No. The 3D hub world in Spider-Man 2 does work. Once you adjust to it it's actually quite fun to just mess around in the city. It's a lot more fun than if it was just a bonus game like in the first Spider-Man.
Spiderman 2, 3 and mysterios menace...the best for me. However, i think there was a huge improvement in most of the mechanics in the 2 from the 1. All that stiffness, being able to cancel swings and just really having control of spiderman truly was felt in the 2 more - boss fights included. But hey, that's just my opinion. Great review by the way. Just glad to see it's still being played
Don't forget how AWESOME that soundtrack was for the GBA version of Ultimate Spider-Man and I got creeped out by the Venom cutscene music when playing the game at night
Solid vid! Definitely helpful. I'm currently going through a search for some of the best underrated GBA games, and Spider-Man seemed like a prime candidate, so thanks for this video! I liked how detailed you explanations were. Just watch your editing. If you edited out your mistakes, edited it a lot tighter and faster paced to get rid of a lot of the unnecessary dead air, and watched some of the volume inconsistencies, then you would improve your vids 20x. Good luck, and thanks for the list!
I will say this half of the spiderman gameboy games you ranked I love and hated and I agreed with some of your points I own half of these games but as a kid I have a soft spot for battle of new york ultimate spider-man and spider-man three on gameboy advance.
I've finished all of these except BFNY. I would rank them: Best: Spider-Man 1, then Mysterio's Menace, then Ultimate Spider-Man, then Spider-Man 3, then Spider-Man 2. Justification: SM1 is overall the best paced, has a well written story and generally good level design. Mysterio's Menace is a bit shorter than SM1 but it has the most interesting art style, but the way the checkpoints operate can be infuriating. USM was good but it does get a bit boring over time. Spider-Man 3 was extremely short, probably just 1 hour to beat, and it has the same combat as USM and runs on the same engine. It was decent and better than USM in terms of overall level design, but the story was not as good and pretty basic. Finally, SM2 was pretty garbage. Really bad level design, awful boss fights, bad graphics in certain areas, frame-rate issues (on a real GBA) during combat, everything felt worse and slower than in SM1, and I think it also looks the worst out of all SM games on the GBA. If you ever want to buy or play any of them, I would recommend that you play any of them except SM2. USM is better on the DS in my opinion, although that version can be quite infuriating sometimes because of the difficulty spikes.
Great video. Can tell you put alot of effort into it. If i could give you a suggestion though,i would cut out the pauses in your narration. Creates alot of empty space in the video. Particularly at 4:10. Otherwise great video. You have a new subscriber
My favorite was always spiderman 2 on gba, but that's the nostalgia speaking.
I never beat the game. I was always stuck on where to go.
Same love that game, started re-playing it a while ago

Not gonna lie, I enjoyed Ultimate Spiderman more than Spiderman 3

I like part1-2 tobey movie version gb game
Really great video. Very well done and excellent narration
Are we gonna agree that Spiderman 3 on the GBA is way better than the PS2 and PS3 versions of the game?
I 100% agree, definitely gonna have to cover the Raimi trilogy tie-in games on consoles.
THAT'S CRAZY BATTLE FOR NY IS PEAK

I just finished my own review, and I'm glad that we both agreed on Battle for New York and Spiderman 2 being at the bottom of the list
Mysterios menace was one of the first games I ever played
I pop it in and I’m 5 years old riding in the backseat of my parents car again
