The love story of Iman and Bowie is one of the greatest love stories of all time. They loved each other as much after 20 years of marriage, as they did at the start. Even now, Iman grieves and calls Bowie her forever husband, saying that she will never marry again. True love is such a beautiful thing, and I'm so damn happy they got to experience it, as tragic as it is when death separated them, the love itself will never die.

David Bowie had a lot of spiritual interests and pursuits but the last time I recall him commenting on it he stated that he was agnostic.
+A Bc Doesn't really matter to me. (I'm Muslim by the way). I just read something years ago where Iman referred to herself as a Muslim married to a Christian. Whether he was agnostic or not, the fact that he was a nice, polite human being stands supreme.
As a long time David Bowie enthusiast, I would just call him "irreligious".
He was a Satanist in his early 20s (esoteric occult spirituality), then he got into Buddhism, and he espoused Atheistic sentiments in the late 70s.
By the time he met Iman I don't think he cared about religion, and Iman is a heterodox Muslim.
Their relationship had nothing to do with religion. Iman believes in God and Bowie didn't care about the subject.

They were married for over 20 years and even now, if you watch videos of Iman and how she talks about him, you can tell that this was true love, the kind you only experience once in your life. It's so unfair he had to leave so soon. These two truly deserved to grow old together.

They remind me so much of my parents. My dad was from England, they were married 35 years, and he died from cancer at age 59. They were soulmates. My mom never even dated after he died. She told me once that she would never want to share a bed again, she would rather have it empty than have someone else in it.
I adore David, and I love Iman for keeping him so happy all those years. Most true Bowie fans feel the same way. She still posts about him on her Facebook, she keeps his memory alive. He is forever her husband and that is so beautiful.

I have so much sympathy for Iman. She lost her soul mate but she lost her best pal at the same time. Behind every great man is a great woman and vice versa. They were a fantastic couple. I'm so pleased that they found each other. They exemplified love.
Even now, 5 years after his death, she posts about him on his birthday, their anniversary, sometimes just randomly. She still wears the necklace with his name. She will love him forever. They are truly soulmates.

One thing for sure he was charismatic and for real, with his heart in the right place for his children, and that gorgeous woman by his side. Not seen many show biz stars who have matched that commitment to build value into their private life, and family unit.

She's fun, smart, beautiful, respectful of herself and others, regal yet down to earth... she is the woman, truly beautiful both inside and out, that he'd only hoped existed. When he wrote "Be My Wife"... he hadn't met her yet, but she's who he was hoping for. So when he found her, he cherished her. It was easy for him to give up whatever drugs or people that weren't good for him. He'd been there, done that. So had she. They leveled up together.

In 1972 or '73, a NYC deejay announced that fans could see Bowie off at the pier just before sailing back to England on the Queen Elizabeth II. A few of us went and were shocked that hardly anyone else was there. I was amazed that we were able to stand around with him and talk, and even more amazed that he was warm, friendly, genuine, and humble. Still can't believe it really happened.

What a sweet proposal, that he would remember a ring from two years earlier and bought it off the person. Haha, what some guys won't do for love. They must've had something pretty special to hear a man say that they are blissfully happy, and it's a fabulous marriage. Rarely do you hear that amongst us every day people, let alone a celebrity couple. They didn't just love each other they were really in love with each other. Looks to be where it began it ended, and they were still so much in love. Lucky they were that the stars aligned, and they found their perfect match at the right time. Sounds like the time they had together was just as sweet as his proposal. He proposed on the River Seine, and was blessed with a River of Love that flowed on their special union. Some just find that special something, we should all be so lucky to find that kind of real and lasting love until death do us part as they did. Dang- he was quite the family man. To say, if he had to choose between career and what he and Iman shared there'd be no choice- just melts my heart. I fell in love with David in 1973 watching Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars at the age of 8. He's always done it for me in a kind of profound way.
So I think I'm saying, I'm just super happy and moved by the love he found and shared, with Iman.
While I was never a big fan I have watched documentaries on David Bowie and I have the greatest respect for him as a person and a musician. This is so sweet to see. He is sorely missed.
