- Day in the life a plumber and callbacks are always part of the job, they are few and far between and no plumber is perfect!
In this episode we take a look at a waste pipe that has become undone for no reason, it took us by surprise to start with! We will be installing some new basin taps, installing a new 24 litre potable vessel and going back to a job we completed 6 weeks ago as there is a leak?!

We all get callbacks, what’s your worst or one that sticks out? Let me know in the comments…thanks you all for your support as always 🙌👍👍
my worse call backs are in my own house as I can't get away from the client.
You may need to check that connection on the multi block
Nice to warch a real plumber at work 😉👍
Pre-formed crossover? tsk!......only kidding, use them myself now and again but they're not cheap
Can’t remember where I got that one from to be honest…is quicker thou 😂😂👍
Whitney Houston love it😂😂
😂😂👍
Great video, you sure that isnt a balance cold connection? Must be a non return valve in there. I would of tee'd lower down to be sure or else you will be back again
Plumbers who don’t get leaks very rare animal 😂😂 nice vlog 👍👍👍👍👍
Haven’t meet one yet 😂 thanks mate appreciate the support 👍
I'm the same as you I hate reducers iv had to go back to them numerous times 😢
Good to see the trv put inwards. I allways think it makes sense in a bathroom as young kiddys and some adults can often often accidentally knock them when there stuck out. Great content and nice little pipe up tonthe expansion vessel. I have the tapex kit, definately a game changer and helps prevent those neck dislocation occasions 🤣
Yeah I think it looks better inwards as well, looks weird outwards to me😅 tappex kit definitely saved my neck and back some stress since I’ve had it 👍👍
Your soldered joints look amazing.
Paradoxically callback build better relations with clients. If managed properly, of course.
Thanks mate, yes your right if you handle them right callbacks can actually improve your business appeal, always say judge a company how it handles a mistake or compliant 👍
Rad tails are great to use as connectors for compression fittings to flexi hoses. You always end up with loads spare if you do TRV swaps. Great vlog of some everyday repairs though Luke 👍🏻
Yes mate great tip 🙌👍
Another interesting video!
Hi,big thanks for video on karcher mini pressure washer Great bit of kit for servicing boilers. Got one on Sunday used it today on 2 ideal logic boilers . Great tip thanks.
Great stuff mate, glad it’s helped out…wouldn’t be without mine now 👍
Have you taken the expansion vessel from the balanced cold connection on the cylinder ?
Thanks for showing the regulator filter, that has been doing my head in… on a sg022 glen hill…there is nothing on the internet that shows that… and I gave up trying and just assumed the in-line filter is installed on better multi blocks.. job for the weekend lol
Brilliant content as always 👍
Thanks mate 👊
Top content again mate.
Thanks mate 👍
Nice one Luke 👍🏻
Thanks mate 👍
👍👍 good content
Cheers mate 🙌
I have to say those JG push fit plastic fittings on the towel rail look really crap when the rest has been soldered 🤦♂️
It don’t look the best il agree but speed-fit pipe is what I was given to work with. Compression maybe but still bulky compression and then copper would still look a bit off I suppose
@@bluebulldog_uk great video mate
@@nmd14723 thanks mate 👍👍
I've found liquid PTFE not the best on shiny chrome fittings.
Had one leak using 577
To be honest I’ve Never had a leak from that rapid blue stuff, tail been lose I’ve never had that either so always a first. 👍
Really enjoyed this episode well done Stan! 🎉😂
Thanks mate 😂👍👍
Thats showing off bear hugging 22mm pipe into a 90 😂 Nice mix of jobs there.
😂 still can’t do it unassisted, need PBs arms for that 😂😂👍
@@bluebulldog_uk ive got to pull a double 90 for a cylinder vent on a 3m length of 22 for the assessment next week. 😬🤣 Best have my shreddies im only 60kg.
Ow bin ya luke, nice work on the expansion vessel.... bloody things always look wonky to me but nice job. The rad leak is just one of them bud, they can all be fine on install but once theyve heated and cooled a few times they can weep. Important thing is you went back and sorted it....ive always put towel rad valves to the inside too, they end up getting stood on otherwise. Excellent content again mate, love your channel ❤
Sound mate 👍 I just tilt my head till it looks level 😂😂 all get callbacks haven’t me a plumber that didn’t have a leak yet just one of them, didn’t take too long to sort out…thanks mate appreciate the support 🙌👍
I fitted two in a row of those compression reducers and they both pee'd out. The third was a different brand and it just about held but now I've lost confidence in them
Whats Scribe ?
Love a callback...NOT!! 😅 great vid Luke 👊🏾
Callbacks are the worse 😭😂 thanks mate 🙌👍
Great job on the expansion vessel why is there a gate valve on the block should be a stop tap or lever valve 👍
It should be mate, never fit gate valves on pressurised system 👍
Ive had an issues in the past running an expansion vessel to far from multi function valve,so i keep it as short as possible now
I did question this with another plumber the distance but couldn’t find anything to say a maximum distance it can be
Funny how all the Unvented PRVs do not pass after testing. Bastard Worcester or Ideal pass before touching them to check expansion! That towel rail is bad. JG to fit and why put the TRV inwards?
Prefer them inwards, outwards looks weird to me…must be personal preference 😅👍👍
Top video pal, was that a tradehelp tape you had?
Thanks Mac…yeah mate met them at installer couple years ago and they sorted me one 👍
@@bluebulldog_uk do you use the app?
I have done in the past but had problems where it wouldn’t link to my city plumbing account for cash back, il have to take another look at it to get it going again 👍
@@bluebulldog_uk if you give them a ring there customer service is great I’m
Sure they’d be happy to help you out
rapid blu , you rate it? what about locktite thread ?
Both really good 👍
Im not a plumber so I might sound silly here, but surely loctite 55 would have been a more suitable option than PTFE tape?!
Either is fine, I use loctite 55 but many lads use PTFE. Its just persoanlly preference.
Both would seal it fine to be honest, never had problem with Ptfe but locktite is better stuff
My call back was, I installed a new closed coupled toilet and new basin to which they supplied, installed all lovely and tested perfect 👌🏼
They then called me back 3 months later and said it was leaking from the pan connector at the back of the toilet.
I told them I can sort that out no problem but it wasn’t my fault but they insisted it was my fault and I should have changed the pan connector when I installed the toilet.
My fault???
Always good practice to change pan connectors with new installation/swap overs
@@aidenhogan613 yeah definitely I usually do but this place was a new build only 2yrs old
Tricky one but I always replace connector on new toilet…there argument could you didn’t advise about it…I would compromise with them and say they pay for connector and you’ll fit it…take it on chin but you’ll have a customer for life if you handle a situation like this well 👍👍
I just use male irons
Bot
@@arronfletcher5434 haha, wise up fletch, you dont even know what a male iron is 🤣🤣🤣
👍👍🤜👌
🙌👍
I’ve just noticed that I wasn’t subscribed, even though I subscribed months ago. Must be some sort of RUclips glitch. Might be worth mentioning to other ‘subscribers’
Thanks for the heads up pal appreciated 🙌👍
But after years of doing the job it still puts a sick feeling in your stomach ..
