The love story of Iman and Bowie is one of the greatest love stories of all time. They loved each other as much after 20 years of marriage, as they did at the start. Even now, Iman grieves and calls Bowie her forever husband, saying that she will never marry again. True love is such a beautiful thing, and I'm so damn happy they got to experience it, as tragic as it is when death separated them, the love itself will never die.
So sweet, you put it beautifully. I heard that Iman said she thinks of David every minute of every day. Isn't it wonderful that she has Lexi, and that her father got to enjoy her for, I think sixteen years?
Have you ever seen the tour she does of their house? It’s beautiful. She said she moved back to the house to be protected from Covid, but did not want to stay because it was too sad without him. But she then said “But then I felt him. He’s here. He’s here with me everyday, and that’s when I realized he’s still so much a part of this house and so much a part of my life, that this is where we are together, so his things are still here, because this is still his home too, and when I go, then we will leave this house together” She has his clothes still hung in the closet, his music notes still on the piano. All of it. You are beyond blessed in this life to receive even a portion of that kind of love. And that is an eternal love.
They were married for over 20 years and even now, if you watch videos of Iman and how she talks about him, you can tell that this was true love, the kind you only experience once in your life. It's so unfair he had to leave so soon. These two truly deserved to grow old together.
It’s truly unfair. She still calls him her only husband and wears a gold necklace with his name. They remind me so much of my parents. My dad was from England, they were married 35 years, and he died from cancer at age 59. They were soulmates. My mom never even dated after he died. She told me once that she would never want to share a bed again, she would rather have it empty than have someone else in it. I adore David, and I love Iman for keeping him so happy all those years. Most true Bowie fans feel the same way. She still posts about him on her Facebook, she keeps his memory alive. He is forever her husband and that is so beautiful.
+Babyhowdy233 Good think that she married the man who found her sexy and appealing. Had she married any other man who found her intolerably cold, calculating, boring, and a complete snob, her marriage wouldn’t have lasted 20 plus years until death took him away. You can always get married to either Angie or Coco Schwab, who i presume, IYHO are neither phonies or cold as a fridge. It seems that David Bowie made his choice, you can make yours as well.
Actually most muscians have a hard time letting their label let them put out that much music. When you’re music belongs to your label you have no control of when you want it to go out
+Heather Westhaver Unfortunately that's not true... Met her before she was married to him. She was a very down to earth, stunningly beautiful lady, in personality, class, and truly breathtaking on the outside. Tears later, met her cousin, who lived in the same town I did, and the familial kindness was still apparent.
I have so much sympathy for Iman. She lost her soul mate but she lost her best pal at the same time. Behind every great man is a great woman and vice versa. They were a fantastic couple. I'm so pleased that they found each other. They exemplified love.
Even now, 5 years after his death, she posts about him on his birthday, their anniversary, sometimes just randomly. She still wears the necklace with his name. She will love him forever. They are truly soulmates.
David Bowie is music goals, father goals, husband goals, life goals. A man I respect in every aspect of his life. He basically gave up music for his family, he was a single father for years to Duncan and prioritised bringing two rounded and successful human beings into the world. Says a lot.
Let's add beautiful and hilarious. I love his speaking voice. I know it's wrong to say, but I'm going to say it "Moonage Daydream" is the worst movie I have ever seen. I was with two people that knew nothing of David Bowie, so it was a million times worse. They were stupid enough to includes snippets of his films with no context. The viewers that don't know they are roles he played, think it's him! Just abominable.
He certainly did. He loved her with all his heart. It just shines from them both..i loved them as a couple. They complemented each other perfectly. Its so obvious they respected and loved one another.
Bowie was one of the coolest, weirdest and seemingly ageless creatures in the history of popular culture. One thing for sure he was charismatic and for real, with his heart in the right place for his children, and that gorgeous woman by his side. Not seen many show biz stars who have matched that commitment to build value into their private life, and family unit.
