@SJ Younty seeing a lot of controversial chat over this. Apparently its possible to regrow enamel. Some say you can, some say can't. I'd like to see a proper study
Brush after every meal - The advice you generally read is “one half hour after eating” as the process of eating temporarily softens the enamel and immediately brushing is more likely to cause wear. I’m sure that rinsing with water first would help mitigate this but I still try to wait before brushing (which is hard because half an hour later I’ve forgotten all about it 😂)
I used to get teased for having a brush with me at school and at work for after lunch, I didn’t even know a third brush was given the green light by dentists, I just used to gently get rid of the food on my molars and wanted minty breath. People used to look at me weird and comment in the bathrooms 😂
I’ve been binging your channel since I went to the dentist for the first time in like 5-8 years. Thankfully, I didn’t have any new cavities, however, I have to go back on Friday to get a gingivitis cleaning. Since this past Friday, I have been improving my dental health routine to try and get in the habit of keeping up with my teeth and gums properly after the cleaning. I was honest and mentioned that I only brushed in the morning with my electric toothbrush but that was a big step up from just brushing manually and I did start to notice a difference after changing toothbrushes. Now I’m brushing in the morning and night, flossing at night, and using mouthwash morning and night (antiseptic rinse in morning and fluoride rinse at night). Today is Monday and I already notice a difference that all of that has made. Thank you for making videos, I learned a lot. ❤️
My hygienist is really cool but she throws in little comments about flossing lol. I've bought the water flosser per her recommendation, so I water floss in the morning and traditional floss in the evening. Your page has been a blessing. Thanks kindly.
My interdental aids came in yesterday and when I say they feel amazing on my poor inflamed gums! I watched your video on Friday night and placed my order for the water pik, electric toothbrush, a fluoride mouth wash, tongue cleaner and the aids. A little bit expensive but worth it b/c my gums have stopped aching in a matter of days. thank you so much for all these videos!

Wish I had come across this video during Quarantine. Quarantine ended up having a very negative impact on my oral health as it prevented me from getting my 6 month regular cleaning&check up from my Dentist thanks to the Lockdowns. When my Dentist's office reopened and I finally got to get a check up she discovered that I had developed a Cavity since the last time I had seen her. I honestly believe that me not being able to have my 6 month check up& cleaning is largely to blame for the fact I developed a Cavity.( Let this be a lesson to everyone. DO NOT miss your 6 month check up with your Dentist if you can avoid it)! Had I come across this video and put all of these suggestions into practice I might not have gotten that Cavity. Love this Channel!!
I am doing all the things you are recommending except the night guard. I always use a tongue scraper and then rinse and drink plenty of water, especially after a spicy meal. I think this helps lower the ph level in my mouth. This really helps with keeping my breath fresh also. I then chew xylitol gum for 20 minutes. When I use my water flosser twice a day, I mix powdered xylitol(available at Walmart) to the water flosser reservoir. My hygienist was recommending that I purchase xylitol infuser water(from her office) for $20 for an 8 ounce bottle, and use as a mouth rinse. I can mix gallons of this same concentration for the same $20. I also called Waterpik and they said it won’t damage the pump. You just need to rinse the pump when you’re done, with water. I soak my toothbrush and tongue scraper in hydrogen peroxide to sanitize daily. I use the older model Sonicare series e electric toothbrush which you can find new on ebay for less than $15. I get the replacement brushes also on eBay for around $2 per brush head. These are copies of Sonicare brush heads but work and look identical. Hope this helps someone. Love your very positive attitude and presentation of very important information in your videos. Thank you so much!
I hadn't had a cleaning in.. Oh, 5 years? Until a couple weeks ago. I had one cavity, a filling that had broken. And I won't pretend I was great with brushing and flossing; I even use fluoride free toothpaste because fluoride makes me breakout around my mouth. It's the water. I drink 95% water. And if I drink anything else, it's shortly followed by water. Best thing you can do for your teeth 👌

I’ve always left the toothpaste on my teeth after my dentist told me not to rinse 😂 then I go and read for half an hour then use a fluoride mouthwash x
Are elecctric toothbrushes better than regular?? Also can you recommend a good floss? I tried this brand called dessert essence and the string kept getting stuck between my teeth.
Each time I brush my teeth, I always get really thirsty so I tend to drink water right after brushing. Is it because of the toothpaste ? Is it actually bad for the teeth ?
That's fine! It's not at all bad for the teeth to drink plain water! It's just recommended to try and leave the fluoride on your teeth for as long as possible (whether it is from the toothpaste or a fluoride mouthwash). Hope this helps!
