Great review of an underrated gem. The GBA is really home to a ton of excellent, oft-overlooked games based on comic superheroes. The GBA versions of Ghost Rider and Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu far surpass their console counterparts imo, plus there’s Justice League Heroes: The Flash, Daredevil, the Invincible Iron Man, Fantastic 4: Flame On, and most of the Spidey games. :)
Mysterio's Menace and the GBC Spidey games are great! Not sure about the others. Ghost Rider is pretty fun but I seem to recall Batman RoST was pretty good on consoles. I've heard Invincible Iron Man was great! Not sure about the rest to be honest. Looks like I got some homework to do, thanks, dude!
I very much enjoyed Wolverine's Revenge, Mysterio Menace, and the Invincible Iron Man on GBA.
good review! I would not have thought to try this version out. Looks better than the Altered Beast & Shinobi games on GBA
Thanks! :) Yeah, Sega on the other hand had some really piss poor sequels released around this time outside of the Sonic Advance games.
wow I can't believe you got not just one, but two wolverine actors! 🤣🤣
That patreon money goes a LONG way :D
I had no idea this existed. I remember the xBox version being really tough. Nice to see this looks fun.
Yep, the big brother console version is such a brutally hard game, and just not very good either. This one is WAY better.
I'm glad this version of X2 Wolverine's Revenge has a cheat that makes Wolverine's healing factor accurate to how it works in the comics
@@michaelcurtin524 truth be told, his healing factor has become truly OP these days. Back in the older days, he would get injured and it would take him days to heal.
1:35, XD I love this ver. of Hugh Jackman.
1:56, He's running AWAY!! GET HIM!
4:30, 4?!! NO WAAY!!!
5:00, eh. I can live with that.
12:00, XD
Still, why couldn't they announce the power-ups you collect? Megaman games do it all the time.
18:56, XD That helmet.
19:22, the hell?!! So Console Wars wasn't enough, eh? RATMAN?!!
Wow, wouldn't have thought that this would be a good game! I'm not a huge X-men fan but I gotta keep my eyes peeled for this one.
Wasn't expecting for the GBA to pump out tunes that go this hard, that boss theme is pretty rockin indeed!
Dat Boss Theme is so good!
I can see a reflection of "Hugh Jackman" in the Tomb Raider poster. 👀
hush lol
@@Dongled Ohh...Sorry. 🫢
Game looks pretty solid, but I can see the annoyances with the bosses and that particular puzzle bit.
I'm stunned at the celebrity guests you got, that's impressive!!
Patreon bucks go a long way these days ;)
As always another excellent review Mike! I'm going to have to dive a bit deeper into the GBA library. Lots of underrated games there. This game looks pretty good, think I'll be picking this one up.
"...clawing your way to a boss" nice
Dude, I haven't played this game. It looks better than the Xbox version that I did play. Congrats on getting Jackman and Hamill as guests!
Come to think of it I haven't played any handheld X-Men games. I've played a few Spiderman ones.
There's quite a few X-Men handheld games actually!
That ending. 🤯
Man I like how fluent this looks! And it does give me thise donkey kong country vibes somehow. Also down for some Omega Red love. That said, this looks like one of those challenging games that requires a bit of patience to beat. Gonna need a bit of time with it. Pink Marshmallow Xavier is my favorite version!
It's the sugary insides, isn't it? Omega Red is an underappreciated villain.
Nice Shirt.
Do we have to come rescue you now?
Great review! I've played through this but never beat it i do think its a fun game tho so many good marvel games on the GBA:) please review fantastic 4 , xmen reighn of apocalypse, hulk gba, and ghost rider😄
Is Hulk GBA any good? I've only played the dreadful SNES game and the awesome Hulk Ultimate Destruction game.
@@Dongled It is good! But theres only one downside if your not continusly smashing things Hulk will lose health over time😭 so if you get lost in a level👎👎its a wrap
@@FriendlyNeighborhoodGeek99 OMG HAHAHA It's literally what I was talking about in this review! Wow, that's funny!
@@Dongled I know right! It made me think about the hulk game🤣
Amazing how they put way more passion and competence in the "less powerful" version of these licensed games...like Thor on DS is really really good and like this one aside from the look of the main characters it has nothing to do with the first movie...and made by WayForward!
Yep, that's a good one! Wayforward made a bunch of really good licensed GBA/DS games back in the day!
Another fun marvel licensed gba game to check out would be fantastic four flame on.
A few people have mentioned that one. I'll have to check it out.
🤣🤣 pretty sure thats night sounds from EQ commonlands
Who the what now?
@@Dongled when it goes dark
That's the nighttime sound clip from Everquest
@@monkeyabattoir8501 oh really?! Haha that's funny! I'm not sure where I got that from but I'm certain it was a royalty free sound bank. That's where 99% of my SFX come from.

I wonder if The Fandom Menace is next? Because if that happened to JonTron then it could happen to the anti-Disney clique. 🤔
This was a great game as a 9 yr old in 2003
You're making me feel old, I turned 20 that year hahah!
@@Dongled 😂
This is way better than the garbage console version.
Agreed