Yes, and she naturally inspired and motivated him to keep that commitment. He adored her. She's fun, smart, beautiful, respectful of herself and others, regal yet down to earth... she is the woman, truly beautiful both inside and out, that he'd only hoped existed. When he wrote "Be My Wife"... he hadn't met her yet, but she's who he was hoping for. So when he found her, he cherished her. It was easy for him to give up whatever drugs or people that weren't good for him. He'd been there, done that. So had she. They leveled up together. They were a beautiful and happy couple. They've shared I think 23 or 24 yrs. of marriage. Now that's true love. My heart goes out to his family.I feel so sorry for them. I know they miss him tons!!!!
Iagree with you. That too was my dad with my mom. She left this world first and he was never quite the same. Now he has gone to be with her. They are in love with each other forever.
He changed his work schedule for Her. True love between those two. David & Iman were Heroes for our time. I'm glad they had heaven on Earth. Glad they were there for their kids. Had no idea he was so romantic. His legend keeps growing! Thanks David Bowie for being so different at a time and place where mediocre was everywhere. Even my mom loved David! RIP to them both! Deepest condolences to his family and soulmate.
The line about "seeing you in the sky" I'm afraid I can personally attest to that experience. An actual rather pleasant hallucinatory phenomenon born from the depths of the strongest kinds of conecction, adoration, and love. You do see them in the sky
+GeorgiaIsOnMyMind David Bowie had a lot of spiritual interests and pursuits but the last time I recall him commenting on it he stated that he was agnostic.
+A Bc Doesn't really matter to me. (I'm Muslim by the way). I just read something years ago where Iman referred to herself as a Muslim married to a Christian. Whether he was agnostic or not, the fact that he was a nice, polite human being stands supreme.
As a long time David Bowie enthusiast, I would just call him "irreligious". He was a Satanist in his early 20s (esoteric occult spirituality), then he got into Buddhism, and he espoused Atheistic sentiments in the late 70s. By the time he met Iman I don't think he cared about religion, and Iman is a heterodox Muslim. Their relationship had nothing to do with religion. Iman believes in God and Bowie didn't care about the subject.
+GeorgiaIsOnMyMind he was a Christian an agnostic does not baptize his children. Stars do no wear their beliefs on their sleeve. It is VERY clear that on his last album he writes a song about "Lazarus" that doesnt come from an agnostic point of view.
+mickavellian you make some bold claims...Iman would have a say in what happened to their child, and being agnostic does not rule out baptism. Lazarus does indeed have his story told in the bible, but represents life after death and can be mentioned as an allegory. You cannot possibly judge what Bowie had in mind, or make definitive judgements about anyone else's beliefs. (Still chuckling that you think atheists can't be creative, have you considered stand up comedy as a career?)
It's beautiful to see a couple encourage each other to grow and change for the better. It's so heartwarming to hear he was willing to ditch the drugs and partying not only for her happiness but for his own health, which honestly should be intertwined.
Such a sweet unforgetable interview with David Bowie. I love when he smiles & speaks of his undying Love of His beautiful wife & his family. I teared up listening to his heartfelt words & watching the light of their Love. ❤
Yeah you know they really love you when they pay attention like that really listen care about what pleases you. Fashion lovers are often detail oriented anyway he is not going to propose to a top supermodel without the perfect accessory.
Iman and Bowie were always laughing in their pics. Obviously a fun and loving marriage. I have been a fan since Starman, and I can't tell you how much I miss his wonderful presence on this planet. I will never be able to imagine how Iman feels. :(
they were an incredible couple, i have so much respect for iman and david being a genuine loving couple while being on top of the world and always putting their kids above everything
It is such a joy to see two people loving and appreciating one another, seeing someone be cared for so deeply. Sorry for those grieving the transition.
i truly loved David Bowie, he was such a great inspiration for anyone who wants to follow your dreams…he remains for the most amazing and talented artist. You will forever stay in our heart and mind RIP David.
rest in peace David.. ARGHHHH I just can't believe he's gone. I don't want to believe it, it's hard. I feel like he's still here, but then I realize he's not.. It's so depressing
+Ian Leo I feel exactly the same.. and Ill refuse to believe it for along time to come. I always dreamt of meeting him. His body is gone.. but I do believe he left his soul with us.. without doubt. x
+GOLDEN OX - Ha! I've just decided 10 days out from the news, not to accept that he's passed away. And that is that. Don't try to talk me out of it. I love Iman. I love their marriage. I feel deeply for his children. Notthat he's dead, mind you. I decline to accept that.
