Jonathan Esser The thing is people usually don’t describe the manner of death. He could have said he died and that would have been fine . Or he passed away. That would have worked too. He didn’t have to say “drove off the road and died “. I get what you’re saying though.. what does it matter? Well it doesn’t but it kinda does.

Although Farve was insane I almost disagree. I think everyone else was so locked in the zone for their boy. He threw a lot of classic Farve gambles but his ducking boys made every damn play. Donald Driver says it best. He says he told every WR they were gonna catch every ball. Every damn ball we will catch for that man. They fucking did it.
@@josephwiddifield7958 stupid argument. He was still making some amazing throws. Just because his receivers were playing well, doesn’t mean Favre was doing any worse. Without Favre, the receivers don’t have a ball to catch. He was definitely in the zone.

I watached this game with my dad and it still means the world to me. Neither of us are Packers fans, but we became Favre fans after this night.

Paige Wilson a 6td 5 turnover game is not a good performance no matter how you cut it. This was a legendary performance for more than just stats. On top of that, he wasn’t in a pass happy pro-offense league putting these stats up. Oh let’s not forget, he didn’t have 5 turnovers. Or even a single turnover. Recency bias.
Devin yes he was a pass-happy offense are you kidding me and also you just said 6tds and five turnovers in the same sentence. On top of that you was the only person to ever lose okay scoring 50 or more points. This was a decent performance if not any considered by today's standards. This was the early 2000s so this was the beginning of the pass happy ness. The only reason that people consider this so great cuz he lost his dad let's be honest. This has to be coming from the same guy that probably thinks Joe Montana is the greatest quarterbacks ever live just cuz he has 4 Super Bowls and no losses.
I know it gets overlooked this day as Bretts day but the Packers WR corps was committed to giving Brett his day like no WR corps I have ever seen in NFL history ! The Driver Favre Relationship was built this night and it lasts to this day because Driver was the leader of that room that night and he got every man in that room to play better than they ever had for Brett and for his dad ! This game gave Brett the most dedicated WR corps in the history of the NFL and then 4th and 26 happened !
They had the locker room speech by Driver saying with his heart and like a gladiator “today we catch everything” goosebumps all game makes me want to lace em up right now

Wow. Thank you for reminding me. I mean I grew up loving Favre. My brother had that same irreversible jersey. Believe it or not that's what sparked my love for Favre and the Packers. So much nostalgia. The Pack holds a very special place in my heart. More than any other team.

Yes, this was a great game! Some say there is effort, then super effort, and then super super effort. Bret's great love for his father was the wellspring of super super effort. As with others in similar situations, the field of play was a refuge for his grief, and he put forth an effort unlike any other. This story illustrates clearly that sports are more than pastimes and mind games. Sports can be at the best reflections of the strongest, most noble human emotions.

Been a Packer fan since birth! This is by far my favorite Packer game. I was a 36 year old man with tears running down my face that evening.

This was the very first Green Bay game that I ever watched. I had just turned 9 years old. Played little league for the Packers so seeing the real Packers intrigued me. Had no idea beforehand who Brett Favre was or the situation with his father passing. That was the first time I truly fell for the game of football. I’ve been a lifelong Packers fan ever since, and Brett Favre will ALWAYS be my favorite player of all time.

I was at this game as a 7 yr old kid-I am a seahawks fan but I loved the packers-after the game ahman green threw his glove to me and some raiders fan snaked it from me-green yelled at them and told them to give it to me-I ended up losing it at our hotel room that night but it was still an amazing experience
As a fan this will be remembered forever and on something like this you don't even have to be a fan to respect the level that he played with on that night, so much respect.

Most people don't realize he did all this with a broken thumb on his throwing hand. I will never forget this game and I was only 12 when it happened.

I remember watching this game live when I was 9. One of the best Monday Night football games that I Remember
I was at this game. It was truly unbelievable what Favre done that night. By the end of the 3rd quarter all of the Raiders fans knew it was over. I remember leaving my seat with 2 minutes left in the half to use the restroom and get another beer. I also missed about the first minute and a half of the third quarter. The Packers had put 10 points on the board while I was gone. Good for Brett, but not so good for us Raiders fans. We knew then there would be no chance of going to the Superbowl that season.
I just remember watching this game on TV. Not only is it the best Brett Favre performance, but the best performance by a quarterback that i have ever seen in my lifetime. Also giving props for Jevon Walker for being an important part of the historic performance!

the packers in this game , some of the best deep ball throws and catches you will ever see, still to this day ,I don't know if I've ever seen better deep ball throws and catches than in that game, amazing stuff
How good were the deep throws though? A bunch of them had defenders close enough to intercept. I would argue that many times the receivers bailed Favre out.

Not a packer fan, but I did see this game live, and this little clip does not quite capture the magic. It shows the results, but not quite the feel of that game. Farve had his Dad on the field with him...for sure....zero doubt... and we miss some of that emotion in this video. That was a magic night of football for Farve.

Dad game farve is the greatest qb history ever saw. Accuracy of Aaron Rodgers, his natural cannon of an arm, and cooler under pressure the joe cool himself.
As an Eagles fan, i can honestly say that from '92-'03, this guy was a MONSTER. Almost like when you had to play the Packers, you just went ahead and put an L on that game. The 90s had some really good QBs, but Favre was hell to play against. If it wasn't for the 90s Cowboys team, Favre would've probably won one or two more SB rings.

This game right here is why when asked to pick a team full of all time greats I'll take Favre over Brady any day of the week. When he was having what John Madden always called a "Brett Favre kind of day" he was simply unstoppable. Tom Brady is more consistent, has all the rings, blah blah blah, but he can't do what Brett could do when he was turned on.

I Actually Remember Watching This Game On The Very Night That it was getting Played And That I was at bar table in Honolulu Being Entertained With It And Where With The Green Bay Packers Going Nonstop With Making Touchdown After Touchdown Over And Over All Night Long And That This Game Was Also Played On The Night Following The San Simeon Earthquake That Had Struck The Heart Of Central California Along With Paso Robles And All Of It’s Coastal And Inland Regions Earlier On That Day !

I only watched favre for 4 seasons because I wasn't old enough. But I really loved his play style. I miss these gunners dude. Nowadays everybody is so scared to throw an interception because that's the only state analysts seem to care about, so we don't see these gambling type QBs anymore. It's also way easier to throw the ball now because too many rules against the CBS so in general it's not as special to be a gunner.
