    A buddy of mine played with Favre at Southern MS. My friend was a 6’ 3” 280 lb defensive lineman. Friday practice during the season was a light day (helmets only). The lineman would catch passes during warm ups. My buddy ran a 15 yd hook. He said the ball was there when he turned around and didn’t have time to get his hands up. Since he was a defensive player, Brett didn’t hold back. The ball hit him between the numbers, knocked the wind out of him, and put him flat on his back. He said it was like getting kicked in the chest by a horse. He NEVER ran another pass pattern.

    I've been a dedicated watcher of the NFL since 1978, when I was 10 years old. Been a Denver Broncos fan since then......Super Bowl 12.......even though I've been a lifelong resident of Northern Cali........it's a long story. This wasn't the first time Jerry Glanville did this!
    On the VHS tape "Sports Illustrated's Greatest Sports Follies," Glanville was coaching the Houston Oilers at the time, he's talking to a new draftee at practice.
    "Where'd you go to school?" "Iowa." "Wasn't Iowa State? We got the wrong...I wanted the Iowa STATE cornerback--we'd (taken) the wrong guy!" And then Glanville laughed.
    I watched that tape a lot as a kid, and I recognized this story instantly. It must've just been Glanville messing around. But it seems Favre didn't get the joke.

    • @mikehawk6120
      @mikehawk6120 8 месяцев назад +1

      Favre was do or die. He doesn't have more rings because he threw int's or Td's. They were at bad times too. FG range, he can go to OT to beat the undefeated Pats in the SB and he throws an interception. Same thing in MN. A chance to take on Manning. (In a game Manning would've wanted to win.) And he gets hurt and throws a bad pick to the Saints to end their chance (mannings heart was not in that game at all. Peyton asked Daddy if he could win, and Daddy Manning told him "no," as in N.O.

    • @cheapseats12
      @cheapseats12 7 месяцев назад

      @@mikehawk6120 this isnt 💯 accurate to why he has less rings. Tom Brady was 11-6 in the playoffs with a QB rating under 80. Favre was 0-7 in the same. Brady was 3-1 in playoffs throwing 3 INTs. People put way too much blame and way too much credit for SBs to QBs. It's called the "ultimate team sport" for a reason. People forget Favre dominated the Saints D for the Vikes. They had double the saints yardage but the Vikes had 3 fumbles twice in the red zone, one on the opposite red zone. Favre was lucky to be standing at the end of that game too. Context is everything

    Man, it's so sad that he apparently committed criminal welfare fraud and misappropriated(knowingly stole) $1.6M for his mansion and luxury cars, and then helped siphon millions of dollars meant for needy low-income residents(who were denied state aid) of Mississippi to his daughter's college for a new 28,000 square foot volleyball arena with a $6 million price tag.
    And the state has multiple text messages showing he knew what he was doing was not only wrong, but potentially criminal. At least he's paid half of his stolen mansion and car money back after being forced to admit wrongdoing or be immediately arrested.
    There is still an ongoing criminal investigation into him as well as his accomplices, and there are demands that he be fully prosecuted just like the others involved.
    I know he's not convicted yet, but he has already publicly admitted to the charges of wrongdoing. What a f**king scumbag.

      That's what a person of integrity and ethics does-admits full responsibility and repairs the damage. He did none of that, only what he had to do on the advice of his lawyer and under threat of criminal prosecution.
