I have a Dragon 6k and just bought myself a DZO Arles 35mm. (yet to buy the set) I'm about to test it on a commercial shoot! From what I've seen online this combo is about go crazy! Its so refreshing to see videos like this that address how good old gear still is in 2025. Ive had so many opportunities to blend the old with the new, for example, pairing a Dragon 6k, DZO Arles and a Lidar auto-focus system is ludicrously fun! It feels illegal what you can get away with now using old & new gear together. You now no longer need to have £50,000 minimum to put Hollywood in your hands.
@@thisisfilmatic I picked my lens up individually but started with the 25,40 and 75. I just place an order for the 14mm. I love the look of those lenses. I also use them on my C70, GFX100II and the R5mk2
I suppose that dragon was used with skintone highlight olpf? The brightness difference is due to the old ISO calibration on dsmc1, basically it was 1 stop below any other camera somewhy. On dsmc2 they’ve introduced iso cal2, that actually matches other cams. But, skintone highlight olpf cuts additional 0.6 stop of light compared to other olpfs, thus almost 2 stop difference from raptor and komodo. Interesting enough, skintone highlight somehow prevents blue sky from blowing out for and additional stop, compared to other olpfs on dragon
Its an awesome combo! I got a set for you. Larry from LimelightVideo who let us borrow the CP2 set has them for sale. 25 T2, 35, 50, 85 1.5. Let me know if you want his info!
Dont do it unless you love the chromatic abberations, worked alot with CP2 SS and Im building a Zeiss Standard speed set instead. Ya I dont get the FF image circle if needed but on s35 idk the Standard Speed is so much more special of a look.
The arles are sooo smooth👍 it looks so good on 6 and 8K
This was so so so good🎉🎉
@@VincentPowell thank you bro!

why is there an orange tint from the arles? or maybe thats the dragon sensor?
