One of my favorite Nightwish songs and such a wonderful performance by Floor and Troy
Floor has released the two covers so far this one and as mentioned Alone she is planning to cover one each week as a gift to all of us while the pandemic is stopping them touring. These are released on Saturday's and are a secret each week so can't wait to see what she has created this week. She records them at home by the way.
It will probably a new cover every other week on average, so approx two per month.

The more you dive in to Nightwish, the more you will find that not only is Floor an amazing vocalist, but you will find that Marco (the bass player) and Troy (a multi-instrumentalist) are also both amazing singers. Their latest album features a lot of harmonies with these 3 and the sound is stunning.
He needs to hear Marco.
In duet with the original Nightwish vocalist (Tarja, who he should also check out) he needs to hear "Phantom of the Opera". For just Marco alone I would recommend "The Islander" and their cover of Pink Floyd's "High Hopes" with Nightwish, or, from Marco's band, "Voice of My Father".
You should watch her doing "Euphoria" at Beste Zangers! It's amazing how she takes a really pop style song and puts her twist on it. There's reasons why fans call her a siren!

Fun fact, Floor covered this song for her daughter, who is a huge Frozen fan.
What struck me about this is that the original's vocal makes it sound _really_ hard, and all the big notes sound like they'd be a real reach for anyone. When Floor does it, though, she makes it sound easy, particularly by comparison to a lot of her Nightwish work. That's class.
Floor is amazing. She is our Valkyrie goddess and we love to see others discover her. Always great seeing others react to her and get that fresh discovery again and again.
The reason I love watching reactions to Floor and Nightwish is because it's kind of like getting to see it again for the first time myself, like living vicariously through your reactions... and I gotta say your expressions and movements definitely give me that experience! I know you're getting tons of requests for stuff by Floor and Nightwish, and honestly I'd be ecstatic to see you react to any of them BUT I'm still going to throw out my fav: Storytime at Wacken. I can't remember if I said this on your Nightwish vid already but... oh well lol. It's a great performance and always puts a huge smile on my face, and I just know you would LOVE it! And I'd LOVE to see you love it!

Please note that this is nót pure talent on itself. Ofcourse Floor boosts with talent, but besides that she worked her ass off to reach this insane level.
Floor is a God-given voice . Pure amazing . She's number One
Floor has the ability to shift her vocal placement at will and she often will shift dynamics and timbres word to word and note to note. She has a very high musical IQ for interpreting music and she uses all the different techniques at her disposal to tell the stories and convey the emotions of the songs she performs. She avoids using technique for its own sake or just to show off. A few songs you should consider for reactions to see some of the different things she can do:
1) Nightwish - How's the Heart live accoustic for Planet Rock: This one is great for seeing Floor do light, agile, acrobatic singing.
2) Floor Jansen - Alone (cover of the Heart version): A great demonstration of her rapidfire use of different vocal placements for storytelling purposes. Also shows off her ability to sound much *much* brighter when she wants to, both through twang and judicious use of nasal resonance.
3) Nightwish - Your's is an Empty Hope live from Mexico City: Floor shows her ability to use distortion and to produce a false cord growl.
4) Nightwish - Dead Boy's Poem live from Buenos Aires: Floor starts from a breathy, piano/pianissimo dynamic and slowly builds through the whole song to a full power belt at the end of the song in a continuous ebb and flow of dynamic and timbre word to word and note to note.

Some people dubbed this version over the scene in the movie and it instantly lifts the whole scene up 10 levels.
Elsa is pretty much the "most metal princess" in any Disney production and when you see the overdub, it raises many questions on why Disney didnt actually make her "metal" in the first place.
And no, kids do not dislike heavier music, if its good.. they will love it just like we do, and will have the added benefit of introducing children earlier to rock music so rock can make the comeback it deserves.
I never was a fan of the song, i appreciated it sure, well written and very well performed but... it never touched my core so to speak.
But this version? Entirely different story.. i absolutely love this version, so much in fact that i would play this song at parties and whatnot because it just kicks ass.
Floor is a vocal goddess plain and simple, very few vocalists out there, male and female are as skilled and talented as she is.

The great thing about Phantom of the Opera from Beste Zangers is you not only get Floor's incredible vocals, you also get to hear Henk Poort who was the Phantom for a number of years in the Dutch production of the musical (and one of Webber's favorite phantoms). He's a beast of a singer as well.
Great reaction. Since we are in the Christmas season it would also be good to react to "Ave Maria" w/ Floor & Marko Hietala (Nightwish bassist & singer). Plus "Oi Jouluyo" (Oh Holy Night), where Floor has a little something very extra special.
I haven't gone through all of the reactions, but if you want to go back to where Floor comes form be sure to check out her former bands like After Forever (Dutch metal band with her brother, but they stopped years ago) and Revamp (hert own project after stopping with After forever). I think it has allready been mentionned somewhere, but also check out Epica (the band started by her brother and ex after forever) with Simone Simons another Dutch metal queen!

This is probably my favorite reaction ❤️ You should listen to alone by hear (cover) she just released or even better shallow from beste zangers, I'd recommend shallow (solo version) before the phantom of the opera(please don't take it wrong it is a he'll of a song) , or nightwish. Floor is well known for belting like a beast! And I'd really like you hear something like how's the heart acoustic or dead boy's poem live at argentina these are ballads that highlight floor's voice. Just my humble opinion.

When she came on, being one of the internationally more famous ones of them, hardly anyone of them knew who she was as Nightwish wasn't that mainstreamly famous in the Netherlands.

Absolutely agree about how her expertise shines when she sings perfect softer notes, soft but still full and rich sounds, she’s amazing at that, a perfect example of that was when she sang Shallow on the show Beste Zangers, an incredible performance that you really must see.

Well if you want to see the range of Floor on full display, then Beste Zangers 2019 where she was a weekly wrecking ball in various genres in various languages in a small intimate settings without Nightwish. Let's see an Aria in German, Folk song in Dutch, Salsa in Spanish, Pop song in English you get a cover of Shallow (Lady GaGa's) and Phantom of the Opera to name just a few. A real roller-coaster ride you will love.

Epica is a Dutch band. And they have Simone Simons as the lead singer. The voices of Simone and Floor together backed by the choir is something you'll like.

Probably you've heard of Ayreon which is an ongoing Rock Opera project by Arjan Lucassen. He's the best in this genre so he can ask anybody to participate in his projects.

Just the total *feels* in her version are so strong, there are no words.
Edit: you should also see her performance as a guest with the band Epica on the song "Sancta Terra" at their live anniversary concert. The vocal gymnastics she performs with their singer Simone Simons (who trained under the same vocal coach, if I recall correctly) are just sublime. Their harmony and chemistry are in a whole class of their own! You won't be disappointed.
You should also take a look at Nightwish's original vocalist, Tarja. She was classically trained and has some serious vocal power, which was a major factor in why Nightwish first developed it's signature sound. Many recommend "Phantom of the Opera" (which also showcases the excellent vocals of their bassist, Marco), but my personal favorite is "Nemo". Tarja now has a solo career, which is also worth a look (I'm fond of "Dead Promises" myself).
