I’m noticing that what attracts me to a fishing channel is the enthusiasm and appreciation for every fish. I can’t stand seeing other RUclipsr get jaded to something so precious to me
Bro they wine about all kinds of things sometimes, makes me wonder why they even fish at all?, for money? Wow then it’s a job for you not a passion anymore, I get giddy regardless of size or species because the way my rod dances in my hand puts a smile on my face….like the kid I once was….😂❤
I completely agree I don’t understand how people can say they’re a this fisherman or that fisherman. They’re all a unique challenge to put it in a modern term every fish is it’s own side quest to put it in a term from my generation. Gotta Catch 'Em All POKÉMON 😂😂 I will get just as much joy out of catching a huge bass as I will huge crappie or a huge shellcracker or a huge bluegill or a huge creek chub or a huge green sunfish as long as it’s a relatively large for the species that it is, I’m very happy and when I catch a native species oh, it’s the best lol and in all honestly at this current moment, native bass species are in more danger than native trout and in most places are harder to catch than that 10 pound Florida bass that’s hanging out in your lake lol
exactly man. I see too many fisherman that only want to catch bass. if its not a bass/not a big bass, the fish isnt handled well. another issue I always have is bass fisherman going to trout lakes that are overrun with smallmouth. most of those lakes have a mandatory kill rule on all bass. I then see them catch a smallmouth and go "what a stupid rule" and throw the bass back. every fish matters, certain fish should be in certain waters. others should not.
As someone commented, it’s the enthusiasm you have that makes every one of your videos so enjoyable to watch. I check weekly, hoping to see another Lawson video.
Dude the switch back and forth from big baits to small baits is a badass concept!!! Really really enjoyed this video man. I love em all but every now and then you crush one. That would be this video. Awesome!!
When you lost the swim bait, I think it’s a decent chance your line broke at the knot. It’s happened to me before throwing big glides all the tension put on the knot during cast it can break very clean at the knot during your retrieve and feel exactly how you described it.
Done years of targetting just the bigh fish and now I am back to finesse on ultra light tackle as its the essence of fishing, throwing drilling and catching without complexity and just having fun. Like your post and the comparison and do propose to create a simular experience but then with the small saltwater baits like the shrimp for lake bass fishing and the gliders for the inshore species.
All I throw is finesse gear in freshwater in TX and like you said never knowing what you’re going to catch is probably the best part. I target big bass, but I’ve had a day where I caught 9 different species in a lake. Im one of the guys who has to be catching to be having fun so the big bait deal is rough for me. But like you said they both have their place and can be a good time 🤙🏽. Cool vid man.
I do alot of walleye and white bass fishing in the spring summer fall and even winter weather permitting. I've found the best size of baits are whatever the fish are feeding on at that time. size almost carries more of an importance then color with white bass
The Jackall DOWZSWIMMER 180SF, Megabass 6in freestyle, Shimano flash boost & of late the Raid Osakana 170 have been on fire for me at night fishing for Monster Snook.
I think what you do from a content perspective is really one of a kind, this is a really quality idea executed well. I hope you are proud the work you do here its definitely something special.
I fish off deep saltwater piers, so as much as I like to throw smaller finesse lures, I'm fighting strong currents for 80-100ft on my way to the bottom
And you'd have to do it like, every day for a whole season while meticulously recording your results and conditions in addition to your subjective experience. I think a lot of fishing superstition is based on the inherent low sample size of the activity.
I've been thoroughly enjoying your videos man! I'm learning so much from you. I moved down here a year ago to SWFL and had the chance to do my first saltwater fishing. I became hooked! I have a TON to learn... It's almost a bit overwhelming but I hope to find someone like you someday that can take me under their wing and show me the ropes!
Great job !!! I’d recommend you do this again, but throw both baits alternately in salt and both in fresh water. Id like to see the difference. As an experiment, comparing small bait in salt and big in fresh doesn’t stand up to scrutiny, but this is still a fascinating video. But I really enjoy your enthusiasm. Thanks for taking the time to film, edit, share this.
I prefer finesse with the small lures. Especially when fish are spooky. Plus my pb snook at 46 inches came on a 3inch paddle tail. Bass however will try and shove anything in their big gullet. 😂
I have been saying for years that the smaller baits are just as much fun. It's all about how you use them. Now only if i could finally convince my wife that a smaller bait is just as good
Yo LawDawg my PB largie is only 8.7oz but it was epic. I am 64 now and caught it when I was 28. I have caught giant 100 lb tarpon and a 128 lb Pacific Sailfish among other huge Snook Redfish and Sharks. But those largemouth hold something special. Enjoy all your vids and your style. Best of luck in everything you do buddy!💪💪💪🤘🤘🤘😎
Bro ive been trying to catch a 5 pounder or better for years now. Pretty much all my life. 4.78 pounds is my biggest bass. I need to throw big baits only from now on. I usually throw lures where i can catch the most quantity but gotta switch to bigguns.
Time and place my man. Keep at it. I'm up in WI and when I was younger I thought the 5lb+ fish didn't exist up here. As I got older and more exposed, I've got tons of 5's caught so far. They're there man. My pb came off a jig at 5.96, just nearly a 6. Grind it out and have fun!
All I heard in this video was that was like a $100 glide bait. I will stick with my little bass. I can’t justify spending that much money on a single bait
I love fishing inshore on light tackle. 7' light action, 3000 series reel spooled up with 8# braid. Small lures. Sure, you do catch alot of small fish... but every once in a while, you tie into something that takes you hell bent for the horizon. Elephants DO eat peanuts occasionally. And if you want to meet a "giant ladyfish" the ones in hawaii Elops Hawaiineis (we call it Awa'aua or Tenpounder) get up well over 10 pounds... on MY rig? A big one will smoke a spinning reel drag hot enough to burn your fingers if you try to thumb it down. Poor man's tarpon indeed. We also get monster bonefish here, and they strike jigs and small jerkbaits. They can get huge... and when on the reef, aren't as finicky as thier atlantic cousins. (On flats they can be though)
Hey Lawson, long time subscriber and watcher to all your content from Australia. first time commenting. Any chance you could list the gear you used in this vid? Your heavy gear looks like it may be nice to try on murray cod. Cheers mate.

