Kind of hard to react to NF if you didn't start at the beginning. You have to know about how he personifies his different emotions like fear and anger, in order to really understand the part towards the beginning where different voices are saying "my album". You have to understand the dressed in black to realize the importance of him dressed in all white now. I knew as soon as NF had a son he would change. God knew exactly what he needed and He delivered because he stayed true to himself and to God and was able to work in his life because of his humility. His whole Journey shines a light on the #1 issues in America. Mental issues, consequences of drugs and broken homes (specifically fatherless homes both the parental figure and the Divine, Father God). No wonder everyone can relate to the lyrics even if you don’t like the music. I’m afraid the worst would have happened if NF didn’t have Christianity long ago while being tormented by his demons and own mind (from personal experience while in sleep paralysis I literally met the inter-dimensional fallen angels assigned to me while I was beginning my Christian walk. I eventually even had an out of body experience/vision of a perfect humanity United in worship and bliss when God’s son Jesus returns). Therapy session talks about God giving NF an outlet and now He delivered him a son (symbolic to God giving his Son to humanity to be redeemed and saved). I can already see it now, just a theory but the next 2 albums could be Faith and Charity completing the 3 Christian virtues. He could end his career after that and devote all his time to his family and eventually even grandchildren and we would all be thrilled and Natefulled. Jesus is truth, Hope is here.
Your god didn't do a thing; this is years of working through your own issues. Your comment is pretty much equivalent to stories of people's houses burning down, but praising a god because the holy book didn't completely go up in flames.
After watching this, rewatch it again. Close your eyes and imagine it is actually Hope and the Holy Spirit speaking to your soul telling you to let go and let God guide your life. It is an amazing experience. The map represents the Bible.
It's the map to hope, as he said in a song before "i'm looking for the map to hope, you seen it?" and now he has it. And that map to hope is probably a metaphor for the Bible as you said, because he is a Christian, and had religious elements in his songs before
I want to see him react to this again, after learning more about NF and seeing more of his stuff. He likes artistry, I think he'll appreciate this way more after experiencing his older stuff
Nate is awesome, I love how he admitted to his past faults, even bringing up a line where he went to church (if I find the song, I’ll put a little edit) but it’s where he learned to judge, it’s good that nowadays everybody is a lot more tolerant and accepting of others, but I won’t lie and say that all religions are there yet.
“Church is where I found God, but it's also where I learned to judge” - 10 Feet Down It’s unfortunate that so many people within the church will judge in an unrighteousness way. We are in fact called to judge, but only in a righteous way. 👍
As a huge nf fan this was awesome and the timing in my life finding this is helpful beyond what I can exspress. I've watched more of your videos but I had to come back to this video cus this is where I found you guys and it was the sign i was asking for.
Let me just say that, listening to HOPE as your first taste of NF is like skipping every single Marvel film and just watching Endgame. You don't get the whole story and I don't think you can truly appreciate what NF has built. But you do you.
12:58 I love this. It’s a whole thing that’s hard to really explain to someone so it’s like aww come on I need you to understand and appreciate this 😂 I love NF and I’m a longtime fan. NF is like no other rapper and he never swears in his songs which I appreciate.
He is a Christian but his music is for all to hear and for help to recover from what they’re going through I’ve been listening to him since 2014 and this is different he’s changing his life for hope and like I said he is Christian he even says it he’s a Christian but he’s not perfect
I would have loved to hear more of the Senior Pastor's opinions, but he doesn't seem like the most articulate person. "I like that." "I don't like that." "I don't listen to lyrics." Hmm....
This was our first reaction video that we’ve made. I do think he made some good points. But in the future we will try to do more explaining of why we think a certain way. Thanks for the feedback!
The end of this song literally leaves tears in my eyes everytime i hear it as a 42 year old father of 2 beautiful girls! If you have listened to all of his music you understand!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS SONG!! NF is my favorite artist even though I only discovered him last year. And this song was absolutely amazing, I loved everything about it and the music video too was top knotch. Idk if it's a top 10 song but if it's not, it's pretty close
There was a misconception towards the Start about him saying. "My album my album" what it really was about is, hope and despair arguing about who would be in charge of the new album .
Right, it was tying in the line of "it's time to give the people something different." It's a reference to his content and how he doesn't want to keep making the same music he always has that dwells on his pain and his past.
