I guess he suggested these two locomotives because there are very similar ones in Australia! There's the South Australian 500 class which is very similar to the Daylight (but it's green), and the Big Boy is similar to the New South Wales Government Railways AD60 4-8-4+4-8-4 garratt!
6:25 that lever on the frar right that goes back and forth is the reverser, and those levers directly next to it are the brakes! All of the knobs and levers do make it look more confusing! But you were driving 4449 quite well!

What you said about daylight is soo funny because wow that is a long time from February to March! (If you are reading this in March or any other time this comment was made in February)
This is just a little tip for locos and trains in general, but when driving, make sure the locomotive brakes are off as well as the train brakes

Can you do a Thomas Race? Perhaps: Thomas, Percy, James, Edward, Donald, Douglas, Henry & Duck?
Any steam locomotive with smaller diameter wheels will take off and accelerate faster than one with larger wheels, thus Big Boy taking the lead. However as you saw, the 4449 was catching up. Had the line been longer, the 4449 would've overtaken Big Boy.

I noticed something awhile ago, British and Japanese trains are usually built to get people from point a to point b as fast as possible, while they make fun of our poor rail transportation speed. As an American, I can agree to that, but our trains are meant to haul around 10,000 tons of freight each go, every day, the American rail system transports millions of tons of cargo. Every. Day. Plus, we don’t really need fast trains because less than .5% of people use trains to get to school, work, or the sports game. We make fun of British and Japanese trains because “they can’t haul s***” and they make fun of us saying “their trains can’t move their fat a****”

I'm American and I actually favor UK Locomotives some, obviously like LNER A4 4-6-2 'Mallard', and the LNER A3 4-6-2 'Flying Scotsman'. Of course I'm a bit bias towards some of the US & Canadian Locomotives, like the FeF-4, the old west style Leviathan (The UPRR/CPRR 4-4-0), UP Big Boy, and even the New York Central Hudson.
So being a fan of driving your own country's locomotives just because you live there is a invalid statement tbf.
If i remember clearly, big boy's top speed is about 68 mph and daylight's top speed is 110mph

You should do a double header drag race or go ahead and raise but could you include the Flying Scotsman and tornado as double headers and the Challenger and the big boy as double headers in the races

The 9F is faster, but won't pull anywhere near the amount of tonnage the Challenger can.

Amtrak In O Scale how?
The 844 has a larger driver diameter and a lot of horsepower, permitting very high speeds. I’m not lying when I say I’ve gotten the 844 to speeds in excess of 130 mph on flat track.
Amtrak In O Scale so obviously it beat Flying Scotsman, but not Mallard??
I'm not sure what you're asking, but the 844 would beat Mallard in a race in-game given the chance. While difficult, it's entirely possible to push the 844 to 140 mph on flat track, though this requires you to manually fire the locomotive. I don't think Mallard is quite able to reach such speeds in game. As for the Big Boy, it will always top out at 80 mph, no matter what.

Britains biggest locomotive and strongest is a u1 but they are scraped, and they are monsters,with twe sets of driving bases like bigboy, that look like tenders either side of the boiler.
