Yo were 6 when this came out ?!!! I was 6 when I watched the OG Degrassi Street/ Junior High! I love the entire series . It's awesome to see it's reached so many generations! We had bullshit saved by the bell , growin pains , full house etc . , Degrassi actually covered real issues for kids in an honest way . They didn't have a fuckin sitcom laugh track behind it like all of the "very special" episodes! The Different Strokes bicycle shop episode is the best example !

I think I'm the only person who does not like Craig after rewatching this as an adult. It's the womanizing for me. I guess he gets a free pass because he has a likable personality, but that's a bipolar trait (I dated someone like this) and it makes it easy for people to forget or hold them accountable for the bad stuff that they do.

They should have called Lola's pregnancy "accidents will happen" because it was really an accident. A few episodes after knockin' boots with Miles, she was talking to her friends about being on birth control pills, but she accidentally took them in the wrong order because Lola was a ditz. Craig and Manny were just irresponsible, so they should have called the episode something like "You Bloody Fools".

One thing I do like about Tyler Perry movies is that when he tries, the more dramatic and serious scenes really hit. His Madea movies, however, hit so hard with tone whiplash that you think those same characters were dropped into a Wish version of Nutty Professor midway through.

When they slowed down the timeline from 1 season=1 year to 1 season=1 semester, the actors just got older and older so by the time they graduated, some of those actors were in their 20's. Lyle Lettau (who played Tristan) was on the show for 6 years. When Tristan finally graduated, Lyle was 22!

Season 3 was the season I started watching Degrassi and was hooked. In my opinion it’s the strongest season apart from 4.

20:21 Daniel plays a very realistic hot head with Sean’s character, especially when you want to slam and rage. That part also shows that Emma isn’t fazed by Sean’s outbursts because she knows him well and he needs to let out his anger or emotions. Ellie tried to purposefully make Sean express himself which isn’t ideal either. Emma was a pleasant character when Sean was in her life. Semma will always be my favorite OTP of Degrassi 👏👏👏👏

I don't understand your logic. How come Fiona, Imogen and Drew are part of the class they ACTUALLY graduated in after being held back but not Jimmy and Spinner? All the characters that were held back EXCEPT for Imogen had more seasons with the grade above them which they were MEANT to be graduating with so why was the rule different for Jimmy and Spinner? Why were they class of 06 when it was clear as day they graduated class of 07? Inconsistencies like that ruined your reviews for me. It just doesn't make any sense and doesn't have any logic behind it.

its still insane to me that clare literally got cancer and the writers didnt have darcy come back or ever show any sort of worry for her little sister, i understand if the actress didnt want to come back, but they couldve jsut had clare mention that calls with darcy helped her cope with the fear of death, anything like that

I think that Jake Epstein might be the best actor that's been on this show, probably because Craig was an absolute dumpster fire when it came to his relationships and mental health, but had such charisma that you like him anyway.

Some grand points made here! Imo peak Degrassi is S2-4, after that is some ups and downs until we once again reach absolute peak again in S12. Then fall harshly from grace in S13-14. (Next Class Season 3 was really good but those seasons are all too short just in general.)

Holly J is basically Paige but the writers took what they learned and gave new direction. Paige and Holly J were both queen bee archetypes who had conflicts with their close friends. They also both were into Spinner. They both faced a shooter... and Spinner was involved both times. They both had a lesbian person interested in them. They both had quiet crushes on the nerdy boy... Paige with J.T (she said if he was older, she'd go for him.) and Holly J with Toby. They both had a sexual assault storyline (sorta), Paige got raped and Holly J felt pressured to have sex with Declan.
