Bass fight but nothing like a snook..
Problem with snook is they only live in FL and extreme south TX... bass are everywhere in the US thus way more popular. I used to tournament bass fish but would rather do inshore salt - way more entertaining due to variety, size and strength of fish, no contest.
Adiarby13 John has a good point. Bass are literally all over the country, so bass RUclipsrs will attract more interest than a only Florida thing. Bass fishing has nothing on inshore salt fishing 🤷🏻♂️. Once you start Snook fishing you’ll never go back to Bass.

Costa Rica, Cuba and Belize have great inshore fishing too. I’ve been to Mexico and Belize, we saw some big barracuda down there. Wasn’t fishing however just doing the tourist stuff - Mayan ruins, ATVs in the jungle.

Oh man, I really dig your channel . I’ve been enamored over those Snook for a few years now as I’ve been catching them in my home waters. In a part of Texas that most would consider these as Unicorns. Each year they show up, the size of fish have been getting bigger. The Summer Bite is almost non-existent. Spring/Fall Bite is where it’s at. I started catching Fat Snook a few years ago and it has evolved into some commons. These are very special fish and I’m in hog heaven!

Lawson those DOA airheads are one of the most underrated super versatile lures on the market. I catch huge specks and reds on them all the time. You have to watch Mark Nichols video on all the different ways he designed it to be fished!!!😜🤙🏽

If you cut the tail to make a diagonal flap it gives the lure a ton more action, the tail doesn't do much on the retrieve if you aren't constantly jerking it. With the tail cut it will have good action even on a straight retrieve.

I never even thought about there being different species of snook
We all know well that fish will often completely ignore something that we think they should bite and will bite like crazy on something we never would have imagined they would. A spinner bait looks like nothing fish have ever encountered in their entire evolutionary history, but they work. I can imagine two bass suspended under a log when a spinner bait goes by, the first bass says "What is that?" the second answers "I don't know... but I'm gonna eat it."

Great video I surf fish a lot but after seeing a few youtubers fish the Indian river I going to switch over to wading you guys catch more fish in the rivers and inlets than I do in the surf and I won't be subject to rough surf , weeds , and stuff
