@@2kyisblu3 she was islamophobic for like one episode. she was actually muslim herself but never told anyone so no lol she definitely deserved better storylines.
The Joey selling his house does make sense in the episode because it shows how you could be doing a mundane task or something normal when things like this happens it was a regular day for everyone until it wasn’t
Can't wait for the video here on how Degrassi let all the black girls down. Liberty's nonsensical pregnancy, Chantay being on the show for a solid decade and not having anything to do, Marisol's... everything
Yes chantay has been on the show for a long time in season 4 all the way to season 11 or something so she was on the show when the early students were still on the show and still in school all the way to the later later students came pretty crazy
And don’t even get me started on Hazel 😭 I can’t remember a single storyline outside her being Muslim(?) or Somali and ashamed of it??? I don’t even remember tbh
I like the “break” episodes that they do in between the heavier stuff…but like let’s just sit back and think about how MISERABLE these students are with everything they go through 😂
Season 3 is probably my favorite season of this show, The drama, the romance, the character plots. Everything was just so Great and entertaining. This episode solidified it for me
I love drama in this show 1000% but I also do love the rare moments where they get away from it for an episode and it's just humorous, innocent and fun. Take On Me and the episode in season 10 where Sav takes his dad's truck to go to the concert are some of my favorites
Saw Degrassi and clicked immediately! I'm loving your videos! I really like the ones that compare different groups! Looking forward to seeing the Mean Girls duke it out.
Justice for Ellie and Sean!! I could never get on the Sean & Emma train, mostly bc Emma's my least favorite character lol, but also Sean and Ellie were more wholesome and understanding of one another. Emma is more privileged so it was hard to enjoy any of her romance plots bc of how little she could empathize with her partners and accept them as they were.
But Ellie has been such a pick me girl, they were fine for the situations they were in at the time but I couldn’t see them being long term. Also Ellie wasting no time getting a crush on Craig “cringe” lol
I will die on the hill that if Sean didn’t leave degrassi after the shooting him and ellie would’ve still been together. I always felt like they are regularly yolked and made each other better!
One of the original plans for Degrassi Goes Hollywood was to include a plot of Jimmy fully walking again. But at that point Drake's music career had already taken off and he probably moved on/would have to be paid more.
I'd argue that it's easy for anyone to watch this episode and not need much backstory on the characters or storylines because it's just a Breakfast Club ripoff. Also, Ellie got Saturday detention on purpose in order to expose the thievery going on at Degrassi for her internship at Caitlin's news program.
Glad someone else loves “Take On Me” as much as i do. Always been my favorite cause its so balanced between drama and comedy and really gives a spotlight to characters who weren’t usually the center of attention. I think it really embodies Degrassi at its best. Time Stands Still will forever be the most memorable & would probably undoubtedly be the best if not for that random Joey house plot. I’d really love a video on your thoughts on Sean/Ellie vs Sean/Emma. I was fan of both, but would love your thoughts
Don’t know if it’s my favorite but an episode I always feel like hits me right in the feels because everyone’s acting was too notch was when everyone found out Spinner and Jay were the ones who lied on Jimmy which got him shot by Rick. That scene in the basketball court and then with Spinner in the car and Jimmy in front of him in the wheelchair, sheeshhhh
Remember: 50 Cent got shot nine times in real life and walked away. Jimmy got shot once by the whitest kid on Degrassi and spent 7 years in a wheel chair.
"Take On Me" is probably the *only* Degrassi episode you could watch WITHOUT seeing the rest of the show and _completely_ understand everything that's happening on screen so I agree, plus the humor in it it was just so light-hearted. It isn't my _favorite_ episode but I do think it's the best overall episode in the series. Personally, either Vegas night or when Claire set off that stink bomb are my favorite episodes.
“this is a great episode that shows the consequences of having unprotected sex… and of having Emma as a best friend” the way i slapped the subscribe button seconds after that line lmaoooo
I love Ellie and the way she opened up to Sean made me like Sean. I was very into their dynamic. And I never cared for Hazel since they did her dirty but her with Jimmy was so cute. And the way Toby was included worked well too.
Anytime the plot leaned toward Ellie I zoned out. And she’s the very first thing you see in this episode, so I usually skip. But overall I see the appeal. As far as Jimmy and Hazel, I’ll never understand how they dated for 2 years and we only ever got to see them in school. They didn’t center them in another episode at all.
This was a solid episode! I don't think I could even pick a favourite. Would be hard enough to pick a favourite from each season. Now I feel like re-watching it. I also think Sean and Ellie were an underrated couple. Even though I prefer Sean with Emma and Ellie with Craig, they had a healthy relationship and were great together.
@@matxalenc8410 True and when he returned in Season 6, he was only interested in Emma. Before the shooting though, I thought Sean and Ellie were a good couple.
They should have called Lola's pregnancy "accidents will happen" because it was really an accident. A few episodes after knockin' boots with Miles, she was talking to her friends about being on birth control pills, but she accidentally took them in the wrong order because Lola was a ditz. Craig and Manny were just irresponsible, so they should have called the episode something like "You Bloody Fools".
I would have to either give it to Time Stands Still or Bitter Sweet Symphony part 1 and 2. Season 12 was the first season I watched and Campbell was one of my favorite characters and the affect his death has on the characters, specially Dallas, is big. That scene in the hallway where Dallas breaks down is one of if not my favorite scenes of the entire show.
My top favorite episodes is when Craig drives without a license, The Breakfast club episode, Time Stands Still and Marco 1st date with Dylan and when Spinner helps him
I’d choose a different episode than this one for the best. Something that really showed what Degrassi was all about - very serious issues some teenagers face. I can’t give you an exact episode, but it would definitely be one that showcased that rather than a spunky Breakfast Club parody.
While the shooting was definitely a massive turning point of the show I feel like JT dying & 07 prom were definitely most memorable of the whole series.
Cam suicide took palce when I was ten years old and watching it I was so upset but not at Cam! But everyone around him for not see he was pain and needed help! I was confused why I wasn’t upset with Cam! My mom said it because what happen was sad and horrible and it No single person fault! I was ten years old and that what my talk to me about! I been upset and sad but never enough to end it all! Because I know it was be worst of the people I love and their will blame themselves! Cam was great character!
Take on Me was the absolute best episode ever - although by the time we're getting into Cam Saunders and Eli and Claire, I kind of consider that to be a whole different show. Take on Me was so great though, and an episode that finally gave Hazel something to do. #JuaticeForHazel. She should have been so much more that Paige or Terry or Ashley's side kick. Oh and also #RaddichRomper FTW.
I’ve always hated this episode lmao! I like the breakfast club. I hateeee breakfast club remake episodes. Guess what my least favorite Victorious episode was😐
Justice for hazel and all of the storylines she was robbed of
She needs justice because she was so pointless on the show 😆
Agreed! Even Andrea Lewis thought so!
nah she was like racist or something problematic I just can't remember what lol
@@2kyisblu3 she was islamophobic for like one episode. she was actually muslim herself but never told anyone so no lol she definitely deserved better storylines.
I hate to hate it but Hazel and Toby were maybe the 2 worst actors on the show. The reason they were limited in development is pretty obvious
I feel like the school shooting storyline really was the turning point for Degrassi. It really made people take the show more serious.
Yeah the shooting storyline was really when Emma's character started to change

Suprised you didnt mention that it’s based off the Breakfast Club, but it is one of the best episodes on the series.