Hey! 😀 I have 3 questions: 1.) How long should we wait after eating food should we wait to brush out teeth? I heard someone say 15-20 minutes 2.) After we brush and spit out the excess toothpaste and leave the residue sitting there, do we leave that sitting in our teeth and not rinse anymore? 3.) Are there tips to reverse a small cavity?
hi friend! (1) generally should wait 30-60 minutes (2) here is my video about letting the toothpaste sit on teeth: ruclips.net/video/eRk3OEgSggU/видео.html (3) here is my video about helping prevent cavities - same goes for not letting a cavity in the enamel layer of the tooth move to the dentin layer of the tooth - hope this helps: ruclips.net/video/E_Z8UA-jVDc/видео.html
I do it all, i bought philips sonicare dimond electric toothbrush and electric water floss. I alos bought mouth wash orab B its free of alcohol and i use it all everyday once at least before i go to the bed its helped me a lot my teeth got whiter and over all clean and healthy gum 😀
So I do a lot of these things already because I always have a lot of cavities and for years I did not care to floss. So now I am very extra in love with taking care of my teeth and looking for ways to take even better care of them. My question is isn't brushing too much bad for our teeth as it can cause gum recession? I brush twice a day faithfully now but is it healthy to add a third without causing damage?
I don't get why not everyone uses plaque disclosing tablets. I used it every couple of weeks. No matter how hard I try, there is always a spot I miss and only by those I know where it is
I hate it when toothpaste mixes with my saliva I think whether I should spit it out or swallow it what should I do? how long should I leave it in my mouth?
Hello! I have a question regarding the fluoride. I use the fluoride mouth wash but I'm also planning on getting the fluoride tooth paste. Can you use both at once? I feel like that would be unnecessary. And if I use them sparely, when could I use the mouth wash with fluoride?
Okay I have a bit of a dumb question, should we be flossing after all 3 brushing?? P.S I love your videos and find them to be so helpful and educational, I haven't always been the best at brushing my teeth, your videos have helped tremendously!!
NOT at all dumb!!! That's a good question! You do not HAVEEE to floss multiple times a day, however, it definitely can't hurt if you do! The rule of thumb is "floss at least once a day" but I notice myself flossing at least twice...sometimes even three times. Just make sure you use the proper techniques to not hurt your gums! Here is my flossing video: teethtalkgirl.com/videos/how-to-hold-dental-floss-properly?rq=floss
@@TeethTalk i am a healthy ole hippy working fool and my dentist lady tells me my gumlines are receding and i have seen videos' on how to reverse this. are these videos' a waste of time? i am gonna be 65 this month. i also love unwaxed floss and i floss after every meal and never eat twixt meals and i have noticed even after flossing and rinsing with ACT mouthwash as my dentist said to that there is still a light scum i remove on all surfaces which i check with a dental tool every night and i wonder if a pulse water flosser is good or can they damage gums even more?
but I personally make sure I always brush right when I wake up before breakfast! and then I try to always floss after breakfast and swish with fluoride mouthwash! always ask your dental provider what they recommend for you :)
visit your dentist as soon as you can for a gum exam. until then - warm salt water rinses are soothing on the gums as needed and proper routine brushing and flossing is important for them to not get worse. hope this helps!
@@TeethTalk Yeah but I can't go to the dentist because of the pandemic. Can i ask if how many times should i rinse my mouth with saltwater in a day or week?
Great video! I've heard though that you shouldn't brush your teeth after you eat for at least half hour-an hour, but preferably you should brush before you eat. Is this not true? Thanks!
yes! the ADA says to wait at least 30-60 minutes to brush your teeth after eating - that's a thing! the brushing before you eat is a thing in the morning - you def want to brush right when you wake up if you can! hope this helps!
Due to user-error of manual toothbrushes - electric toothbrushes often benefit patients more. I truly like most of them...especially sonicare, burst, and oral-b. Hope this helps! In the video, I'm using burst and I have a coupon code in the bottom bar. Happy brushing!
I want to start brushing after every meal but apparently brushing more than 4 minutes a day can wear down the enamel? :( I'm brushing for 3 mins first thing in the morning and for 3 minutes an hour after breakfast and for 3 minutes an hour after dinner which is already 9 minutes total daily. If I add lunch too, that makes it 12 minutes of brushing daily which is 3x the 4 daily minutes recommended :( I'm confused bc I can see how brushing after every meal makes sense but don't want to over-brush either. Or is the 4 minutes total recommendation bad advice?