I understand a love like this. I dropped all drugs for my first love, I feel like that love saved me from addiction. I am so glad he also knew what that happiness felt like. Bless Iman, I hope she is living a happy life, I’m sure she still misses him all the time.
Dang- he was quite the family man. To say, if he had to choose between career and what he and Iman shared there'd be no choice- just melts my heart. I fell in love with David in 1973 watching Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars at the age of 8. He's always done it for me in a kind of profound way. So I think I'm saying, I'm just super happy and moved by the love he found and shared, with Iman.
In 1972 or '73, a NYC deejay announced that fans could see Bowie off at the pier just before sailing back to England on the Queen Elizabeth II. A few of us went and were shocked that hardly anyone else was there. I was amazed that we were able to stand around with him and talk, and even more amazed that he was warm, friendly, genuine, and humble. Still can't believe it really happened.
For this small town white boy, Bowie was the go-to hero for me and my friends. As much as I appreciate his art and music, I am so glad that he found and kept the love of his life.
Rising Sun then you’d be delighted to know that my husband and I are a happily married interracial couple. 🥰 We actually just finished making love, I can’t wait to start a family with him. For now we just have our two kitties, Sherwin and Luna.
Iman, please accept my condolences. David was so talented and the depth of love the two of you had is so evident. I'm so sorry for your and your families loss.
Even after all the years He's been gone, I get a lump in my throat watching this. Being just a few years younger, I have loved David's music thru all the years. He is In our Hearts Forever
This is what love looks like, they don't even look like a "couple" but they were the real deal. I think it's easier to walk the great wall of china in a day than to watch this without crying. xx
What the hell do you mean they don’t look like a “couple”??? The way they look at each other a couple is precisely what they look like. I don’t want to assume what you meant but I can guess and if so it’s beyond ignorant.
I remember he questioned MTV for their lack of diversity. Therefore, I am not surprised that he had such a lovely marriage with the GORGEOUS Iman. He’s obviously such a stand up guy!
I remember that too and it really drew attention to the issue. Some of the record labels had to threaten to pull their videos if they didn’t play more black videos.
I wouldn't expect anything less from David Bowie, truly an inspiration. A beautifully grounded couple who prioritised their love for one another and their family. ♥
While I was never a big fan I have watched documentaries on David Bowie and I have the greatest respect for him as a person and a musician. This is so sweet to see. He is sorely missed.
He was a genius but also a great man, a conscient heart. He knew he was a genius but he knew that love is the most important part of live. He was really lucky to found Iman, as so was she
Love... True and unconditional love. You don't see it anymore, it's rare. My heart breaks for Iman, but I pray that her memories of him help keep her lifted. God Bless her and the family.
please please PLLLEEAAASSSE GOD bless me with a love like this (with my qualifications in a man of course) .... I weep for Iman, her teenage daughter and the rest of the Bowie family.
Iman is actually doing good stuff with bowies legacy, and that's kinda impresssing considering how most music widows just care about the money... Also i kinda find nice that david got a beautiful black woman as a wife comsidering how much he did for the black people
@Cheryle Hunter One example doesn't a crusader make, but one example that comes to mind is that in 1983, 2 years after its launch, he questioned an MTV VJ on air as to why they didn't play more music from black artists. ruclips.net/video/XZGiVzIr8Qg/видео.html

@Rising Sun its a figure of speech. Maybe if you stick around in school you would've learned a thing or two
@Rising Sun you're a weirdo
@Rising Sun lol
@Rising Sun what's your point here ........?
Other than my father, never known a man to adore his wife so much.
Patricia Hill this is the most wholesome comment I’ve ever seen, big props to your father for finding his forever partner! 😁
David Bowie had a huge capacity for love and friendliness. If only more people could be like him.
