- The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual honor given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. In 1990, Katharine Hepburn was honored. This is a tribute video to her presented by Angela Lansbury.
Fun fact: When she met President George Bush at this event she said to him "You're wrong about abortion."
Katharine Hepburn was a classic legend ❤️
Kate was such a great beauty
Wow probably her first time seeing herself in these films especially of Spencer Tracy. She didn’t like to watch her films. Hope it gave her some pleasure.
I HAVE "STATE OF THE UNION" ON DVD AND RECENTLY WATCHED IT..IT IS AMAZING HOW WELL ANGELA PLAYED HER ROLL OF A MUCH OLDER WOMAN THEN SHE WAS AT THE TIME...LOVE KATE ALWAYS..BUT ANGLES IS A MARVEL....
role
love Kate
Do you have the picture at 3:35? If so, can you post it on tumblr? :)
No, sorry, I don't have any of them. They were also new to me when I watched this fragment.
And also the pictures at 6:05 - 6:19?
I admire Kate much more Meryl Streep.
MS is such a scheming opportunist in contrast with a free-spirited independent woman.
@Jannet Lane she embraced it while Meryl somehow proves to be a cerebral performance aiming at attention
interesting wealthy woman... OK. :)
She did not talk back to directors. Her family owned studios.
She was related to the REAL KENNEDYS.
No they didn't and no she wasn't. Her mother's family did own Corning glass however.
She did talk back to her directors. She talked back to John Ford during Mary of Scotland (1936) and he didn't like her doing that. It was the first time a woman talked back to him. She didn't back down and he fell in love with her because of that.
She's not related to the Kennedys. She's related to James Hepburn, Lord Bothwell, an enemy of Mary of Scotland. She was a descendant of Scottish nobility.
Her family did not own studios. Only the Kennedys did with RKO
Wow sounds like Angela hated her.
No, it doesn't... Kate was different than most. I think that is all she was saying...
Half of this is complete BS. I guess if it had been the REAL KATE HEPBURN IT WOULD HELP.
