He destroyed the world, but he didn't destroy Elysium. Persephone's plan would have destroyed both. Technically, Kratos didn't end up destroying his daughter so what does he care beyond that point?
He didn’t do it for the world, he was ready to let the world fall so he could see her again. He only left to stop Persephone and Atlas because if he didn’t Elysium (and by extension his daughter) would be destroyed too. I guarantee if Elysium would’ve been safe he wouldn’t have left. It also happens to be a place he didn’t destroy in GoW 3
Wouldn't Elysium be destroyed along with the underworld? Seemed like all the greek realms collapsed into each other when Zeus was defeated in 3, Engulfing the whole place in chaos. Still, It makes sense that Kratos would feel better about his daughter's soul being completely free rather than belong to the realm of a god. Seemingly peaceful or not.

Chief It's not goofy. It's meant to stir emotional immersion into pushing her away. Seeing it happen in a cutscene makes you feel bad for Kratos but separating a child from their father yourself is meant to make you feel like an asshole who has no choice but to push away the ones you care for most.

The sad part is Kratos got what he wanted most: redemption and being reunited with one of his loved ones. Had he not done anything to save the world, he would've died a redeemed man.

Tbh in mythology hades is a good husband despite taking persephone to the underworld. And she didn’t mind him at all as well. AND she was also free to leave the underworld for a few months to be with her sister then she could go back home then do it all again on a daily basis. I thought Hades married the God of nature? And the whole cycling to and from the earth explains why we have winter and fall, the two seasons she's away from the world
well persephone is the goddess of seasons so you're not wrong and she wasn't so happy living in the underworld so her mother (i think) struck a bargain with hades to have her half of the time