Iagree with you. That too was my dad with my mom. She left this world first and he was never quite the same. Now he has gone to be with her. They are in love with each other forever.
@@or529 bless them. they shall rest in infinite love and peace together. ❤️
@@katey-2549 🙏 ⚘Thank you so much. God Bless You, God Be With You. ⚘🙏
A true model & a true musician. In this insane world, how lucky they were to have found such a love
I wish that I will one day have such as beautiful a relationship as these two did. R.I.P. David x
"Intolerably sexy"...what a great thing to say.
RIGHT?!
she was Muslim, he was Christian.
Love knows no bounds.
+GeorgiaIsOnMyMind
David Bowie had a lot of spiritual interests and pursuits but the last time I recall him commenting on it he stated that he was agnostic.
Last of a dying breed of genuine and focused men
Lovely
That is so Romantic He found the ring an went back an brought from the person, an asked her to Marry him. That is sweet.
They were an absolutely gorgeous couple.
This brings tears to my eyes. How lucky they were to find each other in this lifetime! R.I.P David!
Both beautiful spirited people
Rising Sun shut the fuck up. Why are you even here?
She lost the love of her life, David RIP you were a true light in this life
I've been in love with their couple since they met, they thought my generation what love is about. Two legends in our hearts forever.
It is such a joy to see two people loving and appreciating one another, seeing someone be cared for so deeply. Sorry for those grieving the transition.
He turned out to be such a gentleman, I like that....
i truly loved David Bowie, he was such a great inspiration for anyone who wants to follow your dreams…he remains for the most amazing and talented artist. You will forever stay in our heart and mind RIP David.
rest in peace David.. ARGHHHH I just can't believe he's gone. I don't want to believe it, it's hard. I feel like he's still here, but then I realize he's not.. It's so depressing
+Ian Leo Yeah, I feel the same way. Icon for so long and no longer here.
he may have passed but will never die
+Ian Leo I feel exactly the same.. and Ill refuse to believe it for along time to come. I always dreamt of meeting him. His body is gone.. but I do believe he left his soul with us.. without doubt. x
+GOLDEN OX - Ha! I've just decided 10 days out from the news, not to accept that he's passed away. And that is that. Don't try to talk me out of it. I love Iman. I love their marriage. I feel deeply for his children. Notthat he's dead, mind you. I decline to accept that.
+Dusty Rhodes I'm right there with you!!!!
My most favorite celeb couple. They are both stunning, and the way they loved each other. So romantic! They couldn't be more beautiful.
What I'd give to have what the two of them had.

Money?
Same. I can't even get a guy to pay for a coffee for me
They had that and money!!👌🏿
@@akitanochero That's what you women got in exchange for demanding equal rights. Now you can pay us men a coffee... ;)
IKR!!!!
OH MY GAAAWWWDDDD. AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!
+Linda Sangerman I know, right??
lisadiane55 lucky you
They probably didn't believe it was true so they didn't show up which was better for you.
WOW !!
RIP David Bowie. You’re a legend. Your music will love on for ages.
For this small town white boy, Bowie was the go-to hero for me and my friends. As much as I appreciate his art and music, I am so glad that he found and kept the love of his life.
The most beautiful couple ever!
They made such a gorgeous couple. Exotic, interesting and beautiful.
@Rising Sun I didn't try justify anything, I just think they were a beautiful couple.
I don't know what is your problem with that? 🤷♀️
@Rising Sun Booooriiing! 🙄🙄🙄🙄
@Rising Sun Yes, who cares about racist bulls... 😜
@Rising Sun lol, did you really just come here to say that? Get a life, interracial love is beautiful
He is
In our Hearts Forever
CAN YOU IMAGINE BEING THEIR CHILDDDDDD? That is a legacy that would be IMPOSSIBLE to honour
This is what love looks like, they don't even look like a "couple" but they were the real deal. I think it's easier to walk the great wall of china in a day than to watch this without crying. xx
What the hell do you mean they don’t look like a “couple”??? The way they look at each other a couple is precisely what they look like. I don’t want to assume what you meant but I can guess and if so it’s beyond ignorant.
racist
Definitely agree, they looked like friends and that's beautiful, not every marriage can be seen like that
Beautiful. That's true love folks. And true love never dies. God bless David Bowie and his loved ones.
