I played through the 1986 Championship on Assetto Corsa and that (and also the AC 1991 and 2002 Championships) have been the absolute pinnacle of my whole gaming life. These mods are so unbelievably good and atmospheric... and they drive SOOOOO good. In the 1986 mod the cars are genuinely scary and you gotta use the 100% turbo on qualifying and then play with the risks in the race. If you use the boost too much your engine will explode. The 1988 tracks are pretty damn well made and everything is spot on. It's almost a crime that these vintage F1 mods on AC don't get more attention as 1986 was (imho) the pinnacle of F1. Just look at the lineup: K.Rosberg, Prost, Senna, Mansell, Piquet, De Angelis, Berger, Alboreto... and those insane 1500 hp turbo cars. The drivers were absolute nutcases to even drive such monsters.
@@SmokinKipper I think there is a limit of 22 cars on some of the 1988 tracks that the 1986 mod uses. The full grid is available. I just left out some lower tier drivers of the championship. The one you want to have is: Driving Through The Decades - 70 Years of F1 - 1986 Custom Championship 1.0 from RaceDepartment forum. I guarantee it's brilliant.
I've found that unpacking the data, lowering the steering assist to 50-60 and then lowering the FFB strength by 0.2-0.5 provides a more detailed road surface orientated wheel. But obviously that null and voids any online racing 🤷
@@haydonclampitt I like to unpack the data as then I only have to change the steering assist once. Plus I'm a bit weird about fine tuning the road feel exactly how I like. I'm sure that app is great though 💪
Yes because I specifically set the wheel to - 750 from 900 whilst we were live streaming last night for 5 hours as by setting a lower wheel rotation relative to the sim it can offset any delay or sluggish behaviour a car might have in a given simulator. It's not an ideal solution mostly due to the fact that if its not a specific ratio for the initial value in the game it will then make steering input and FFB from the game non linear , and can cause overshoot. But its an option if or when a car responds in a somewhat sluggish manor to wheel input - the other option would be to change steering rack speed ( not an option in AC) or to use the "steer assist" setting some cars have in AC but as I point out in the video that does not seem to work properly with fanatec wheels / the current drivers I have for whatever reason.

Promises “glorious Donington GP” track. Delivers Brands.
This is the other Donington
@@GamerMuscleVideos The Donington track called Brands Hatch?

Sounds amazing. I’ll have to get some 1980s tracks/mods and give it a go myself! Did you find the full track roster for 1986?

I'm just here to see a man that looks as if he gives excellent power point presentations break out in a sweat.
Take it round the Österreichring '79 (I think??) circuit. It's a Reiza conversion to AC but it fits this car brilliantly. Wheelspin in 3rd gear 💪
This thing at Adelaide is a riot to drive.
Migel Nansell would be proud.... Do the tyres actually explode? 🤔😉
Here for the gameplay, stayed for the socks
Nice throttle sock!
Funniest looking Donington I've ever seen.
They moved it a bit and changed layout
@@GamerMuscleVideos Another classic screwup by GM.
What hubs are they?
The ULTIMATE Manual Race Car, you ask GM............... that's easy - the Mazda MX5 of course. ;P
P.S. Honourable mention to the KTM X-Bow R. [;]-)
180L is £257 of unleaded at todays prices
That's ok , people can't afford to eat let alone put fule in there cars
Eat for a month or fuel the FW11, these are indeed tough times we live in
??Why the odd Socks???

Use the FFB controller app in game to adjust some of that.
You can additionally turn down the steer assist in the setup options

from this video it looks like you are using a 1080° input with 900° of steering. steering ingame looks off

RSS might release a v2 of this car. They seem to release cars early and then add small stuff in patches.
RSS is the last team to release cars early. They release the most complete cars imo. Only after user feedback they release updates, not patches
I think your are confusing RSS with VRC or URD.
@@Kayumi92 They released a v2 of the P91 Hybrid(919 Evo) recently. It's not uncommon
@@perhapsjames_ You claim that they release cars early, that is simply not true.
It's not as good as the RSS 1990 V12 in my IMO, but I guess that's not as manual.
"Ur FOV is wrong"
You need to adjust your gear ratios 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your AC fanboyism is getting very boring!