There's a lot of references in this video that anyone who's never heard if him would not get. When he gets knocked into the mansion, it's a refernce of him being knocked his past, he had a song called mansion with that music as the intro. Hes fighting with himself and the thoughts in his head
6:50 I just want to point out that he doesn’t say follow what your heart says. He says listen. Knowing that NF is a Christian he doesn’t follow his heart. He follows Jesus. That’s what Act 1 was explaining. He was following his feelings (NF in black clothing) instead the map to hope that God has given him. And as a result it led him back to where he was originally. Lost. As Christians we believe that the heart of someone can be deceitful. That’s where we get the idea that feelings can lie to you. Feelings come from your heart. Your feelings can be manipulated. But he says listen to your heart because what your feeling in a certain situation can tell you where you are as a follower of Jesus or even where you are just as a person. God uses those feelings to teach you things about yourself that you might not have known before and that are important. Just something I wanted to point out.
This was a really fun review to watch and completely different from the other reviewers especially from someone who is very unfamiliar and not into NF. The friend's reaction was great too because he's a fan.
Love this entire experience! Thank you All! Thank You Lord for ALL the immeasurably vast avenues / artists your reclaiming Your WORD & World! Amen 🕊️🤝🙏
so cool u can find both music and video directors, people who relate, lyrical artists, religious people and even therapists reacting and giving their opinions on it.
Lyrics are the biggest part of Nate's music so it's essential to listen to his lyrics. That's where everything is shared. I am a musician but lyrics are the most important part without lyrics we wouldn't have masterpieces like stair way to heaven, hey Jude, castles made of sand ... And list goes on
"The heart is deceitful above all things" is so often misused. "Don't ever trust your heart, it's deceitful, maaaaan!" Your heart is not literally deceitful. Read a metaphor as a metaphor, literally. Yes, the unredeemed heart can keep you from God. But that's the point: God wants to make your heart new. That's why we need Him. And hear the redemption story: I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints. (Ephesians 1:18) I believe Nate gets this.
everytime hearing the song ending i am way too caught in it every time hearing it im way to invested into his music i am always caught off guard with this song no matter how many times i hear this
I'm with your dad on the musical breakdown of a song. I personally listened to the music first, the Rhythm/Beat breathed life into the song. The replay ability of the song forces me to understand the reason the beat is there, then opens my mind to understand the lyrics.
I love this. It’s obviously just not the music he grew up. But, he obviously appreciates the creativity of NF. Even though he doesn’t know the back story, he asked some good questions about it.
I don't know if anyone knew this but in one of nfs song, he said "I'm looking for the map to hope, you seen it?" And on this he is holding the map to hope.
During his raft scene, I had the impression that it kinda loosely felt like a "Noah's Ark" reference in terms of being adrift, surrounded by almost nothingness. And yes, I do get the "Castaway" vibe as well. Secondly, I thought Nathan drove home how we as individuals who are constantly transitioning from one level of growth to another get sidetracked by the comfortable and familiar things and ways of doing things, regardless of how defeating and ultimately detrimental these coping mechanisms have shown themselves to be as a rule. It takes strong conviction and "on purpose" actions done over time to rewrite and restructure our automatic responses in times of calm and in times of great stress and confusion. Wonderful open ended reaction video guys. Point your fixated friend down the rabbit hole, and we'll watch him become an "Outcast".
NF is still very much a christian even though he's been becoming more mainstream and has always has contributed Christian attributes into his lyrics and speaks about God many times throughout the years
That's one of the things about nate's music. His production and videos is so good that it's hard to take on everything at once. The lyrics and the cinematography. I think that's why I'm songs like intro 3 a music video wouldn't really work. You have to listen closely to the words and the story.
if yall listen to the words of the demon side of Nate of the transition color where it hits black. it says Hey Nate wait, You'll never evolve, We are not enough, You don't have the heart, You don't have the will, You'll never be loved, Might as well give up, You don't have the guts, and "no" his him being defeated,. but anyone noticed the vein of his neck.
