Spent almost 200 hours in a single playthrough of Fargos and I'm sure 99% of it was definitely farming and grinding for that Soul of Eternity. However I will say that although Fargo's did teach me the true meaning of "Eternity", having to collect basically every single item in the game for all the souls and whatnot definitely gives you an appreciation for a lot of the items you wouldn't normally ever go for in a typical Terraria playthrough. I was using weapons/accessories/setups in general that I haven't even considered using before.
There definitely is something about combining every item in the game into one accessory which does everything you could possibly think an accessory could do and more.
I should share a pic of my crafting/storage design, makes the 1st reddit post look practically unorganized (it's still awesome though!): 1) A solid circle of 125 color-coded chests to Quick Stack to by standing in the middle, including Defender's Forge, Piggy Bank, Safe, and Void Vault. Also an enclosed NPC statue to sell stuff just above. Created to harness maximum quickstack distance, but no one needs that much storage unless they are playing several large mods like Calamity. 2) All crafting stations piled in much the same way, only difference is glass bottle instead of Alchemy Station. You don't need to go multiplayer, you just need to know the teleporter trick and use a bit of offset-stacking logic to make sure your previously floating items aren't broken by your newly floated items (each row all at once, starting from the top). His liquid setup may be better though - I just use bubbles, and have my liquid dupe/combo-station nearby (I don't like solid blocks impeding movement in my crafting/storage area). 3) Everything is mob-proof by being far above flat land, but still not too high in the sky to spawn Harpies/Wyverns, in a sealed room with walls, under a zero-spawn lava roof. The walls are actuated with floating Player-Above Sensors, or with hammered platforms adjacent, so I can easily enter and exit from any direction. Previous iterations were closer to the ground, with 1-switch apocalyptic security measures set up for events/invasions, but Mothron gets annoying. A Large World with a low-altitude natural spawn point is best. 4) Teleporter hub which supports 24 locations, all accessible while standing in one spot, made with simple wiring without hoiks/statues/npcs/dummies/actuated blocks (just 4 creatively-stacked teleporters, with two junction boxes - I'm not Joe Price, Zerogravitas or Mappy, ffs). 5) Pylons are great for biome-specific npc items + better prices, but a master hotel is nice too, especially if you figure out how to make rooms above and below you on a single asphault platform, where each NPC will always be limited to only 2 blocks movement, all easily within your reach range, all within a screen (hint: the "corridor" is the bottom half of the top rooms, along the roof of identical designs beneath, bubbles and floating furniture included). 6) My modded Terraria on PC was amazing, with the Magic Storage mod allowing for all crafting stations and storage to be combined into a 2 x 4 block space that could be placed/floated anywhere and accessed from anywhere, and autofarms that would collect and store/sort items in chests, with some limited autocrafting of bars from ores. Wireless Teleporters was a great mod too; you still had to craft the wireless transceivers and beacons etc, but waystations were much easier to set up around the world.
