please feel free to email, call, or stop by our store!

      The problem is where they choose to nest. I've got a growing issue with them right off my patio and while they may not actually "attack" to the point of stinging, it's pretty obvious from the agitated behavior they don't like intruding humans. Sorry, that's my space and I'm top of the food chain. (Mine don't even seem to live up to their names ... obnoxiously loud Cicadas are another issue around here. lol)
