Davids son Duncan Jones said on X/Twitter; “What i loved about the Parkinson’s interview is that on any other interview, i could see the mask. A performance disguising the person underneath. This was pure dad. Utterly him.”

Bowie's son, Duncan, has said this is the interview in which he's at his most natural, possibly due to Parky's Yorkshire accent.

David Bowie was unique..there will never be a performer like him. And for a very long time, he seemed to defy age..but even he couldn’t fight cancer..an amazing man that the World needed a lot longer than 67-8 odd years..

I have to say having seen some of the very biggest music acts from 1980 until 2010...David Bowie was head and shoulders above everyone else for his professionalism as a musician....along with the musicians he used, he defined 'a class act'. A truly unique and extraordinary man.

This interview is amazing. I always assumed Bowie was shy, bored by interviews and a bit po-faced as he seemed to be earlier in his career but here he really lets his guard down and is obviously enjoying himself. Parkinson was extremely good at relaxing his guests and getting some great anecdotes out of them and this is a great example. Maybe it's the fact he wasn't in awe of Bowie but just treated him as a regular guy with some interesting stories to tell and the fact that he was sharing the stage with a star like Hanks meant Bowie didn't need to feel on edge because of it.

Saw Bowie in Nashville in 1977. I had binoculars and not far from the stage. He smoked around half of a big joint rolled with strawberry papers. His eyes got very red and he had a big smile. It was a good concert. He had fun.

I never did good things,I never did bad things…..this lyric…this lament….just fucking resonates in a way that can’t be expressed when you hear it,and can’t be explained to anyone that doesn’t understand it.Gotta love someone that puts it out there with no fear………

I love how the most replayed moment is when Bowie goes off to play a song, but we don't see it, and he just comes back to the couch LOL!!!

David always classy & stylish in any decade! So handsome.....I lived my life over & over to Hereos" my anthem.
There was something on the telly here called David Bowie : Live By Request" I'll never forget this little 3 yr old child from America,Dad puts him on a chair he asks: hi David Bowie! Super shy like kids do,can you play Ashes
To Ashes for me?? Such a sweet kid.... David smiling ear to ear id love to do that....then attempts to continue the call, asking the young boys name over/ over then breaks out into giggles!!! Brought the house down!
This man had so many hits over / over....
    Married life agreed w him,
    Sobriety agrees w him,too...plus he's a highly intelligent man,that's obvious!!
    I miss David very much.
I' was so glad he found true happiness at last,he's made plenty of really good points here.
    Very honest man,here
Again,he was another stylish/ & musician/ lyrical/ GENUIS WAY WAY AHEAD OF HIS TIME
Should've expressed myself sooner rather than later.
But I wanted for once think
    Before commenting ....
    Sad to even see him