I always do these every single day... but my problem is that I get tonsil stones even if I do this. Can you suggest something to prevent tonsil stones from happening? :) Thank you so much for this video.
always ask your dentist and/or physician for their advice on your individual mouth! but I gargle with warm water (and sometimes add salt) to help prevent!
Hi. I added salt water gargle in my routine, doing it 2 times a day. In addition, I used baking soda once a week. Just want to ask if am I damaging my teeth with these?
Great video 😉 I water floss daily but I find it so hard to floss with a thread so I use those disposable dental floss picks! But how many should I use for flossing I don’t wanna spread bacteria 🥺xx
I tried not rinsing my mouth after brushing, it made my lips really dry. Is there anything I can do to change that? As I can't leave the toothpaste in my mouth now, as if I do I can barely talk my lips become that dry.
@@TeethTalk i started using flouride toothpaste and flouride mouth wash after abstaining for years cause my dentist told me to, but some folks tell me that flouride is a bad poison to use on ourselves, i give up!
Wonderful video again Whitney!!!! You know I feel that so many people are to fast at cleaning their teeth including my roommates hahahaha I can’t do it for them of course, but as you know I have always been into oral health and spending lots of time taking care of my teeth hahahaha!!! A lot of people just want to get it over with and done but this is such a bad mentality. We got to do things right. I know my roommates for example some of them have electric toothbrushes but they it seems like turn the brush on and then off and say that is good enough. They think that the electric toothbrush is going to just speed through everything in reality they are not using the 2 minute timer and quad paces that it has. The mentality is “oh it is electric, so I can just use it for 10 seconds or a little les and good.” No!!! This is bad a you and I know hahahaha!!! That is why I get asked sometimes why I spend a lot of time in the bathroom just for my teeth hahahahaha Oh no!!!! I tell them,,, well, it is good for you to spend time and that is why I do it. Flossing and everything else to I do and it is like a spa session for me. I am proud of cleaning teeth and keeping my game up. I should beeing a that i am a dental Greek hahahahaha and beings that i am on the toothy team with you i got to set that example as a dental patient for those around me.
Hey ...do masks make the mouth dry and is in turn bad for teeth? In my opinion, if the mask is super tight , it feels like its limiting movement of saliva to move around in the mouth. Maybe you can look into it? Thanks.
I really suck at dental hygiene :/ like really bad. Plus I have braces so its even worse. (I was also born premature and had to be given some medication, according to my mom it effected my teeth?)
This was amazing, thank you! I love your channel I recommend it to anyone if we start talking about teeth! 😂 quick question, I’ve had braces for about 9 months now and I’ve noticed that my gums are starting to get swollen. Is there anything I can do to help reduce the swelling?
Thank you so much for watching! The best thing is to keep them SUPER clean by getting routine cleanings in the dental office and working extra hard at home! I have a video all about different options to best clean braces. Hope this helps: teethtalkgirl.com/videos/braces-care-routine?rq=braces
I was wondering if you can post your thoughts about remineralizing teeth. I've seen some videos of people creating their own toothpaste that can help restore their enamel. I'm looking for a qualified person to share their thoughts on that :)
Here’s the number 1 oral hygiene key, the size and shape of your brush should fit your mouth, allowing you to reach all areas easily. The proper brushing technique is to place your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to your gums. - Dr. Lisa Germain.
It's my first time on ur channel and I thank u for giving so much info about teeth But literally at the last part I thought u have slipped on the ground 😂
great question! the first thing I always recommend is to visit your dentist so they can evaluate your gums to find out if its gingivitis or periodontitis and then they can give you a treatment plan and home care routine. here are my videos explaining the differences: teethtalkgirl.com/videos/gingivitis?rq=gingivitis
you should use a waterpik to floss. That's what I use but because I have braces, but it's still effective. I personally hate using that string in-between my teeth lol
Hi I have brown circular spot on my molar and I’m really worried about it 🥺 I’m not so much worried about getting a filling but the fact that it’s there and I can’t do anything about it apart from keep a good oral routine is creating a lot of anxiety for me as I know that it will only get worse from here on out. Any tips?
if your dental office is not currently open - I would call and ask for their advice and recommendations for you regarding that tooth since they will have updated chart information on your individual mouth! hope this helps!
Do you have videos about how to clean the tongue and what makes the tongue white ?? Every-time I go to the dentist they always tell me that I need to clean my tongue....
Ik this has been out for a year but I’m having bad breath I usually clean my tongue with tongue scraper. I brush my tongue and teeth I still have bad breath I brush 3 times a day and floss and drink 2 bottle of water.
