Is that a cast or MIM part? I thought they said there were no cast or mim parts in the Girsan but I could be mistaken.

Doesn't appear to be MIM, look more like cast. I wasn't able to find any info on it either. From where it broke, it looked porous.

Other than these issues you had. How's the pistol been shooting for you? And what should i go ahead and change out on their 4.25-inch 10mm model? I am looking on possibly purchasing their 10mm model

Since fitting and replacing the failed part, the pistol is shooting fine...with that said, I haven't put enough rounds through it. I would upgrade the trigger and add an ignition kit.

@redarmory ok. Thank you for the information I will write that down and get it in my notes if I do decide to purchase that pistol

I own and have owned good 1911's and 2011's. For many years. For a range toy my Wife bought me a Girsan for my birth day two years ago. Never have I shot such a piece of Carp! I ended up putting all Wilson Combat and EGW parts in it and no matter how hard I tried, it was purely terrible. I've been Smithing my personal and other peoples 1911's for over 40 years and never ever have had a gun so out of speck that nothing really helped. so soft was the slide, frame and bbl. that once tightened, it would completely shoot itself loose within 200 rounds. Terrible heat treat. Extractor tunnel was in the wrong location, and that were just the first issues. Pure garbage!!!
I ended up putting it on my anvil and fixing it permanently with a 5 pound sledge. It was far too poor of a gun to sell to anyone. I couldn't do that to anyone!
I've owned or own to this day, Colts, Smith and Wesson, Wilson combat even before they became Wilson Combat, Les Baer, Staccato Rock and a few others. Some were higher quality than others. Girsan was the worst in quality I've ever had the displeasure of handling. Even the4 claim that the slide and frame were forged. Forged slides do not have sand cast cavities in them!

I have limited experience with the Girsan pistol they produced. I mostly dealt with their shotgun. I agree with you, from the three I've tested recently, the Girsan was at the bottom of the list. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Hopefully, it will help others make an informed purchase.