Love how real you are and not trying to fake the " I have never heard of this Son " stuff, you straight out said that you listened to the song a lot, but the other didn't. Lot's of reaction videos out there are of people trying to tell me that they never heard of Eminem or someshit when they clearly have
Where do I begin 😅... Christian here, and there are a few interesting things I thought to point out: 1. I can relate to the [seasoned] pastor's fascination for the instruments over the lyrics, I'm often like that too and I rarely give in-depth attention to lyrics (but I'm aware enough to pick up on themes and know which to keep jamming to and which to avoid)... That said, I think prepping him ahead of time to try to give good attention to the lyrics would have been much better. NF is a very lyrical artiste, and there isn't much of a reaction to make if the lyrics aren't picked up, especially when you consider how it ties together with the story that the video and instrumentals tell. Props to you for doing your best to explain throughout the video though, but I thought it could have been done better. 2. I can relate to the thing he said about the heart being deceitful, I instantly thought about that when I heard it too 😅, but in this context, I think NF's use of it is a reference to passion and purpose (as opposed to sporadic desires and the inner misdirections that he's been dealing with); and he's careful enough to look for this in a hopeful place outside his own deceitful mind. 3. Yeah, NF did start out in the CHH/CM space. I'm not so familiar with that version of him, I started my journey with him from Perception and I've only seen a few prior to that (but I've heard the entirety of Therapy Session, and a few tracks from Mansion)... From an interview he did, he talked about feeling the need to venture out to create something more "raw"/expressive of his own life. He didn't necessarily ditch the "Christian music", he makes occasional references to his journey and continuing faith in God, (but he technically isn't a gospel artiste even though people still try to lump him in that genre) and he's honest about not talking to God as frequently as he should, but he accredits being kept afloat in the midst of his despair to Him. It's amazing to see how he's allowed himself to be used by God though, directly or indirectly. He has touched many lives for the better, and given them something to hold on to in their despair (you should both see the amount of testimonies that people leave in the comment sections of How Could You Leave Us videos, and that's not even half of the therapeutic stuff he's put out there). He's a young man on life's journey and as an even younger Christian myself, I can only Hope it gets a lot better for him now that he seems to have crossed a checkpoint... because the teenage to 30s era is really a hectic moulding season for many, and it was especially heavy for him.

@@joszsz I've watched a ton before, but it's a lot tougher than it looks. And I'd seen this one before. Our next one will probably be a blind reaction. To process, music, visuals, and lyrics in the first take, it's pretty tough.
"I don't care if the song is terrible from here on out it's a pretty good film" Actually the exact way anyone looks at NF music videos. He's makin movies.
He is a mental health rapper as well. Him in all black is his struggle with mental health while also trying to remain in his faith. He has technically “lived” a long life, but he has had a life full of TRAUMA. Which many Christians have. And sometimes Christian’s struggle with understanding why this is their life when they have been so faithful. The last part of the song is him struggling with his inner demons. He his hopeful on finding HEALING.
I think you would have understood and enjoyed this more if you had heard his past albums and saw the story he weaves with his songs and his albums. He makes callbacks to his songs "The Search", "WHY", "Let You Down", "OUTCAST", "Mansion", etc....he doesn't just tell a story in his songs, he tells his story through his albums. They all connect
I wish he explained the part he didn't like with the competing " my album part" is because the dark and the light fighting i love that part! Its throughout the video.
You cannot listen to NF without internalizing the lyrics, the music comes to support the lyrics and not the other way around (which happens with many other artists)
@@chrischaudoin3978 honestly, I would start on mansion first, then end around the search just a suggestion, but there are playlist on RUclips for the whole Nf journey

So the part about listening to what you're heart says. This is a few things for me as a Christian. So yes the heat is deceitful. So that's a concern because NF is Christian and I know he knows better than this. But this is also an outreach. So it's a bit of a tact to say this. But the law of God is written in our hearts. We all have a sense of Justice and Love. And to the so many people with a broken heart who listens to NF he is wanting everyone to take a look at the heart as a whole. And I am sure he will do this sometime in this album. But as for listening to our heart as success is very weird and doesn't make sense. Because our heart goes around in circles deceiving itself. So to me its the worst line of the song but also the most tactful line of the song. He is doing 4 things here. 1 he is drawing in the general secular audience because this is their definition on success. 2 he is telling people that the answer is are kinda in our heart. We have the law and sense of Justice and right and wrong. 3 he wants everyone who is broken hearted who's heart says success is when I get better. 4 just making sure we will remember how he mentioned about the heart for this album. This is what I am thinking we all need to pray that NF can stay strong and continue to share this testimonie and Gospel story with the world.
I wouldn’t call that a Beatles thing, it is just building tensing at the beginning to peak interest and make people alert that something emotional is about to come up
Listening to an NF song without paying attention to the words is like being blind and going to a museum of fine art.

I was wondering how having a son would change him. Glad it was a positive change!
Your god didn't do a thing; this is years of working through your own issues.
Your comment is pretty much equivalent to stories of people's houses burning down, but praising a god because the holy book didn't completely go up in flames.
Starting off watching this NF Song for the 1st time is like starting a movie in the middle.
