I am still with this company until today and probably the only Malay in this company. My point here is English is an important language beside your native language. You will only be labeled as 'jaguh kampung' even of your are a director in some GLC/GLIC/government depts. To prove this, I have two daughters studying in the US. First one is completing her double master degree in MBA and MSc (Data Analytics). 2nd daughter is still in 1st year studying Actuarial Science. Well, since you're residing abroad, I believe you'd understand me better than many locals. I just can't wrap around my head why many Malays are against English speakers who are comfortable expressing themselves in English. They accused them of being snooty for doing that. And yet, from what I have been watching via social media, many Malays sprinkling lots of English words in their daily conversation, now more than ever, why is that? If they're so proud of bahasa melayu, why in the world don't they speak malay 100%? And also I realised, some pure Malays with English names! While there are many beautiful malay names out there😊 But I'm glad I've had some interesting conversations with some open minded Malays in English via social media.

Since Malaysia wants to be international player, it is better for Malaysians to be proficient in English. Otherwise they will turn shy and walk away from other people who have good spoken English. So how Malaysians want to communicate with the world and do business?
The government must have political will and start now by introducing more English subjects. With students and teachers being exposed with more English, little by little they will master English, Insya-Allah.

Kak mariam, Idea songsang ni dah wujud sejak 1970an oleh manusia yang meletakkan agenda bahasa sejak zaman dia berdemo kat UM dulu. masuk tahun 1990 dia pi intro bahasa baku pulak. tapi dia kan piem in waiting. Kita marah pemimpin hari ni buat benda karut. Tapi sebahagian rakyat nak ganti pemimpin dengan orang yg asalnya buat idea songsang ni dulu. Apa perubahan yang rakyat nak sebenarnya?

5:05 haha.. Mmg best yg ni.. 👍👍
Nak buat apa² anjakan, jgn harapkan ahli politaik buat utk kita. Kita sendiri cari jalan dan tentukan. Xboleh harap sistem dan orang lain tolong kita "sepenuhnya". Kita kena cari guru, specific trainers dan murabbi sendiri. Kena cari dan tanya. Xmungkin derang datang melayang² mencari kita. 🤣🤣🤣
Nak kumpul duit wajib gi haji 10k pun, terasa mcm nak mati dah. Kita tgk ja artis² dan celebrity kita melancong.. Easy money.. Xnak mention nama.. Berlambak di youtube.. Mentalitinya sama ja.. Apalagi dgn menteri² kita. Ada duit berjuta², tapi xnak bayar utk amik English Trainer. 1k sebulan pun, xnak bayar. Tgk KJ pun, dah lama English dia xmcm dok UK dulu dah. Reduction to Manglish dah slps 20 tahun balik Mesia.
Lagipun rakyat kita, berapa % keluar negara utk belajar? Apalagi yg mampu kuasai accent. Balik UK US Aus NZ pun, 90% accent masih Manglish. Bukan senang nak pecah barrier accent ni. Ada yg pandai, kata accent x penting. Xpenting sbb tu dia xbelajar. 🤣🤣🤣
Teringat dgn sekolah menengah dulu², high school saya. Sekolah dlm bandar, 1000 pelajar lebih. Rasanya yg mampu cakap fasih Manglish dlm 10 orang. Itupun mungkin termasuk cikgu. Kalo nko beraccent, dah tentu jadi kapir dan bakal dibunuh 😆😆😆
Skrg ni mungkin media social meletup, anak² saya dah mendunia.

I agree it should be Bahasa Malaysia as it involves all Malaysians and if it’s Bahasa melayu it only involves Malays, this show how unfair it can be and discrimination against others races. Malaysian belong in Malaysia and BM belong to all races. If politicians are going to start saying and doing things to say that Malaysia belong to malays then Malaysian will be doom for good because without other races in Malaysia, Malaysia is a nothing. Malaysia is only a wonderful country when it belong to all races.

Malaysia is moving backwards instead of moving ahead in terms of development n foreign investment. We r losing out to Vietnam or other smaller countries, don't ever mention the others. May be our government is fighting for the 1st place in the queue by counting from the last....
