This is the most bizarre car collection I have seen. For example, you have 4 different Porsches, but none of them is super fast. You could have replaced some of them with a Taycan Turbo GT which is both practical and super fast. No model S Plaid either.
You should really contact Australia and order a 5 door version of the JIMNY. It is also my dream car by the way, we only get the 5 door version of the JIMNY.
If you're buying used in uk it's probably difficult to find something other than black/gray/silver etc. I've been to a few cities in UK and they don't like to stand out at all.

A true enthusiast collection! A collection of cars that you actually care about because of their dynamics and usability and not because they cost over a million grand or something. This is a proper car collection ❤
Such a wide range of very different vehicles. It’s clear Mat has an emotional attachment to some of these. Sometimes a car will just appeal to you and it’s not easy to pin down why. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
There were 5 of us at home, 2 + 3 kids, and we all fitted inside Maluch/polski fiat 126p. We loved it. Couldn’t afford anything else. Kept it until it was sold for about £50 in around 1995. Great memories. 😃😃
childhood memories in Fiat 126p. Mum & Dad, my big sister and our dog going camping for a full month. We would layer sleeping bags, air beds and blankets on the rear seat so high we'd have to bend our heads as there was no clearance for the roof. Tents on the roofbox and all sorts of things along with it. 70 mile journey would take 3-4 hours as the car would overheat from all that load it had to carry. We'd always make it though. Couldn't do it nowdays, me. I'd have a meltdown 😁
My favorite is the GR Yaris. It has everything you need from a sporty car and more. Great color, stays clean for a long time and since it is a Toyota and still new, it will not have a lot of issues in the long run.
As always love your honesty about the cars you review. The fact that these are your own cars and you disclose the pros and cons and unlike some are open about the money you paid is why I trust all that you say. 👍 Great collection too 👍
Lovely video, Matt! It is so cool that you prefer the Jimny over the GT3 RS. Value aside, if you'd want to give me one of your cars, it would be the S660 (I have a Suzuki Cappuccino and completely love the KEI-car concept).
It‘s amazing Matt has 11 cars yet none of these is a typical reliable family long distance car like a skoda Superb. I get it, the Cayenne is somehow one, but traveling long distances myself I can tell: miles between refueling, comfort (features and tech), noise, reliability etc. Really increase the ride quality. Enjoyed the video Matt!
I recently got a LCV Jimny, other than not being able to modify it to what I want as insurance is abit crap, it's probably one of the best and most fun cars I have owned!! I was driving it over a flyover in storm Darragh and it was a right laugh, was being blow around so much - was great fun. Definitely could do with the upgraded suspension!

Lol I just subscribed and thought "oh good to see Matt has made his own channel. He deserves more of the profits. I wonder when he started?" *scrolls down* 12 BLOODY YEARS AGO!! wth youtube algorithm? Why are you only bringing me this now?
Love your interest in cars and that you can scratch the itch. Living in Canada my fleet would consist of a basic 911 for late spring, summer and early fall and a 4-door Defender for the rest. As it happens I’m not in Matt territory financially and my “ride” is a 2010 MINI. low mileage, runs great. Merry Christmas Matt and family.
I’d remove the overlaps in this collection, get some colour and keep a wildcard/fun choice. A budget-friendly alternative for this collection would be a combination of these: - Smart Fortwo/Polski Fiat/Fiat 500 inc. Abarth/Renault Zoe/BMW i3 (I’d get a 451 Smart Brabus or cheap 71bhp, although we briefly had a Polski Fiat when I was a child but they are no longer cheap) - 996/997 Porsche 911 Turbo/non-turbo models or classic 928 (I’d happily get any of these) - Mercedes SLK 170 (any of the 200/230K, 320 or SLK32 AMG) or an SL350/500. (I had a manual Kompressor SLK and a classic 107 SL, I’d get an SL350 or 500) - Porsche Cayenne (either the big V8 or even a Turbo), MB ML, BMW X5, Cherokee Jeep 4.0, L322 Range Rover, Lada Niva, Mercedes 320/350 CDI estate or E55 estate, Volvo XC70 D5/T5 or Subaru Outback 3.0. (I’d get a Range Rover or a E350CDI. I’ve driven/owned a Jeep, RR, 211/212 MB, Outback, all great cars). On reflection, a Mercedes E350CDI, Smart Fortwo 71bhp non-hybrid and either a Porsche 911 or an SL500 would cost c.£15/20k with the a Porsche or £10/15k with an SL. I’d get something fun and unusual to replace one of these eventually or replace the SL/Porsche with an XKR. This is still cheaper than the first annual depreciation on a family car, especially on an EV these days. If money’s tight, get a Boxer/SLK and a Merc or a Volvo estate or a Subaru Outback 3.0 (avoid the four cylinder 2.5!). I just wanted to make the point that there are brilliant older cars at very affordable prices that are not far from the experience of a collection like this.
nissan gloria, subaru exiga, toyota caldina, velar sva, aston martin DBX with 6 cylinder engine, RS6 avant plus, M5 manual US specs, cls 63 amg shooting brake s rhd, last gen 9-5 sport combi, bmw 435i xdrive cabrio with manual, maloo GTS, are some collectable cars. Not a smart fortwo, an SLK, or a renault zoe, lol
@@denalisiomontpellier4064You must be posting from the US, I was suggesting options that are in keep with the spirit of Matt’s collection (including small EVs and the Polski Fiat), but on a tight budget. Besides, I was recommending budget options that at current price, would make a not very different collection attainable at around £15k. When you are recommending an Aston Martin, you are ignoring what my post was about. I don’t like EVs, but I included a couple as driving in certain cities in the UK is becoming expensive, unless one’s strategic and I wanted alternatives to substitute the Ami and the other hatchbacks in Matt’s collection. A cheap Zoe or i3 would still tick the EV box. Otherwise, I included large family AWD/estate, convertible and sports coupe options on a small budget. Many of your recommendations are not even available in the UK and are significantly higher in price. Again, apart from the 911/928s and the i3, all cars on my list can be bought for around £3-4k or below. I do like the CLS63 and I was actually looking at them a few days ago. The cheapest was around £20k.
Hey Matt, i got a question about Jimny, imagine the 5 door is sold there, would you...? 1 sell your 3 door, and get a 5 door 2 buy a 5 door and have both 3 not interested at all
I learned to drive on amazing red Fiat 126p, with my 193cm it was quite a challenge and bit painful to operate steering wheel, but what a car :) You can literally lift front and turn it around the rear axle :D