NF is a believer. He’s also honest about the challenges that entails and where his strength comes from.
And that map to hope is probably a metaphor for the Bible as you said, because he is a Christian, and had religious elements in his songs before
The map could represent the search.
Thanks guys! I really enjoyed this 😊
I want to see him react to this again, after learning more about NF and seeing more of his stuff.
“Church is where I found God, but it's also where I learned to judge”
- 10 Feet Down
It’s unfortunate that so many people within the church will judge in an unrighteousness way.
We are in fact called to judge, but only in a righteous way. 👍
The first I heard NF was back in 2013 when he was featured on Flames song "Start Over".
As a huge nf fan this was awesome and the timing in my life finding this is helpful beyond what I can exspress. I've watched more of your videos but I had to come back to this video cus this is where I found you guys and it was the sign i was asking for.
That’s awesome!
Thanks for sharing!
His listening to his heart is not about his moral choices but the direction of his career
NF always has moral choices in his music. Him dropping the album on April 7th is to give Hope. April 7th is Good Friday for a Christian.
Hmmm I never thought of it that way. Good point
I would have loved to hear more of the Senior Pastor's opinions, but he doesn't seem like the most articulate person.
"I like that."
"I don't like that."
"I don't listen to lyrics."
Hmm....
This was our first reaction video that we’ve made. I do think he made some good points. But in the future we will try to do more explaining of why we think a certain way. Thanks for the feedback!
NF is good for the soul, in a world full of crap. Got to appreciate a man finding his way with a very good talent.
I quite literally get goosebumps at the end of this song every single time. Powerful.
Took the NF journey yet?
@@ryanchristian5543 I’m pretty sure I’ve heard almost all of his songs
samee
There was a misconception towards the Start about him saying. "My album my album" what it really was about is, hope and despair arguing about who would be in charge of the new album .
Right, it was tying in the line of "it's time to give the people something different." It's a reference to his content and how he doesn't want to keep making the same music he always has that dwells on his pain and his past.
There's a lot of references in this video that anyone who's never heard if him would not get. When he gets knocked into the mansion, it's a refernce of him being knocked his past, he had a song called mansion with that music as the intro. Hes fighting with himself and the thoughts in his head
Those of us who know this beach have another level of love for this video! 😍
That was great. And I even liked the song. Tons of deep meaning. Really creative.
Now that's one natural reaction video!
I like that you have the emphasis on what you're reacting to :)
And it's always fun to see people with no idea about NF hearing him for the 1st time
Love this entire experience!
Thank you All!
Thank You Lord for ALL the immeasurably vast avenues / artists your reclaiming Your WORD & World!
Amen 🕊️🤝🙏
Definitely need to go through most of NF together and revisit this one! So amazing!
Ooh good idea to come back to this one after taking the journey!
Can't wait to see how he reacts to how could you leave us
so cool u can find both music and video directors, people who relate, lyrical artists, religious people and even therapists reacting and giving their opinions on it.
That’s true! His music relates to so many different groups of people. Even if you don’t like the music, the videos bring lots of discussion too.
Lyrics are the biggest part of Nate's music so it's essential to listen to his lyrics.
That's where everything is shared. I am a musician but lyrics are the most important part without lyrics we wouldn't have masterpieces like stair way to heaven, hey Jude, castles made of sand ... And list goes on
You commented this an hour ago
Just stumbled upon your channel, saw NF in concert it was amazing, his music helps me when I struggle, enjoy your views on it
"The heart is deceitful above all things" is so often misused.
So funny, the first time I heard this song I made the same Beatles reference. Definitely A Day in the Life vibes in the beginning.
Man i love your smile. Thank you for this reaction
SHOW. HIM. OH. LORD.
everytime hearing the song ending i am way too caught in it every time hearing it im way to invested into his music i am always caught off guard with this song no matter how many times i hear this
He has a song called “oh lord”
Need him to react to how could you leave us..
Take him on the nf journey!!!!
One more thing react to NF “oh Lord” from the mansion album
this duo is wholesome
Thanks!
I can't believe that it took a pastor to realize the Beatles intro influence.
He may not catch the lyrics on the first listen, but that pastor knows his music history. (He’s actually a really good bass player!)
31 times he says 30 at the end, he's now 31. He's a genius.
He has so many things woven into his music it’s 1000 thread count sheets. Even seasoned fans missed recalls to his previous songs
Point your fixated friend down the rabbit hole, and we'll watch him become an "Outcast".
im in my 30 and love nf music, but when i heard hope for 1 time .... dam i needed that.