Fantastic comment!!! Couldn't agree more. I can't stand it when people just chuck a "dink" back in the water not carefully. I hate it
@ItsFlanaman yep another spot on comment 🤘🤘👊👊

Do this vid again but big baits in salt and little baits in fresh, great vid tho glad your back posting vids again keep it up 🔥
That's just called fishing 🎣
Fun to see this edit dip back and forth between salt and fresh - keep the content coming, Law dawg!
As someone commented, it’s the enthusiasm you have that makes every one of your videos so enjoyable to watch. I check weekly, hoping to see another Lawson video.

Lawson is BACK! Love the content!
The “jump off “ comment to the lady fish at the boat is so relatable lol even giving them a few chances to throw the hook.
Lawson I’ve been tuning in for at least 7 years. I’ve loved to watch the progression of you as an angler and a young man. I’m a huge fan.
When you lost the swim bait, I think it’s a decent chance your line broke at the knot. It’s happened to me before throwing big glides all the tension put on the knot during cast it can break very clean at the knot during your retrieve and feel exactly how you described it.
That, paired with the waaaay overkill hookset
Incredible video. You continually set the bar for fishing RUclips.
Really enjoyed the originality of this. And I think you’re right about both types of fishing are fun. Thanks Lawson!
that boat flip on the 5 pounder was amazing
💗 amazing video uncle Lawson!!💗
This guy never misses I swear

This video is so great i had to comment, this is why ive been watching your channel for as long as i can remember. Love the content and the enthusiasm
KEep it up brother! You capture what I love about fishing. Experiencing nature and experimenting with new things to always keep learning.
I think what you do from a content perspective is really one of a kind, this is a really quality idea executed well. I hope you are proud the work you do here its definitely something special.
2:45 "not a giant" Proceeds to 3x my pb
love this style of content, so great to see you back and enjoying life :)
I fish off deep saltwater piers, so as much as I like to throw smaller finesse lures, I'm fighting strong currents for 80-100ft on my way to the bottom
Not sure what point you proved. You’d have to do both sizes in both types of water to actually show any effect comparison.
And you'd have to do it like, every day for a whole season while meticulously recording your results and conditions in addition to your subjective experience. I think a lot of fishing superstition is based on the inherent low sample size of the activity.
I really enjoyed the way this was edited. Nicely done, sir.
I agree that catching fishing, no matter the size, is fun. Catching a lunker feels like an accomplishment.
I've been thoroughly enjoying your videos man! I'm learning so much from you. I moved down here a year ago to SWFL and had the chance to do my first saltwater fishing. I became hooked! I love the way you fish and the way you cut your great videos too 😍 best fishing channel on RUclips! Keep going.
I enjoy your editing so much dude. Been stoked seeing you post a little more lately, the dawg is iiiiiiiin

Been a fan for a long time man and I love to see you freshwater fishing, especially on the big baits!! 🤘
Such an amazing video, looked like fun to film, and I definitely appreciated all the enthusiasm and information you shared. Top tier!
I like tying those little finesse lure to my sons rod so he can catch any fish and have fun while I’m on the hunt for the biggens
Another great video. Like the back and forth methods.
Loving these videos where we see the best of both worlds from the salt and freshwater side of things.

