Weird concussion - I can’t spot the part where / when the concussion happens.. he initially is hit in the shoulder, then the defender wraps his arm around his neck... almost looks like he more pulled his head / neck instead of banging / hitting his head... never seen a concussion like this. Lamars you could easily tell where the concussion happened this not so much.

It's hard to say how long his recovery time will be. It's not a severe TBI (traumatic brain injury AKA concussion) from the looks of the replay. Now that's relatively speaking to the following scenario. QB standing still, linebacker hits QB at full speed and QB's head whiplashes to slam into the ground. With that being said, it would be veryyy risky to put Mahomes in next game, or even Super Bowl game. Concussion protocol in, for example, college is much longer than just 1 week. Hopefully the medical staff make the proper call to not allow him to play and get injured again, and again, and again just for him to retire before he hits 30 and is forced to retire like Andrew Luck.
Wilson put the stranglehold on Mahomes. Nothing looked very serious, hit wise. His helmet didn't really take a hard shot so idk how it could have been a concussion.

Head injuries are weird, sometimes the most violent looking hits will not hurt at all but a hit that doesn’t look too bad on film will end up nearly knocking you out from the force/ falling awkwardly. Weird concussion - I can’t spot the part where / when the concussion happens.. he initially is hit in the shoulder, then the defender wraps his arm around his neck... almost looks like he more pulled his head / neck instead of banging / hitting his head... never seen a concussion like this. Lamars you could easily tell where the concussion happened this not so much.

It's hard to say how long his recovery time will be. It's not a severe TBI (traumatic brain injury AKA concussion) from the looks of the replay. Now that's relatively speaking to the following scenario. QB standing still, linebacker hits QB at full speed and QB's head whiplashes to slam into the ground.
With that being said, it would be veryyy risky to put Mahomes in next game, or even Super Bowl game. Concussion protocol in, for example, college is much longer than just 1 week.
Hopefully the medical staff make the proper call to not allow him to play and get injured again, and again, and again just for him to retire before he hits 30 and is forced to retire like Andrew Luck.

@@joetroutt7425 Nah that was definitely a head injury, if it was a chokehold it wasn’t on long enough to cause loss of consciousness. Head injuries are weird, sometimes the most violent looking hits will not hurt at all but a hit that doesn’t look too bad on film will end up nearly knocking you out from the force/ falling awkwardly. Looks like what happened here.
