Manga and LN probably definitely. Anime is generally trying to appeal to too wide of an audience (though I don't even keep up with anime anymore so who knows).
Tangent, but I do hate how we have to use "reverse" to signify a reverse of gender roles. Gender roles themselves are an arbitrary idea of how society generalizes people based on sex. I mean, there's a problem when "reverse rape" is a thing. It implies rape as only being down from a man to a woman, which is sexist and alienates people who don't fit into that general picture (there are many cases where men have a problem reporting sexual assault, harassment, or rape of the gender roles/ideas associated with it). Just me saying that ideally we'd be in the world where there's enough diversity in these tropes that we don't have to tag it as "reverse".

2) Everything has "A" plot. Even the most basic porn situation has a plot, story, and characters. It's virtually impossible not to have the three (or setting, or a bunch of elements of creative fiction) because that's kinda just how life itself is. It can exist to different degrees and of different qualities. Still there's a crazy amount of porn media out there (...yeah, sometimes I think humans invented the internet solely for porn). Also, Ngl, some of it blows me away in terms of how well it's handling plot, story, characterization, etc. Part of me wants to argue (or do research) on how creative people are with it. It's somehow fascinating and disgusting how many different situations and just different everything people come up with when something involves sex (and the sheer fact that no matter how weirded out you got, you know there's weirder out there). It at least seems to be the most free artistic medium (or genre... However you categorize that).
3) probably should have put this first, but "adult films" doesn't necessarily mean porn pure porn.

I told my film teacher this but what we consider to be a “love triangle” is actually more like a love V! A love triangle would have to mean that the two same gender characters are bisexual and in love with each other along with the person of the opposite gender. The only show that got close was Destiny of the Shrine Maiden where the two females were a bisexual and a lesbian.

From what I've seen, no, because those anime just use these tensions while rarely ever having anyone end with with anyone else. People rarely ever have sex in them, just sexy imagery is flashed to entice the audience. The protagonists of harem anime are often too oblivious to even know there are those who desire them.

True Beauty, the webtoon comic, has dragged on so long with the “will they or won’t they” that I hope they just won’t. It’s original message is lost completely and it’s just fan service now. I stopped looking at it like a year ago.

@@jenniferl.8111 I think the makeup remover is reaching its end soon and it’s honestly surprised me with the way the narrative is unfolding! It’s not brilliant but it definitely isn’t cliche and is MUCH better than true beauty, I’d really recommend continuing with it if you like it!

I don’t know about anyone else but I won’t read love triangles anymore. I realized pretty quickly after reading romantic comics that I personally can’t like the characters. It just bugs me that one character really doesn’t have a preference. I just personally don’t understand not knowing who you like or at least the type of person you like and prefer. It drives me nuts when a character is just okay with anyone. How bland of a person can you be to like anyone? To not even know who you like?
Anyways that’s how I am anyway. That’s why I really like stories such as “The Villainess loves a commoner!” And other random comics no ones heard of. Because the girl in that one knows exactly who she likes and goes for it. Lovely Complex is also a really great story, an anime. Wish there were more stories where the girl knows who she likes.
Edit: And if a writer absolutely has to have a love triangle they should do it like this, where actually all three characters know who they like. The girl liking one of the guys back or maybe liking neither. And the other guy who doesn’t have his love reciprocated to have basically a one sided love secretly. That adds drama and even a side love story. Where you could choose to make the guy who is with the lead either really a good guy or you could make it that he’s not really in love with her and they eventually break up. And then her true love becomes apparent and she also learns something. Or you could make it that the guy left out eventually meets a girl who loves him and then have a nice side story romance. I just think that’s better personally.
