I think Bowser's Big Blast was way too low. That minigame is such a classic. I used to hate luck-based minigames, but now I appreciate the element of surprise they add.
For me I feel like having at least 1 or 2 luck base mini-games is fine. It won't effect the person who is clearly dominating the mini-games to begin with.
Very good list Slim! I love this game very much myself and while I wouldn't quite put it as my #1 MP myself (That honor would go to 6 IMO and I would probably also rank 3 just a smidge above it), it's still an amazing game with so many great minigames and memorable boards. Happy to see this video from you Slim!
SlimKirby, awesome ranking of the mini-games in Mario Party 2! This game had a great selection of mini-games and I enjoyed them quite a lot. I do have one question for you if I may, but if you don’t remember, no worries. I never knew about the games Driver’s Ed and Rainbow Run. What does one must do to unlock them?
This is EASILY my favorite Mario Party! I am sooooo excited for this video!! I love love love Mecha Marathon. Crazy to see it this low Bumper balls on the hilly stage is actually super fun. The only time I enjoy that game tbh #2 deserved it. Great minigame Also #1 was very surprising! It's a super good minigame though and I respect that choice Thanks for showing that second list at the end. Super cool
These Mini-Game rankings are a lot of fun! Keep it up. Btw, does anyone know what the name of the song at the end is? It sounds familiar, but I can't figure it out.
I remember getting Mario Party 2 on the WiiU Virtual Console, and had a pretty decent time with it. I do feel it’s overrated in a few cases, as these days, it wouldn’t be THE BEST game, but still a great improvement over the first, especially for the boards. It works when you have 4 players, so you can see who’ll fall behind, having a blast in some cases, and the costumes in the boards and duel minigames are a very cool concept, never used afterwards. Minigames-wise, there’s once again, a good combination, of returning and new minigames, but ones like Handcar Havoc in 2 aren’t that great, at least the original appeared in Superstars, though Speed Hockey, along with other minigames, appeared in both the Top 100 and Superstars.
I’d say that I’m very satisfied with the ranking, even though Bowser’s Big Blast is too low and I don’t think Lava Tile Isle is that bad (Though, I remember how frustrated I got with it in minigame coaster.) Rakin’ ‘em in can go to hell, I can rarely win that minigame. Great choice for #1 too, easily one of the best minigames in Mario Party 2.
Minigames in The Top 100: Handcar Havoc Hexagon Heat Looney Lumberjacks Minigames in Superstars: Archer-ival Balloon Burst Bumper Balloon Cars Dungeon Dash Hot Rope Jump Look Away Quicksand Cache Sky Pilots Sneak n Snore Hammer Slammer Roll Out The Barrels Minigames in Both: Bowser's Big Blast Bumper Balls Cake Factory Dizzy Dancing Honeycomb Havoc Mecha-Marathon Roll Call Shell Shocked Slot Car Derby Speed Hockey This excludes the ones that were in MP1, but not all of them.
I just recently beat the mini-game coaster on hard on the Wii version. Something I didn't notice about Skateboard Scamper until recently is that when you come to the dips in the terrain, if you skate down the downward slopes and jump over the upward slopes, you can gain a little bit of distance on your opponents. I can beat the AI fairly regularly doing this and it made me appreciate Skateboard Scamper a bit more, though it is still an average mini-game in my opinion. One game I like despite it being bad is Torpedo Targets. I feel like that game was an extremely fun concept ruined by bad implementation. Mainly, I feel like it would have been much better if there wasn't only one target at a time. Piloting the sub effectively is unnecessarily difficult as well.
I don't think I like Sky Pilots and Filet Relay as much as shown here, but the fact that I do get a bit of enjoyment from them shows the quality of this game, and why it is probably my favourite Mario Party game. I still hate, however, how Mecha-Marathon has prevented me from beating Mini-Game-Coaster all these years later - hey, I'm not much of a button-masher. Also your no.1 is my friend's no.1 [or close to], which was shown in the commentary vids I did elsewhere.
What's crazy is that I suck so badly at Mecha Marathon in MP2, yet for some reason in Superstars I'm actually pretty damn good at it. I don't think I've ever gotten anything less than 48.25 yards in the Superstars version of it.
@@viddysgamingviddyos4710 All I can think is that either the Switch button mashing is more generous compared to the N64 and GameCube, or maybe I'm getting better at button mashing without even fully knowing it.
@@NickTheEnlightened I think it's probably the Switch one, because I played MP2 on the Wii U Virtual Console [before I could record footage off my N64] and I still struggled with button-mashing.

2 is always amazing to go back to and enjoy. Love how the brought Horror Land back for Superstars.
They also brought Space Land back.

Mario Party 2 is also my favorite Mario Party game in the series! It's also the first one I played in my life with 2 friends and my older brother! :)
This was my favorite Mario Party game and I found you through your Banjo Tooie let's play.
I swear torpedo targets should be the worst mini game and should get more hate
Are you going to rank every Mario Party game at the end?
im not even joking, i expected number one to be tile driver because i missed the part where you talked about it
The title screen music in mario party 2 slaps thb
