Do you think you can race Flying Scotsman against Tornado?
Those 2 Steam Locomotives were the Grandparents of the London Northeastern Railway High Speed Siblings
flying Scotsman says i can go 100 miles per hours. loses the great race
flying scotsman is one of the first locomotive that could reach 100 mph, mallard is one of the first locomotive to reach 126 mph
COS THERE WAS AN ELECTRIC TRAIN IN THE SAME RACE WHICH COULD LITERALLY GO TWICE AS FAST AS THAT!
City of Truro is the first to reach one hundred miles per hour
Ivan Nicolas allegedly. There is no proof and crew testimonies state that the city class would not be able to reach that speed.
Flying Scotsman lost in The Great Race, because he was competing against faster and probably younger engines. Besides, just because he hit 100 MPH, doesn't mean he's the fastest engine to ever exist.

My grandfather worked for the national railroads of México, He tell me that if you needed to go faster in a QR-1 class you need to ajust the reverser to 30%-10% and the regulator to 100%

Good video and I'll have you known LNER A4 Pacific's are sexy as hell one of the A4 pulled the Royal train quite a few times and who said A4s weren't Royal engines

Flying Scotsman don't need streamlining to be fast because he is something you can't beat
I wonder how much easier the race would've been if Mallard didn't take that head start at the beginning.
Have a shunting race where you go down the track with a tank engine then have a tender engine ready to back up to the train to pull the collected rolling stock.
If you take off the streamlining cover off the A4 class it is a steam loco, basically Streamlining just makes it more rounded for speed by adding a cover around the boiler

LaZeR JET yeah, all streamlined steam engines are normal engines with streamlined parts, we Americans got that idea from Mallard
You need to put this route up on the workshop! It's amazing!
Tip: decrease the regulator to around 50% to increase speed.

the thing that made Scotsman win is that Scotsman didn't brake at the same as Mallard and kept accelerating but by the looks of things Scotsman has better brakes lol very entertaining!

Obviously this race wasn't very accurate (because these simulators aren't accurate), but it was also very fun. I did not expect you to win either. So, Scotsman: congrats, and thanks Lazer for posting this awesome video (even though I'm almost 2 years late). :D
All dislikes are from Mallard/A4 fans. Sorry guys but what can I say? This simulator lacks accuracy.

Wow! That was amazing! I have a suggestion. How about you do a triple train race? Example: Mallard vs Flying Scotsman vs Tornado
to maximise scotsman's speed pull revereser to 15% I did it in a test run in the academy route and got 152 mph, after pulling it to 5% 160, it sometimes works, but you need patience

Flying Scotsman can go to 100mph but mallard can go 127 mph
And keep on adding stuff to the route
with the steam locomotives you can turn down both the regulator and the reverser and it will go faster
That was the closest race I have ever seen on this channel
Putting the regulator down as well works, It's not really like a car, so 60% throttle at 29 reverser would've gotten you to win
That kind of look like the great race from the railway show.
instead of moving the reversor down try moving the regulator down. I had train simulator 2014 and the steam tutorial said to take down the regulator to go faster.

You said that the Mallard is not so good looking, which is true, but like a nissan gt-r, it's faulty looks are for good reason. it was one of the more aerodynamic trains of it's. time.

@LaZeRJET you should try spawning Diesel in train simulator, you get a BR Class 42 Warship Hydraulic and put a hydraulic claw ontop of of it, and there you have Diesel.

You did not even go whit 100 Mph but Mallard has maximum speed over 125 Mph.
You gotta look out for your boiler pressure. Of course mallard gets away

Do a Union Pacific FEF-3 4-8-4 vs either one of these. Also, the Daylight would've beaten both of those steamers.

If you think the A4 class locomotives don’t look like a steam engine, take a look at the streamlined Hudsons that pulled the New York central limited which looks like something out of this world, it is and American steam engine, which I love them not because I’m American but because how they look in grey and black sometimes silver and how they look

You're pretty good at driving but you would really benefit from watching your steam pressure. That's why you lose sometimes.

Your speaking to a person who know that Mallard is fastest locomotive in the world at 126 mph (203 km/h). The record was achieved on 3 July 1938 on the slight downward grade of Stoke Bank south of Grantham on the East Coast Main Line, and the highest speed was recorded at milepost 90¼, between Little Bytham and Essendine.
