100% agree withy you! I recently invested in M Performance brakes and wheels for my car, and some folks in my Facebook group chat had strong opinions about spending that much on a nearly 7-year-old vehicle. One person even pointed out that many G30s are now on their 3rd or 4th owner, which blew my mind. I couldn’t believe how many people are opting for low-quality aftermarket parts-even for basic maintenance-on their premium German sport sedans. As the original owner of my 5 Series, I plan to keep this car for a long time. For me, spending a little extra on OEM+ upgrades brings both peace of mind and true enjoyment. When the time eventually comes to upgrade, I can proudly say I did my best to care for the car and enhance it the right way. To me, that’s 100% worth it and hopefully the next owner will see it the same way. Leave things better than the way you find them!

I agree with you on mods add values to the right buyer. I have a 2018 Sti and it’s modded and done right. A couple of people where I live knows me and of me and my Sti. I have a couple people saying if you ever wanna sell your car I will buy for more than it’s worth. I keep that in my mind which I am not considering selling my car anytime soon or ever. It’s paid off and I’ve owned it brand new in 2017 and I still love the car. But I get what you mean by saying mods add values. By the way always love your videos I’m kinda behind on most of your videos after you sold the Sti 😢. Can’t wait to see more cars and videos in the future.

You converted me to a bmw and the one I really want is the g80 m3 and I been thinking about it and grinding for it so I can get it next year summer. In my honest opinion your car is the Porsche gt3 and we all want you to get it and be happy! I know we all can’t wait to see that car on the channel being modified by you

The sacrifice of specing your own M3 isn't the F80 - it's living with the G80's front end

Man how things have changed over the years.
The one mod that will make me walk away is an aftermarket steering wheel.
I don’t know why I hate this mod but I do.
Anyways, aftermarket parts have come a long way. They’re typically engineered to be better quality than OEM. So I can definitely see the potential in added value… to the right buyer.
    👍🏻

Just enjoy your nice f80 for a while longer, save for your gt product and try/document a track day or autox for a new experience. 0.02$

I agree with the documentation aspect. Seeing both the sti build and the f80 builds, I would buy any of your cars in a heartbeat. The quality of parts plus quality of installation. If I had endless money I would trust you as a build advisor for all of them haha

Imo.. it depends if you add mods that finish a car in personal taste then you would need to find a person that has the same taste. In that circumstance one might want to take off certain mods to make it his or her own, then in that case the buyer may want to discount price. However, if again imo if the mods done are preventive maint and as close as possible to oem + per say then imo it does add value because its things that a buyer does not have to do anymore and now they just have to add certain mods to make it his or hers to their taste. I'm in the same boat you are right now.. but from experience i too have always sold car with mods for a good price. One thing i will say is everybody wants a f80 but nobody wants to pay. They want to buy for a price of a rebuilt title for a clean title. Lol. I love my car, but if i can sell it i am also going porsche. Good luck to us f80 owners that actually want to sell that actually have a car thats not beat to hell per say. Hope you do get a gt3, i just want a 997 but time will tell..

It’s from the auto solutions ssk, 95a front bushings and rear Turner bushing. Increased nvh from that all, which is to be expected with poly bushings.

Maintenance modifications are worth "something", anything outside of that is modifications/improvements done to your preferences and taste which most won't purchase at a premium. "Done right" is also a threshold that is different from person to person, not worth taking the risk a lot of the time. My M4 is heavily modified and even I want a close to bone stock new vehicle haha. I have yet to find a seller with a modified car to purchase another heavily modified vehicle, nice juxtaposition there lol

Hey I totally get it. But all it takes is that one person to appreciate what was done and want it. My point in this whole video is saying that yes, it takes a specific person. Yes, your market is greatly reduced. But! If you are willing to wait and build a solid example, they will find it.

Data point: I went from a G80 Comp for a year to a F80 6MT earlier this year and I wouldn't go back.
The G80 while being faster, loaded with more tech and available in xDrive, just didn't scratch that itch that I get with the F80. The F80 "feels" more balanced, agile, and smaller while still retaining the 4 door practicality and hips of the rear end styling. I think the driving dynamics of the F8x cars are peak BMW, and I'm not concerned with straight line speed coming from a F10 M5 previously. Give it another year or two and you'll start to see good examples like yours fetching way more money as people realize G8X is not all that it's advertised to be. That's just my 2 cents, you are all free to disagree.

Appreciate the feedback! Always a breath of fresh air to hear actual experience. I do agree and have said the same about the driving dynamics of the f80 over the g80. Thankfully have decent seat time in them in all trim levels of the g80, so I have a solid understanding of what I think of it. We will see. Still loving the f80 and how it currently sits.

Always keep the stock parts. but back to stock and sell, Make some money back in secondary market and let it go!

@ With ur following and fan base it’s easy to understand that, But for us plebs with regular mods it’s abit harder when the market is how it is right now lol

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  4 дня назад

Not true. Besides the STI, all previous cars I didn’t have a following at all. Most people when selling need to sell, so they part out to make the sale go quicker. They usually don’t have the freedom to sit and wait for the right buyer.
