In need of such for a 2006 Honda Pilot EXL. Watched your most valuable video so as to educate myself, 71 year old lady, to better understand a mechanic’s time and charges. Thank you ever so much for sharing this information. 🚙
You were right about all the problem areas. Taking that nut off of the wire harness was key to being able to guide the starter out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the starter wasn't quite as deep down as the camera made it look. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Would you be able to list all the tools needed for this job? I noted a few but would be great if I could be sure. I might be visiting a Honda Pilot that needs a new starter and would like to attempt this on my own.
Thank you for the video. Straight to the point. 👍🏻 . The "loooooong ratchet" works evry time. Also check in the manual for the vehicle, it may have the codes for that vehicle.
I watched a couple videos, but this is the method I used. The only time it would be helpful to remove the battery and box is dealing with the starter wire bracket. Mine was corroded pretty good, so I just took the bracket off the starter and attached it to the new starter. I was doing this mobile, so it was great to know exactly which tools to bring and have the torque specs (not that those are absolutely critical for this job). Thank you!
I had just changed my starter but I have one problem if anyone can give me an idea it cranks it starts but when I try to accelerate the car has a hard time accelerating anyone please help
I've figured it out it I had unloosen the bolt next to the starter bolt that contains transmission fluid and had leaked oil now I'm having a hard time knowing how much oil shoul i put in it I had only put 3quarts because it did drop a good amount of oil

@@TVzenrobot I have links in the description for parts and tools 👍. Hope that helps.
Guy did it the hard way😂😂 take a extra 5 minutes pulling the batter box & brackets give you more room without touching the hoses

Best video, especially letting us know what tools and size.
Thanks! Glad this is helpful 👍

Your a lifesaver man, thanks
THANKS VERY MUCH : GOOD STUFF !!!!!! YOU ARE MUCH APPRECIATED !!!!🌅🌅
Learned a lot. Thank you.
Very informative video mating the starter to the block was a little tricky but other then that it was all good
Can you change out the main power stud if you broke it off?
Oh no! Unfortunately I don't know the answer to that. You'll just have to remove the starter and see what it looks like 😕
Ever had it start cranking by itself after connecting battery?
Can this be done from underneath the car or better from the top?
top its on the top of the bell housing
Curious as to time involved; 1/2hr, 1hr, or longer?
I would expect they would charge for about an hour and a half labor.
Is it safe to just remove the hoses?
Yep, but be prepared for coolant to come out 👍
How could you not start the vehicle to end your video? Such a tease! Lol jk
Thanks for helping

Is the check engine light on? If so see what codes are present. You can post them here and we'll help you out 👍
No check engine light on at all
@@vn7zw0rld36 It's possible that the exhaust is clogged.
