Mario Party - Full Mini-Game Rankings

- Hello everybody, SlimKirby here, and it's time to do some Mario Party rankings.....again!
It's been awhile since I've done something like this, and if people were expecting a brand new list from a game I haven't covered before, I do apologize for making you wait a bit longer, but I wanted to revisit some old ground and give a slightly different but more complete spin on this. Instead of taking a look at just the worst 10 and the best 10 minigames, let's also look at the sweet chaos of the middle as we try to rank every single mini-game in Mario Party 1, from worst to best!
This was a pretty big endeavor, and I've technically had this list made for a couple of months now, but realistically, now that I've finished one, I think I can get to work in making additional ones now that I know the workload that is involved...just need to manage my time appropriately. Plus, now that this one is completed, I'm actually pretty excited about making more, so maybe this will become a once-a-month type of thing. Please do not hold me to that though, as many things can come up over time. This was a lot of fun to do though and seeing how this list ultimately stacked up, so I hope you guys will look forward to this as well.
As said in the video, this list is ENTIRELY my opinion, so just because I feel one way about a game, ranking, or decision, doesn't mean I'm saying this is the definitive ranking. These are just my thoughts. Feel free to discuss your own rankings or thoughts in the comments below. Or, if you want to be around when I do mini-game tier lists, every Friday at around 2 PM EST, I do Mario Party streams on my Twitch channel, and from time to time I'll work on a future game's tier list, and these lists will help me in deciding the future rankings I do here. They will still be based on my personal thoughts, but additional input will give me more things to think about.
So with that out of the way, I hope you guys enjoy the video and any future lists I decide to do for this channel!
Note: For those wondering about the thumbnail for this video, on Twitter I asked what 4 minigames come to mind when thinking about Mario Party 1, and those 4 games were the most common answers.

It's nice to see another person after Nathaniel Bandy do one of these lists.
The only good thing about box mountain mayhem is you can get a good amount coins, that is if you can snipe the bags.
Awesome stuff. This shows I didn't count the games lol. I thought it was 50 PLUS Bumper Ball Maze. As nostalgic as I am for MP1, I don't like most of the control stick minigames and coin-loss penalty ones so of course those were ranked lower, with my favourites above that being more interchangeable than this list ranking.
I also think the original version of the game counts both versions of Slot Car Derby as two different mini-games, so that's another reason why you probably thought it was 50+1.

I’ve actually been following you for some time. I used your older videos as inspiration for crafting my ideal minigame list for _The Top 100_ (so glad Nintendo and Nd Cube gave the concept another try to much better results with _Superstars_ , by the way).
So, yeah. I’ll join you next week for _Mario Party 2_ ! 😊
P.S. Do you intend to update your board and series rankings? Or is it just minigames?
This will NOT be a weekly series, lol. These videos take way too long to make and I already make normal Let's Play videos on top of this. This will have to be a monthly series at least, and even then, I can't guarantee a month for each video either. Just got too many other things going on.
For now I'm just focusing on mini-games. Maybe I'll revisit the other stuff in the future, but for now, just minigames.

Nice ranking, Slim! I definitely think your tastes have changed for the better, and I'm glad there's no more cringy skits :).
I do think Deep Sea Divers or Treasure Divers could’ve been included in Superstars, if the game was more fleshed out and allowed you to punch or kick the AI or other player’s character to drive up the intensity. It could’ve had more consequences if you punched the character in order for them to drop the treasure chest while still trying to avoid the sea creatures and get to the surface for air, rather than just only blocking the character from getting to the surface.
Overall, I loved this list and I hope to watch Mario Party 2 at some point when I’m not so busy.

Also, I thought your skits were fun, creative and a good way to break up the ranking segments, with Mario party 5 and 6s being my favorates and 7 and 9 providing intresting changes of filming location.
Honestly, despite not holding up as well these days, the minigames had a good combination, and they’re all interesting to battle on, so, what a way to start!
The only problem is seeing pedal power being higher rated than bumper balls
Slot machine & bowser slots is identically the same game you might as well rank it as the same list because it’s basically the same exact concept but they’re is some skill involved with it if you’re very persistent with the timing premise ❤
Great ranking! As you went through the minigames, there was a question I had in mind when you talked about Bombsketball: why isn't this here in Superstars when NDCube/Nintendo had an opportunity to improve on it during development? Apparently, it slipped their minds and they still picked Piranha Pursuit over that particular minigame. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I find that literally NOTHING has changed with Piranha Pursuit. It's still the same abysmal minigame with a biased win toward the solo player, no matter how hard the team even tries. Personally, I would've liked everything you suggested for Bombsketball, making the minigame a bit longer and perhaps setting a point limit for victory. Just my two cents.
Piranha's Pursuit is like...a little better in Superstars for the Team of 3, at least against an AI, but not much. It's still a very bad game, lol.

Box mountain mayhem is probably my least favorite minigame in this game
I take it back. Slot car derby is my least favorite mini game. When it came up at the end of Mini-Game Island i almost cried. I couldn't beat it for so long. I was so upset that you had to beat that minigame of all games. That's really one of my only complaints with Mario Party is that game and the placement of it in Minigame Island
Ooo buried treasure is fantastic. Its like eatsa pizza which i loooove from MP SS. I'm pretty sure its a MP3 game which I got like 2 days ago. Super happy to see it ranked this high

I would love this for MP2 and MP3. Very exciting
I think 36 coins is fine for what it is in whack a plant because bowser steals a ton of coins in Rainbow castle if you’re luck is bad I think the developers knew what they were going with that for that reason if I’m being completely honest ❤

Actually Slim, Bumper Ball Maze generally & technically is a 1-player minigame
not in the same context as the other 1-Player mini-games, which I thought I emphasized in the video.
But in the mini-game house, it’s in the 1-player mini-game category
@@nicolasasta134 You don't play it when you land on a 1-Player Mini-game space in the actual board game, therefore it's very different from the other 1P mini-games.
By the way, are you going to be ranking the Mario Party Top 100 and Mario Party Superstars versions of these mini-games?
Perhaps but we'll have to wait to find out. Remember he doesn't take requests either.

@@SlimKirby, just a fun fact about the original.
In the Japanese, European, and Australian versions of the original game, both Musical Mushroom and Balloon Burst had a unique music piece named Move to the Mambo, that was replaced in the American version, the former using Coins of the World, and the latter using Faster than All.
Wait a second, I thought the Minigame was called Deep Sea Salvage.