Great video law Dawg ! Great idea with the concept ! Keep them coming !!
Hi nice video love to see it! But i have a question what rod and reel did u use for saltwater fishing?
Bro ive been trying to catch a 5 pounder or better for years now. Pretty much all my life. 4.78 pounds is my biggest bass. I need to throw big baits only from now on. I usually throw lures where i can catch the most quantity but gotta switch to bigguns.
It’s all about where you fish man. Farm ponds, golf courses at night, and private lakes are a great place to catch 5lb plus bass.
@@TheBeefSlayer no doubt and I need to branch out more. I've got a lot of trips planned this summer. It'll happen
Ive been thinking about getting a Fitzgerald rod and now I see this. The Lord works in mysterious ways 😅
Third video in a month span but still not enough. Need more high quality content like this. Maybe it’s Patreon time 💰👀
He has a Patreon!
Next video switch it up! Micro baits in freshwater and big baits in the salt. See if the trend continues over consistent numbers vs consistent size
Good to have you back. Great concept, and a very good video.
My heart and stomach sank when you released that pompano!
Bravo!!!
Big vs small baits...
50%/50%
Love that you are spending more time showing off each fish again. Old school Lawson. ❤
Next Video Idea: Castnet mullet, search for big Snook or Jacks. A throwback to your older stuff.
Lawson back with another banger🔥🔥
been watching for years. love learning from you and definitely going to have to try to pull off a salt then fresh day
good stuff... a storyline....good editing👍👍
I wath lawson lindsey videos for the plot... I swear!
Great job as always brother! Sorry about your glide bait that disappeared man that’s always a bummer
That was just fun to watch!!!
Do some fly rod content please
Elephants eat peanuts 🥜
Please, sombody tell me what the background track was while he was fishing the big shiner swim bait. 11 to 13 minutes in. Thanks
Found it! Tiger blood jewel 'The Bayou'.
Bring the old style videos from 2020, top water for snook and some live mullet for giant jacks around docks
Day 2 of asking for a brothers bass fishing/pond stocking video
yesssss
You should definitely do this again in reverse with small baits in freshwater and big in salt. There are alot of species to catch on finesse gear
3-4in swim bait in saltwater will catch anything. I’ve caught 80# Tarpon on little size 2 flies. Elephants eat peanuts.
props to throwing a baitcaster on the east coast bro!
🤌⚜️💯🎣 Another great video bud.
Like the format!
with the glides don't set the hook overly hard like a normal bait hate too see them expensive things gone i feel your pain bro
when you lost the fish I could only think
"My LAWD its a SNAPPIN TURDLE!"
Love your vids dog!! Their amazing, best fishing channel. Can you do a video about the gear that u use?
All I heard in this video was that was like a $100 glide bait. I will stick with my little bass. I can’t justify spending that much money on a single bait
Might be an odd question but what brand was that hooded shirt you were wearing?
Anetik
their ultra guide hoodie 🤙🏻
Good stuff man any day on the water is fun brother.

I’ve noticed I’m coming to you for a break in the ffs bass fishing lol
Sick video bro!!💪🏽STAY BEASTLY!
Honestly man, with swimbaiting. It can be something that isn't even in the water you're fishing and it'll get bit
MY DAWG!!!!! great video!!

Oakley Clifden 🤙🏻🕶️
Here ya go
Great video man🙌🏻

Would love to know what glasses those are, looks like what I been looking for
Oakley Clifden 🤙🏻 thank later lol
Is this in salt or fresh water
Skipped science class - control them variables
Great videio, Thanks,
Love the video!
Hey Lawson, long time subscriber and watcher to all your content from Australia. first time commenting. Any chance you could list the gear you used in this vid? Your heavy gear looks like it may be nice to try on murray cod. Cheers mate.
I’ve never seen a largemouth so dark before as that first one.
Hey Lawson, I was curious what brand sunglasses are those?
Oakley Clifden
11:56 thre was a fish in the water
100$ glide bait and you set the hook and lost it. That answers my question right there which is more enjoyable to fish with.
🐐
WHAT IS UP MAH DAWWWWWWWGS!
Great video