I've never heard of the 3x/day limit! as long as you are a gentle brusher with a soft toothbrush - another time is generally fine. if you're unsure - always as your dentist. hope this helps!
my first suggestion is to schedule an appointment for a professional cleaning at your dentist and then start flossing routinely! here is my bleeding gums video with more info about that - hope this helps: teethtalkgirl.com/videos/bleeding-gums?rq=bleeding

Teeth Talk Girl thank you! Virtual award accepted! 😂💕
They say that fluoride causes cancer
@@yanet6320 don‘t believe that! It‘s mostly anti vax and anti science dumbasses saying that. Fluoride is good for you
@@oezxo they’re called people who think for themselves
Are elecctric toothbrushes better than regular?? Also can you recommend a good floss? I tried this brand called dessert essence and the string kept getting stuck between my teeth.
I snack so much because I have a fast metabolism and use up energy quickly. So that’s hard even with drinking a lot of water lol
SAME!!!! I try to drink as much water as possible to help :)
Tysm for this informative video doc! Would a tongue scraper be necessary?
yesss! tongue scrapers are so so so beneficial and recommended :)
You’ve got my subscription. Watched a few of your videos and it’s made me up my oral hygiene routine. Thank you! 🙂
so happy to hear that! thank you for being here! wishing you continued dental health!

Hey! 😀 I have 3 questions:
1.) How long should we wait after eating food should we wait to brush out teeth? I heard someone say 15-20 minutes
2.) After we brush and spit out the excess toothpaste and leave the residue sitting there, do we leave that sitting in our teeth and not rinse anymore?
3.) Are there tips to reverse a small cavity?
hi friend!
(1) generally should wait 30-60 minutes
(2) here is my video about letting the toothpaste sit on teeth: ruclips.net/video/eRk3OEgSggU/видео.html
(3) here is my video about helping prevent cavities - same goes for not letting a cavity in the enamel layer of the tooth move to the dentin layer of the tooth - hope this helps: ruclips.net/video/E_Z8UA-jVDc/видео.html
@@TeethTalk Awesome. Thanks a lot Whitney!
I do it all, i bought philips sonicare dimond electric toothbrush and electric water floss. I alos bought mouth wash orab B its free of alcohol and i use it all everyday once at least before i go to the bed its helped me a lot my teeth got whiter and over all clean and healthy gum 😀
The dental floss need to be changed? How often? Please 😬
Can you do a video review on the hum electric toothbrush??!
I already did all these things before watching this vid. I’m proud😊😊😊
yessss!!!!! that's awesome keep up the great work!
Watched this video because my dental hygienist was disappointed with my latest review. Lol, thanks for the tips!
I don't get why not everyone uses plaque disclosing tablets. I used it every couple of weeks. No matter how hard I try, there is always a spot I miss and only by those I know where it is
I hate it when toothpaste mixes with my saliva I think whether I should spit it out or swallow it
what should I do?
how long should I leave it in my mouth?
Hello! I have a question regarding the fluoride.
I use the fluoride mouth wash but I'm also planning on getting the fluoride tooth paste. Can you use both at once?
I feel like that would be unnecessary. And if I use them sparely, when could I use the mouth wash with fluoride?
i love your videos!!! so helpful and and puts a little pep in my oral hygiene step!
@@TeethTalk thank you!!
Should we need to brush after breakfast?
technically if you can - that would be great too! and you should wait 30 minutes after eating!
but I personally make sure I always brush right when I wake up before breakfast! and then I try to always floss after breakfast and swish with fluoride mouthwash! always ask your dental provider what they recommend for you :)
My gums hurt when i floss and i am aware that it might be a gum disease, do you have any tips to stop the ache?
visit your dentist as soon as you can for a gum exam. until then - warm salt water rinses are soothing on the gums as needed and proper routine brushing and flossing is important for them to not get worse. hope this helps!
@@TeethTalk It does! Thanks :)
I have a question is a electric toothbrush better than a Manuel and if so what electric toothbrush is good
Due to user-error of manual toothbrushes - electric toothbrushes often benefit patients more.
When you have a instant water floss advert at the end of the video...
10 second floss apparently
oh wow hahahaha can't control what they advertise that's so funny
@@TeethTalk maybe google is listening or something 😅😁
I always do these every single day... but my problem is that I get tonsil stones even if I do this. Can you suggest something to prevent tonsil stones from happening? :) Thank you so much for this video.
always ask your dentist and/or physician for their advice on your individual mouth! but I gargle with warm water (and sometimes add salt) to help prevent!
So you're saying now 4 times (before breakfast, after breakfast, after lunch, and before bed)?
