I love GG1s. They’re so unique.
one fell down a station and went back in service months later, i think it got cut in half
alexander1485 yep I heard about that. Pretty sure it was during a presidential inauguration.
Impressive locomotive and review, I think this is the first time in many years that BLI has released a GG1 locomotive.
GG1's Are The 👑 Kings Of All Electric Trains In The World
Queen Of The Rails
And the little Joes!
Thanks for this review !
I once had one of their first (2003) GG1's Tuscan red 4916 and the bogie frames started crumbling like biscuits ......... it had a few other (minor) issues like some burr's in the paint.
Nevertheless I just purchased one of their new tooled GG1's 4807, it is on its way and I hope it runs and sounds as good as it looks. Fingers Crossed.
I still have an old (2004) Cab Forward, diecast metal K4s Pacific and RSD15 diesel with Quantum Sound, they still look good and do a good job but the K4s and RSD15 needed some repairs as well in that long period of time, you can see and hear them on my RUclips.
I have two of the first GG1's from BLi and have issues with the bogies as well. Let us know if the bogies on the new model are the same. Thanks.
Looking good. Can't wait for your new layout. Good luck.
Very nice locomotive! Brodway limited is always the way to got if your looking for a rather pricey but amazing locomotive! Cool vid keep up the good work.
Looks great!
thanks!
@@jlwii2000 i have 4825
awesome video
I was waiting for this😁😁
Beautiful model from BLI. I'm assuming it is HO scale. Hope your move will be over soon so you can have your layout up and running again!
Yep, HO scale.
That’s one of my favorites
Another great video. Keep up the great work.
Very nice locomotive and review ! Bit surprised it has a brown roof. I agree with you on the box ......... I am not impressed by the box and it is too tight.
Also my new BLI Buff Broad Stripe 4807 with no brown roof but looks the part, well made and detailed and runs and sounds well too.
In the meantime I also purchased a BLI P5a number 4703 also nicely detailed and meant as a XMas present. Cheers, Jan
I never knew that they had a GG1 in HO scale forum
they’re a very popular locomotive
From G to Z and in between... I had them all.
I wish they made these in Conrail! Might have to patch a PC unit. Hopefully they will do other GG1 variations, like the high intake versions
@William McGeehan Precision Scale made a brass version of the high intake GG1 but they are rare, expensive, and dont look good with the BLI ones. I have about 10 GG1s in Amtrak, Conrail, and NJ DOT. I've wanted to do a Conrail patch with the PRR style white letters, but the two Penn Central ones offered were retired a year before my summer 1979 modelling date. No one makes PRR GG1 number decals in white, except for maybe some obscure manufacturer. I've seen one sheet of such decals with no name on them.
I know this is an old comment, but if you're okay with some custom work, a friend if mine has the high intake grilles on Shapeways as of a couple months ago
That's a beautiful locomotive. I wish Broadway Limited Models did no sound....... I sure would buy one of those GG-1.
Question about paint, BLI is usually good about accuracy but I have never seen the two tone roof stripe. Is that prototypical? Did EVERY other model get it wrong? You usually don’t see a complete overhead shot of real ones & they are usually dirty, but I have never seen a two toned gg1. It looks funny & inaccurate to me.......
It's a pre-war version
Great review
GG1 hauled both passenger and freight thru Conrail, until they decided they didnt want to use electrics on freight train after that they sold the ones they still had to Amtrak and NJ Transit were they spent the rest of their lives until 1983 when the last one was retired from NJ Transit. Amtrak retired their last one in 1981.
can always count on BLI to lighten my wallet!
Can you give me more info on the "PULL METER" from Micro Mark. Can't find it online. Thanks.
I have a Lionel ho GG1 that was made for Halmark?
Can you do a track mobile from bli
So do you what of feeder wires do you use for your mrc booster, the Bachmann ones for different wires , would like to know thanks
Cool Model Train jlwii2000.
I am not sure about seeing the model packaged in styrofoam, probably both ways are bad, but the styrofoam seems the worst to use. Filling up our land fills quicker.
Who even throws away their locomotive boxes? I always keep em for easy storage.
@@billylauwda9178 I have had the styrofoam and the sponge like material start falling apart. I have 3 sets of Con-rail N Scale that both the styrofoam and sponge falling apart in their cardboard boxes and what a mess. I haven't had them in the heat, sun light but in the cool dry concrete basement. So I have had to throw the styrofoam and sponge away. The sponge fell into almost dust and the styrofoam fell apart like tiny balls that stick to everything.
Wish these RUclips comments would allow one to post pictures to show proof.
@@SFCRambo60 that never happened to me, interesting.
@@SFCRambo60 I dont know...guess depends on how you store them. I have boxes with foam from loco's I have had since the late 70's and they are still fine. FYI I do not throw any of my rolling stock/loco boxes away. Helps with storage, moving and resale!
nice content
I think it's better to judge the slow speed when the camera is not moving. Just my $0.02...
Why did you lay it on eztrack? Because of move?
I hardly ever seen anything good about BLI paragon decoders on the Model Railroader forum.
Fart at 1:08 makes the show!
lol, that is my kid playing with the spring door stop directly above the layout room.
Like watching a train wreck