I. AM. IN. TEARS!!!!! BEAUTIFUL COUPLE! BEAUTIFUL RELATIONSHIP! IMAN AND THE REST OF THE FAMILY ARE CERTAINLY IN MY PRAYERS!

The more I find out about David Bowie, the more respect and admiration I have for him...
I remember he questioned MTV for their lack of diversity. Therefore, I am not surprised that he had such a lovely marriage with the GORGEOUS Iman. He’s obviously such a stand up guy!
I remember that too and it really drew attention to the issue. Some of the record labels had to threaten to pull their videos if they didn’t play more black videos.
i love LOVE...what an incredible couple...they've always been my prototype/inspiration couple...sigh....RIP *TEARS*
+Vonnie Stewart I feel the same way.
Yess, they will always be the most perfect couple EVER, god bless them😢❤️
Yuck you swirl.
Brown and Black only. No whites.
@@fightermma ur fucking stupid lol.
What a sweet, great man he was. And Iman is absolutely lovely. Truly inspiring couple.
I wouldn't expect anything less from David Bowie, truly an inspiration. A beautifully grounded couple who
prioritised their love for one another and their family. ♥
While I was never a big fan I have watched documentaries on David Bowie and I have the greatest respect for him as a person and a musician. This is so sweet to see. He is sorely missed.
Oh he is just my favorite musician of all time and so glad he had a happy marriage. She is just lovely.
Hello Kim how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
He was a genius but also a great man, a conscient heart. He knew he was a genius but he knew that love is the most important part of live. He was really lucky to found Iman, as so was she
GREAT couple , R . I . P David.
she has a muslim name but she is Atheist. and i love her. : )
LOL. They both are Atheists.
You should stop lying
okay, she is always about god, not Allah right?
she is not muslim. try to get used to that okay?
you seem to be very naive girl by the way.
+Jasmine Farah don't argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.
Decent couple to look up too. God bless David's soul & family. R.I.P.
Obsessed with these two, they’re unbelievably perfect for each-other
the love that they had is one in a million, and it will always be something we will all long for.
the sweetest thing ive seen.. true love
Love... True and unconditional love. You don't see it anymore, it's rare. My heart breaks for Iman, but I pray that her memories of him help keep her lifted. God Bless her and the family.
They did make a very handsome couple....and seemed genuinely in love and faithfull to eachother in the mad world that is Show Business.....
Look at how his wife’s eyes and her gestures when they are standing together. That’s what a happy man and women looks like.
I'm crying 😭 They were so lovely even until the end.
I love the look on his face when he looks at her, TRUE LOVE! What a wonderful couple, David is missed, RIP Starman! RIP...:(...we all love you.
Love has no bounds, love has no pride...Love can give and receive love. This is one of the many stories about love.
please please PLLLEEAAASSSE GOD bless me with a love like this (with my qualifications in a man of course) .... I weep for Iman, her teenage daughter and the rest of the Bowie family.
His face used to light up when he talked about her....so sweet. May he rest in peace.
Iman is actually doing good stuff with bowies legacy, and that's kinda impresssing considering how most music widows just care about the money... Also i kinda find nice that david got a beautiful black woman as a wife comsidering how much he did for the black people
David chose the right woman to take care of his legacy.
@Cheryle Hunter im guessing charity work and maybe fundraisers, not totally sure
@Cheryle Hunter Very true. This and Bowie's inquiry can (and should) logically coexist.
Nice that he married one, but a little presumptuous to say all he did for black people. He just loved her and that was pretty much that
He knows what he has and so does she.
"i will love you till i die, i will see you in the sky to the man who fell to earth. forever bowie" Oml 😔😫 thats so sweet!!
An amazing, classy, humble, real relationship.
One of the world's most beautiful couples and greatest love stories.
There relationship makes my heart smile and cry happy tears.❤
