    I have both pistols and both have more than 10000 rounds thru.
    The Taurus and the Beretta are both extremly reliable and durable pistols, i trust both with my live.
    The 1911 style safety lever on the Taurus is more ergonomic. The PT92 magazines are trash, Mec-Gar has good ones, Beretta mags do not work in the PT92.
    The Beretta is made nicer and to me it is a work of art. Both guns are in use by military and police around the globe.

  • @jimchambers7548
    @jimchambers7548 Год назад +18

    The original Beretta had a frame safety like Taurus with a heel mag release. And Beretta got the curved trigger gaurd from Taurus, and Taurus can run cocked and locked. I like and have both, good review 👍👍

  • @danielgreen6547
    @danielgreen6547 Год назад +12

    The Taurus grip in the front also is straight all of the way down to the bottom, like the original Beretta 92 and the 92SB.
    Also, for those that care, the Beretta trigger will not fit the Taurus without modification because of the differences in the trigger guard dimensions, BUT, you CAN put the more curved PT92 trigger into the Beretta without modification. If you have small to medium sized hands, you might be very surprised how much easier the Double Action is in the Beretta with the Taurus trigger installed :)

    I've got an earlier Taurus PT 92 ASF (no lock, no picatinni rail) made just after the buy out using same blueprints, machines and some staff that stayed. The stainless has no serial number roughness. The floor plate of the magazine is same as Beretta. Edges are smooth. Slide grip is wide and excellent if hot and sweaty. Much prefer the Taurus.

    In 1995 I purchased a brand new PT 96 after getting out of the Marine Corps.
    I Had both a Berretta M9 and 1911 and they both were great side arms.
    The PT96 was a stove-pipe-o-matic. Don’t know if it was the magazines but couldn’t get through one mag without stove-piping. Only had it a couple months before I sold it. Nice looking gun, with wood grips. In hindsight I should have sent it in for warranty but wasn’t trying to fool with being weaponless for a month.

    I have the Taurus and debated heavily whether to get that or the Girsan. I just couldnt bring myself to go with a slide mounted safety and the 92x Performance was not in the price range I was looking at.
    It's the most accurate handgun I own. And there's still a lot you can do to it even though a lot of Beretta parts don't fit. I was thinking about doing a video on it because I haven't seen anyone with the mods I have.

    I had a 92FS back in the early '90s and I got that pistol after I had a Taurus PT92. I actually prefer the PT92 because of the frame mounted safety. The trigger on the PT92 was better than most 92FS at that time but Beretta triggers got better in the '90s than they had been in the past at least on the 92FS I got. My PT92 could beat my both my buddies 92FS pistols in accuracy. Yes I still prefer the PT92 over the 92FS. Thanks for sharing.

      That generation of Taurus looks getto, espicially Sitting next to a Beretta. I own one of the original Taurus 92's that was made in the original factory on Beretta machinery. It looks exactly like the Beretta you have there in every way shape form fit and finish, except that has some subtle Taurus roll marks on it. It is actually blued, Neither of the pistols there are blue. I really like mine, wouldn't own a new production they skimped big on the fit and finish and just look out right pimpish. They need to put that trigger guard on a diet... That's just for starters.

    Yes, the lanyard is still used int he military, but it's not so people can't take it. It's so you can't leave it anywhere. If it fell out or you set it down, you can't leave it there. Mostly for training because losing a weapon in the military in pease time is a VERY big deal.

    For people wondering which to get Beretta will always be king they started gun manufacturing with a 500 year legacy but with modern advancedments and taurus regaining their name and quality theres no need to drop $700-$1000 on berettas unchanged design when taurus has changed the ergonomics slimmed the design down and given a saftey so everyone can feel comfortable for $400-$600 and if you want it just for looks Taurus offers sexy gold accents and other models for the $500-$600 ballpark

    Well that is because Taurus in 2011 changed the way they made the PT92.
    Back in 1992 When Taurus bought the Beretta factory In brazil, Beretta sold the rights and the machines and blueprints to Taurus, and when Taurus started making this gun, it was called the Taurus PT99 Not PT92.
    when they was manufacturing the PT99 it was the same exact thing as the Beretta 92
    All the Taurus PT99 AF PARA handguns starting from 1992 to 2011 was made exactly as the Beretta 92 was No real difference.
    And it had the Blue Smooth Polished Finish like the Beretta was, and they was no De-cocker at all on either the Beretta or Taurus, until after 2011..
    I know this first hand i studied all this history and i own a Taurus PT99 AF Para, this gun is way better than all the Taurus PT92 Made After 2011 Way better..
    i am going to do a review and look video on it so watch for it.
