    First let me say that I don't know the guy on this channel and I am certainly not sponsored by K&W, but I can't say enough positive things about K & W Fiberlock Head Gasket Block Repair! This stuff really works! I have a 2000 cadillac deville with a northstar which everyone knows are notorious for head gasket problems. Knowing this I kept an eye on it but never had any trouble, until I took it from Oklahoma to Destin, Florida by way of New Orleans this past week. The first two days of driving were uneventful, but soon after leaving New Orleans, the temp began to rise. After checking the fluid levels we continued on as our trip was less than 200 miles. Well it continued to run above normal with the a/c on, but would cool back down when the a/c was turned off. We made it to Florida and spent several days there without issues. I even attempted to diagnose the problem expecting a dreaded head gasket problem, but there were no symptoms. So we left Destin headed to Montgomery, AL and about an hour into the trip it began behaving as it did before. We made it to Montgomery in the nick of time though we had to stop about 10 miles short of our destination because the heat began to rise uncontrollably. I suspected a stuck thermostat or water pump and a mechanic my brother know said that after looking at it, it was the thermostat & water pump so he replaced those and the cooling fans since one wasn't working properly. The next day I began my trip home and made it about an hour & half into my 11.5 hour trip home when the temp started rising uncontrollably again. I hobbled into Jasper, AL the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. I contacted anyone I could and they all though I had a cracked head or blown gasket. Without many options, I went into an AutoZone and purchased K&W Fiberlock and waited for the engine to cool to use the product. So after sitting for over an hour I added K&W per the instructions and set off toward home hoping for the best but not expecting it. Needless to say, it worked! I made it three more hours to Memohis and drove another 7 hours today in 91 degree heat (using the a/c) without the temp ever rising above normal! I am still astonished and I would recommend K&W to anyone with a similar issue. I was able to drive in warm weather about 650 miles over two days after I though I might have to find another way home! K&W is great and it really works!

    Blew a head gasket on PT cruiser turbo.. Removed and resurfaced the head
    When I put the resurfaced head back...i put too much torque on 3 of the 10 head bolts. Cracked my block in 3 different places around where the 3 head bolt areas. Small cracks.
    Well, I removed the old head and bought a new head and re-installed.
    Turned the car over and is running. I let it run for 15 minutes....no over heating.
    Should I add this fiber lock stuff anyway just to be on the safe side?

    My car was burning coolant so I dumped the coolant & used water for a while so when I used the fiberlock it was without any coolant which I feel can affect how this stuff works so if you are going to use this stuff make sure you drain the coolant & add water , let it idle for a half hour then drain that water to clean out the cooling system . Then go thrue yhe process

  • @lightotw
    @lightotw 7 лет назад +6

    I would not pour it on paint. The instructions say not to let it land on exposed radiator fins, so I expect it to be damaging to the metal when not diluted.
    My tip: make sure you burp air pockets from your cooling system if you are not using a professional to have coolant changed. How to do that can depend on your vehihcle. Some have air bleed off screws at a high point on the engine. If you don't get the air out of the system, your car can over heat suddenly when the air pocket enters the engine block. I think many people believe their thermostat is blocked when this happens. Search youtube for videos on burping the air out of the cooling system. It can save your car from sudden over heating and possible engine damage.

    well i used it today, and it worked immediately, my leak was right at the nose of my motor, behind the thermostat housing, it was leaking very consistently, my vehicle is a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.2 motor (318). what i did before using it, after doing research is, i by
    passed the heater core hoses into each other so that the core wouldn't get clogged up, also, so that it wouldn't clog up the thermostat i poured it into the inlet hose to the left of the thermostat housing which is in my opinion a more direct contact as the motor heats up, hope this helps whoever. but the truth is in the pudding over time.

    Sounds like it does have an effect, but as you said its working but how long is the question.
    Dont be supprised if that engine pops its clogs, it sounds nasty and using it in that state is just asking for the grim reaper to visit lol.

      I see that stuff as a similar idea to tyre slime, it works for a short term bodge.
      A rebuild or scrapyard engine would be my choice, that engine is ill.
      I wouldnt trust it as far as i could throw it LOL :-D

      Incorrect. They won't even match local autozone prices even if the part is at autozone hub in the same county.

      You have to read the comments instead of just cussing like a spoiled brat thats too good to read. He responded two years later saying it still worked and has on others as well.