NF is still very much a christian even though he's been becoming more mainstream and has always has contributed Christian attributes into his lyrics and speaks about God many times throughout the years
Love from India brothere's
Awesome reaction. Do some more nf stuffs so that we could enjoy on it. 💗
I hate sin but I built a house and I still live in it… That line from I’ll Keep On hit hard. The whole song but that line stays in my mind
I’m with my guy on the left. I can listen to a track for years before I realize I should check out the lyrics. It’s alll about the music for me.
The guy on the left is very musically knowledgeable too. Maybe in the future he can comment on the music side, I can comment on lyrics.
Lot's of reaction videos out there are of people trying to tell me that they never heard of Eminem or someshit when they clearly have
That ending still gives me chills
Hahahaha the young pastor excited is so funny and cute
Where do I begin 😅... Christian here, and there are a few interesting things I thought to point out:
Great feedback! Neither one of us have made reaction videos before so this was new for us. Your notes are valid and will help us with future videos. Thank you!
@@chrischaudoin3978
Oh, that's interesting; I'd assumed you made some before, but I understand better now. I hope you do great with the future videos and enjoy them as much as you enjoyed this one 🙌🏽
@@joszsz I've watched a ton before, but it's a lot tougher than it looks. And I'd seen this one before. Our next one will probably be a blind reaction. To process, music, visuals, and lyrics in the first take, it's pretty tough.
NF is a Christian. He is not a Christian rapper. He talks extensively about his faith. He is just so real.
Not sure if someone has commented this, but he’s on a coast in oregon
"I don't care if the song is terrible from here on out it's a pretty good film" Actually the exact way anyone looks at NF music videos. He's makin movies.
You have to have him react to OH lord
He is a mental health rapper as well. Him in all black is his struggle with mental health while also trying to remain in his faith. He has technically “lived” a long life, but he has had a life full of TRAUMA. Which many Christians have. And sometimes Christian’s struggle with understanding why this is their life when they have been so faithful. The last part of the song is him struggling with his inner demons. He his hopeful on finding HEALING.
Give him a taste of the deepest pain of NF, react to HOW COULD YOU LEAVE US
It’s coming soon!
@@chrischaudoin3978 ❤❤❤
I think you would have understood and enjoyed this more if you had heard his past albums and saw the story he weaves with his songs and his albums. He makes callbacks to his songs "The Search", "WHY", "Let You Down", "OUTCAST", "Mansion", etc....he doesn't just tell a story in his songs, he tells his story through his albums. They all connect
this is such a wholesome reaction :D
I change my life around I promise that PLZ I'M TELLING THE TRUTH!!!❤❤❤
Y’all should really listen to his song “Oh Lord” it’s fantastic.
I wish he explained the part he didn't like with the competing " my album part" is because the dark and the light fighting i love that part! Its throughout the video.
"HEY" "NATE" "WAIT" Demon voice in the end as he was transitioning into a more hopeful nate
That video was is amazing!!!!
NF is great.
My guy on the right is me trying to get my friends to listen to NF lol
Facts!
Start with "why" his life was difficult. The best begining for NF, in my opinion, is "Why Did You Leave Us".
On the raft looks like the Great lakes maybe...
Then it cuts to what reminds me of the Washington coast. Maybe the Hoh River/Pacific area..
He's 31 fun fact he said " 30 years of " 31 times :)
12:09 he have been around since more than 15years but I only known him for 6 years now
Please react to Happy by NF🤩🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You cannot listen to NF without internalizing the lyrics, the music comes to support the lyrics and not the other way around (which happens with many other artists)
Let the pastor know NF does not make music videos he makes movies and each song is a trailer to his life
Hey guys, you should do a complete run through of the full NF journey
Would be a complete waste of time lol. Left guy is obviously not as invested in lyrics, it would be hours of right guy explaining all the lines.
Do you have a suggested list?
@@chrischaudoin3978 honestly, I would start on mansion first, then end around the search just a suggestion, but there are playlist on RUclips for the whole Nf journey
Haha you cannot just let him hear Hope without all the background knowledge man, let's get the seasoned pastor on the NF journey :)
What’s the best order?
I think he should react to "Why Would You Leave Us", I think it'd be really interesting.
Love it
I commend you, because it’s not an easy task to get someone to understand NF if they haven’t taken the journey themselves. Hope may not have been the best video to start him off with, but I get why you did. I think because he didn’t have too much reaction You felt the need to explain the details he was missing 😂😂😂