Thank you
If leaving the toothpaste in your mouth isn't working out for you - try using a fluoride mouthwash instead. Hope this helps!
What would u do if u have abscessed tooth?
Teeth Talk Girl I’ll check out your video, thank you so much for the reply! 💕
hi, my water flosser doesn’t have as much pressure no more so i’ve stopped using it. i’ve tried cleaning it but it didn’t help. any recommendations?
Very informative! I thought I knew how to take care of my teeth but this showed me how much I don't know!
Thank you so much for watching! Sending positive toothy vibes your way!
I was wondering if you can post your thoughts about remineralizing teeth. I've seen some videos of people creating their own toothpaste that can help restore their enamel. I'm looking for a qualified person to share their thoughts on that :)
You should do a video on ultrasound, not ultrasonic, ultrasound toothbrushes please. Also, have you heard of periogen? I've heard it works quite well.
Brushing after every meal ? Doesnt the enamel get corroded .. specially cos it would be more acidic after a meal ?
great question! it is always recommended to wait between 30-60 minutes after eating before brushing! hope this helps!
@@TeethTalk certainly helps. Thank u. Been brushing thrice a day since ur video
I have to do multiple smaller meals throughout the day because of acide reflux so yay
If I brush my teeth more then twice a day my gums get sore. I try to be gentle too.
see your dentist about that.
I would totally recommend asking your dentist about that. They can better examine your teeth and gums to see what's going on. Stay well!
And make sure you only use soft bristles, and use your fingers and wrists, not the full force of your biceps.
Is it ok if I brush my teeth one time every day at night?I also brush my teeth at least 4 to 5 min
it is recommended to brush two times each day - once in the morning and once at night! hope this helps!
Here’s the number 1 oral hygiene key, the size and shape of your brush should fit your mouth, allowing you to reach all areas easily. The proper brushing technique is to place your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to your gums. - Dr. Lisa Germain.
For how long I should brush my teeth?
2 minutes :)
Can you please talk about the controversy over fluoride? Thanks!
yay just filmed a video about natural toothpaste! editing it and posting in the next few weeks :)
Great. Will look forward to seeing it!
It's my first time on ur channel and I thank u for giving so much info about teeth
But literally at the last part I thought u have slipped on the ground 😂
thank you so much for watching! and haha YESSS I used to always "fall" out of the screen at the end ;)
Hi my gum bleeds every time I brush my teeth. What should I do?
great question! the first thing I always recommend is to visit your dentist so they can evaluate your gums to find out if its gingivitis or periodontitis and then they can give you a treatment plan and home care routine. here are my videos explaining the differences: teethtalkgirl.com/videos/gingivitis?rq=gingivitis
Is brushing after every meal dangerous? Like I have heard that the healthy enamel will start to get brushed off if we brush more often! (JUST ASKING)
waiting 30-60 minuets after you eat is good to brush :) hope this helps!
@@TeethTalk thank you
why do i feel like when i use dental floss it makes the space in between my teeth a lot bigger?
it won't make the space between your teeth bigger - but it will remove plaque that was stuck in that space so it is now exposed. hope that helps!
Your not alone @Jerico Fermin
you should use a waterpik to floss. That's what I use but because I have braces, but it's still effective. I personally hate using that string in-between my teeth lol
Everyone always says flossing is so annoying but for me I’d rather floss than brush
Can you show how to floss the top teeth?

Hi I have brown circular spot on my molar and I’m really worried about it 🥺 I’m not so much worried about getting a filling but the fact that it’s there and I can’t do anything about it apart from keep a good oral routine is creating a lot of anxiety for me as I know that it will only get worse from here on out. Any tips?
if your dental office is not currently open - I would call and ask for their advice and recommendations for you regarding that tooth since they will have updated chart information on your individual mouth! hope this helps!

Do you have videos about how to clean the tongue and what makes the tongue white ?? Every-time I go to the dentist they always tell me that I need to clean my tongue....
great question! tongue scrapers are usually the way to go! I've been using "orabrush" lately you can find in most stores!
"Drink more water"
I literally almost bursted coz i drank too much water and i was in bus home, so I think i am doing a solid job 🤣
When I’m doubt whip it out
Ik this has been out for a year but I’m having bad breath I usually clean my tongue with tongue scraper. I brush my tongue and teeth I still have bad breath I brush 3 times a day and floss and drink 2 bottle of water.
You are only allowed to brush 3x a day so if you brush after every meal what happens when it's bedtime?
I've never heard of the 3x/day limit! as long as you are a gentle brusher with a soft toothbrush - another time is generally fine. if you're unsure - always as your dentist. hope this helps!
