    There's a 3/4" inline one you can fit on the washing machine offtake without any plumbing. Also check all your pipework is clipped firmly in place 👍🏻

    Had this problem with all taps & toilets until I had the kitchen sink pipework modified during a kitchen/diner refit. The modified pipework which included a new stop tap, improved pipe support and fluid dynamics - no more hammering👍. Expensive fix though😅.

    You need a shock arrestor when you get a plumber's bill...😅

    Would of been the stop tap or loose pipework causing it

    You didnt need a compression T ..This can be converted from 1/2 inch to 15mm by adding an olive and compression nut.

    great video, any reason why you didn't install down near the mains shut off? Looks like you installed it up in the roof space near a boiler maybe? I need to fit one of these myself.

      Was doing boiler service as well, saw that pipe and thought why not 😂 it can go anywhere to be honest, normally fit them on boiler pipework on installs 👍

      Just get one that threads on to the isolator valves and attach where before a washing machine or dishwasher. Those are the worst for causing shocks as well.

    Sometimes we can be too cautious...? You do not need any sealant if you are using Loctite 55.... I have never had a leak using Loctite 55 on its own... not like the olden days of PTFE tape...

    Hi what is the paste

  • @josht8288
    @josht8288 Месяц назад

    Normally the location for the shock arrestor should be as close as possible to the tap, toilet or washing machine not the opposite side of the house.
    Locktite 55 should be applied over itself not following the thread's, for 1/2 inch it's 8 wraps! It certainly doesn't need paste over it, it already contains paste, rub it between your fingers and you'll see it!
    Also get rid of that diy outside tap kit, you had the water off anyway, you changed the kitchen tap why not do it while you are there! that's going to leak, they always do!

      He wasn't there to re do the outside tap although he may or may not have suggested it, everything else is relevant

    • @bluebulldog_uk
      @bluebulldog_uk  26 дней назад +1

      Yeah don’t need paste but didn’t leak so don’t really matter….shock arrestor can go anywhere will still absorb the increase in pressure as it’s still connected to the same pipe
      I didn’t fit the tap mate and if it’s not leaking or causing an issue I’m not going to point out every plumbing fault on customers houses, it just looks like I’m drumming up business. It’s more than likely been there years without fail that outside tap

    Any paste is against legionella byelaws, unless it states it.

      Tell that to decades of plumbers including myself. I've never even heard of that one not will I be changing my ways, my paste is wras approved and that is good enough for me.

    • @killerbean9911
      @killerbean9911 Месяц назад +1

      is it more of a clicking? that'll likely be pipes rubbing against a joists, wrap the pipes in any kind of cloth/sheepwool wrap

    • @shaundean7224
      @shaundean7224 Месяц назад +1

      Loud or quiet is a perception issue, noise from central heating will likely be caused by pipework moving against joists or the wall, will need to clip the pipework properly or lag the affected area to reduce noise, could be caused by faulty mechanical parts like the pump but the above is the most likely issue

    • @bluebulldog_uk
      @bluebulldog_uk  Месяц назад +1

      Loud bang on heating more than likely TRV, ticking noise is pipes rubbing on joists

      Doesn't require and shouldn't be. It's a bit like when I saw Plumber Parts put paste on a fibre washer. That must be the worst tutorial I've seen from any utube flick, I mean how is a fibre washer supposed to swell if you put paste all over it 🙄
