Thank you! I've never needed to fix a starter, I expected it to be much more difficult. This video made changing brakes, rotors, and calipers seem difficult in comparison. Thank you for taking the time to put this out there!❤
Congratulations on your success! I was kind of amazed at how many youtube videos on starter replacement there was that didn’t actually show what to do.
Great detailed & descriptive guide. Any issue with the gasket being slightly warped? Wondering if any deformity or debris on mating surfaces will cause issues.
The original lasted 15 years (and probably still had more life in it). I didn’t think i needed to last another 15 years, so i bought a cheaper re-manufactured part. No issues yet, one year on.
If the car that I’m changing the starter on, didn’t have a gasket for the starter but the donor car I took the starter out of has a gasket. Does it matter if I don’t put a gasket¿

You’re quite welcome! Glad it could help.
Thank you so much for this video! I was able to change my starter successfully and save about $500! I really appreciate the help.

I haven’t run into any issues so far.
Do you recommend Honda or aftermarket? Which one is more reliable and lasts longer??

Good luck!

I think i would use the old gasket, or get a new one. I think it might leak without a gasket.
Plus, I would double check that the gasket isn’t just stuck in place, and seems like it isn’t there.