Funny you should mention the fuel tank on your GT3, I actually saw you in it not long after you got it, can you guess where… yep at a petrol station. 😂 Great video by the way, really enjoyed your honest views on them all.
As a former auto electrician Matt, there's a zero cost way to test your alternator. After you start your car, remove the positive battery lead. If the car stops, it's the alternator. If it remains running, it's fine.

Yeah. Totally with you mate. Whilst the Porsche has the power it looks so vulgar. Such crap should be left only for the track. Give me the 126 any day. Little horsepower but you can use it all the time.
Great video Matt. Interesting to see your order of favourites and what they're worth. Favourites 1,2 and 3 might be appreciating assets. They're also 80-90% the total asset value of your collection. The remaining 8 are notably (relatively) cheap to buy and probably (relatively) not so expensive to run, although doubtless also need the most regular fixing...
Respect for ranking the good ol mx-5 this high. 2024 nd3 mx-5 owner (my 3rd mx-5 to date), hoping to drive it for 50 years. Maybe at some point have a more luxurious car, like a Porsche, but still show my friends how cool my mx-5 is. KR

Hello Mat I have a similar shadow regarding cars. So I'll give you some good advice: 11 is unsightly! Better 15 pieces! :-) (e.g. Lotus, MG, ...) But thanks for the video, it was very nice to watch.
You have an interesting group of cars there Mat. They are quirky and fun which fits you perfectly! My cars fit me too: My latest is a 2022 Tesla model Y long range awd. The most reliable car I have ever had is my 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in. My workhorse is a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3 liter. The Prius is the slowest by far, but the Tesla makes up for that. Happy Motoring Mat!
Why did you explain all your favourite and least favourite cars in no order? Would've been easier to follow if it was in order of least favourite to most favourite. But apart from that, it's another brilliant video! Keep up the good work, Mat!
Mat, speaking of parking the Fiat 126 in shopping trolley spaces, I parked my 2011 Audi TTS exactly like that a year or so ago when for an event all the other spaces were taken. Yes, the Audi TT fit! And I could still squeeze myself out of the car 😂.

The remaining 8 are notably (relatively) cheap to buy and probably (relatively) not so expensive to run, although doubtless also need the most regular fixing...
At first, I read "not much".
KR
Now, I understand Y she left you 30:27
14:22 Mat rubbing the mold in the Miata engine like it was dust!
Crazy Porsche collection 😍, it was obvious that you will get an allocation for GT3RS...
I would like to buy a Polski Fiat 126p and swap the motor from a Yamaha mt07 or some V twin in it.
Or a Suzuki Hyabusa. 🏍️💨💨💨
that was such an enjoyable episode, absolutely love it with the ranking thing
Mat's windshield was 3000£ to replace, Yianni's was 30,000£ for his Revuelto😅😅😅
Great video. Love the enthusiasm.
1:39 £8500 to call yourself a git 🤣🤣🤣
What is git? Like git gud?

Infotainment in the cayenne? Best to use a tplink Bluetooth receiver with the aux lead. Seamless super sound no interference and hassle free.
Love the videos Matt, big fan of both channels.
Where is the aux in?
@MatWatsonCars sometimes in the glove box but often on the front of the head unit. My car is insignia and it's in the arm rest. Works a dream. Phone connects each time I get in the car.
Two are worth £300k and 9 are worth £100 😮😂
Hello Mat
I have a similar shadow regarding cars. So I'll give you some good advice: 11 is unsightly! Better 15 pieces! :-)
(e.g. Lotus, MG, ...)
But thanks for the video, it was very nice to watch.
"I'm Matt Watson, and today we'll find out just how great I think my farts smell."
Nice car's. Merry Christmas Matt.
Can't believe you put the Jimny above your GT3 RS
Did you not listen to his reason why? Completely personal for Matt and it’s his list, not yours.
I would do the same. Jimny is for life.
This is why Matt is my favorite car journalist, kinda like me when improvising in fixing things 😂
39 seconds ago is crazy.
This is the type of car collection I strive for, filled with quirky and fun cars and one of them being really high end.
The Honda s 660 so much potential for mods
Btw I’m your biggest fan from Canada 🇨🇦 Toronto
This guy made me fall in love with Porsche, especially the 911. When I grow up and become rich, 'i'll buy one.
bro mazada mx5 stand on Matt's 4th favourite car is crazy man. I didn't expect that.
I knew it, i love my blue Jimny! Best car ever!
"Interesting"?...You spelled "boring" wrong.
@@BibTheBoulderTheOriginalOne Ha Ha
The word is reliable.
30:42 "Cough into life" haha :D proper Polish reaction. We even call it a "cougher", I'm sure you know that :)
