  • The 5-3 Packers, coming off a bye, take on their division rival Chicago Bears in a Sunday Night matchup in Week 10 of the 2014 season. Green Bay got off to a blistering hot start as Aaron Rodgers threw 6 touchdown passes in the first half alone, giving Green Bay a 42-0 halftime lead that would culminate in a 55-14 demolition by the end of the night.

It doesn't work that way, but thank you for the simple multiplication. No team would play the same in the second half as they did in the first half when they are up by that amount. Players are put on the bench, schemes change, defenses are less aggressive, etc. Also, opponents make halftime adjustments. Football isn't math. That is why you literally were off by 13 points by the Packers and 14 by the Bears.

When the Bears fans talk shit, just remember the Packers sat their QB and took a field goal in front of the posts when they could have strolled in again, all to show respect and not run up the score on a defeated opponent. They could have scored 80 that day and Rodgers would have broken every record going. Say what you want about the Packers rivalry but they are a proper franchise who have done a lot for the game of football. They conduct themselves properly.

I literally would never have done that as a head coach. First, it's the Bears, in Green Bay. If you can rub their nose in the mud, do it. Second, there are 60 minutes in an NFL game. It isn't high school or college; its pro sports. If you get blown out by 100 points it's your own fault.

The 2014-2015 Packers were such a good team. They should’ve gone to the SuperBowl that year, but sadly we all know what happened. Amazing pass offense, a pretty good running game with Starks and Lacy, an underrated O-Line, and a defense that was better than anything that came after it. Let’s hope they can get Rodgers to the SupwerBowl again.

@Vegas EMT You're right. But a lot of people forget the Packers were playing against the Legion of Boom. There's blame to go all around, but in the playoffs, you have to be pretty much perfect to get to the big game. Especially against a defense like that. That entire special team knew they had a chance to end the game and win the Superbowl right there. The Packers needed the most overlooked facet of the game to come through for them and they didn't get it done.
The offense did their job. Over 21 points in the playoffs. Both teams defense AND offense did their job. It came down to special teams in the end. And I know a lot of people point out "Oh well the defense should have just stopped the Seahawks in overtime". THAT'S bullshit. Games shouldn't be decided in overtime by the flip of a coin. The modern NFL has high-powered offenses, it's catered to offense more than ever and people want to argue it's a good idea to pit exhausted defenses against these offenses in overtime and give them the win if they score all because a coin flip decided who got the ball first? How's that decide which team is better?
Clearly, it wasn't the Seahawks, because they didn't run the ball. Lol. The Packers would have won that Superbowl, no sane person would deny that.

I remember watching this game, and they kept flashing up stats and the Green Bay way of developing drafted players versus Chicago's reliance on free agency, trying to do something, anything to explain just how such a brutal assbeating could happen. After the first few minutes, it was just a sad game to watch and a cautionary tale for every team in the league.
    But I was entertained.

Rogers is a great quarterback, maybe the best and Cutler was great nothing. It is always sweet for this Bears fan to see the Bears beat the Packers under Rogers because when that happens we are beating the best. And the hopefully in 2019 we'll see it twice.

I yelled f*** yeah go kill em! He turned and ran to the sidelines... he sure killed em he still owns em

Dude Looking at these 2010-2016 games for the packers It feel like it was just yesterday watching these games. Like this game I remember I had to go school the next day but I watch this game and saw the packers lead 42-0 at the half. I went to bed know they are going to win. Next morning I saw the score 55-14. I wish I can go back in time and see that day.
ps I did not see the second half

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much! Best game ever! Sometimes a good blow out can be as entertaining as a close game, and lucky for us, it was on the Packers side! Between my internet buddies, the game itself, and the aftermath, my body was hurting from so much laughter. It was bad enough for the Bears, but keep this in mind, compared to any other blowout, this just had legendary bad moments for the Bears compared to our other victims of blowouts.
    1. the "blocked punt" had Jarrett Boykin kick the ball before the punter, never happened before or since
    2. Matt Flynn was put in halfway through Quarter 3, whereas in most other games the back up comes in late in the 4th quarter to finish up.
    3. Cutler's pick 6 throw hit Kyle Long's helmet right into Heyward's arms, and it went 82 yards.
    4. Bears had multiple defenses played during Jordy's 70+ yard TD catch.
    5. the big stuff by CM3 on Chris Williams
    6. Eddy Lacy's screen for TD
I have seen other blowout games over the years, but none were as entertaining as that, I look at other blowouts including the 55-7 victory over the Jake Locker led Titans, not as entertaining as not a single TD pass was over 50 yards and pick 6's. The 2011 blowouts, just A-Rod being a bad man, the MN blowout that same season didn't have that same laugher feel. I will forever remember this one, as my personal favorite game ever.
